We had a 6:30 reservation and the server was kind enough to tell they were running out of Oyster and a main course dish which I thought was strange since the restaurant was just starting to get busy. We had four people, and all had appetizers and a main course. Three of us ordered their Lamb Chops that were severed almost the way we order them in terms of temperature. Three of us switches a vegetable that went with the Lamb main course. There was a $3.50 substitution charge for each. I ordered the Raw Oysters, which was $18, there were very fresh but only came with a small paper thimble of ketchup not a homemade sauce or fresh horseradish, and no oyster crackers. I asked for horseradish and some crackers, and they charged us $1.50 for extra crackers. Our bill before server tip was $300. You would think they would not nickel and dime us for changing a vegetable or crackers. Not a good policy. By the way this is a very small restaurant that is very noisy.“

I thought the sesame chicken and the garlic chicken were both really good. The pork lo mein was a really healthy amount of shredded pork in it. Can't remember the last time I was impressed with pork lo mein.“

“We have been wanting to visit The Blind Pelican for a while, and finally took the plunge for my husband’s birthday. This trip will absolutely not be our last. The place was packed on a Tuesday night (it’s not a huge space, especially in the winter when outside seating isn’t available, so plan accordingly). Our wait time was exactly what the hostess promised, and service was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. All staff were phenomenal and checked on us while we were waiting as well as once we were seated. The staff aren’t overly attentive, which we love (they checked on us enough to be helpful but otherwise just let us enjoy our meal). We obviously HAD to try the crazy fun bloody mary’s. They were delicious - exceptional bloody mary’s, and all of the food on top was perfectly cooked and a joy to eat. I had the Taco Tuesday special - lobster tacos with a mango salsa that made me do a happy dance, and my husband had the steak and scallops. Everything was so good and worth the price, in my opinion. Quality seafood can be pricey in central NC, but worth it! The bloody mary’s are obviously a novelty item - but the quality was so outstanding that I would actually order one again (which is saying a lot as I figured it would be a one and done). I can’t wait to go back and try all of the other items on their menu - including some fun drinks & apps we didn’t have room to try this time. If you’re on the fence, just go! You will be glad you did!“

“My husband and I have dined at M Sushi twice now and our second visit was just as wonderful as our first so a review is overdue! Both times we did the Nigiri Omakase and I don't think we will ever NOT do the Nigiri Omakase when we come here lol it just blows us away each time!!! I highly recommend it, even if you don't think you are a Nigiri person (I didn't think I was). Not only was every single plate delicious and surprising with its flavors, the service both times has been so great we both commented on it to each other after leaving. The staff is skilled!!! This place is basically an edible science experiment in the best possible way. Every bite is different because you get to create your own flavor combinations, so your taste buds never know what’s coming next.

We ordered the Angus steak, pork belly (and then immediately ordered more pork belly because apparently self-control isn’t on the menu), shrimp, and lamb. I’ve never been a lamb person because of that slightly gamey flavor, but he insists it’s incredible. As for me? The steak and pork belly absolutely stole the show.

Now here’s the life-changing tip you didn’t know you needed: take that complimentary miso sauce and use it as a marinade for the steak and pork belly. You’re welcome. I briefly considered asking for a cup to take home and drink with a straw.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we finished with the ice cream cups that unlocked childhood memories we forgot we had.

It came with a fresh side salad and a good portion of rice. I asked for extra red onions and they hooked it up, which made the plate even better.

“We were a party of 4. Two of us enjoyed the Durango burger and the special Parmesan crusted chicken. The third guest had the special salmon and shrimp special with mango salsa. The reason he ordered the dish was because he loves mango. The dish came out full of grilled corn with one tiny cube of mango! Imagine his big disappointment. The shrimp was cold, but the salmon was at the right temperature. He said he would not order the dish again. My tenderloin salad was absolutely awful! The onion rings were cold and the beef was dried. I asked the waitress to have the dressing on the side but it came drenched in dressing. Our waitress was MIA the entire time except when it's time for the check. We had to ask another server for bread for the table. We went to the restaurant to give it another try after a disappointing visit a few months ago. Needless to say, the second time did not encourage us to return anytime soon in the future.“
