Restaurantji's guide to Apex's top Mexican dining experiences.
“I keep coming back so this is a review of three or more times!I tried- tortas with legua- tacos with al pastor, chorizo, and legua- Hawaiian tortas- churrosI would say all of them are really good with fast service and generous portions! I love the tortas the most, Hawaiian was a really interesting approach with plenty of things inside: hotdogs, fried egg, warm pineapple, all other things, it’s so big that it took me some time to finish it.I really like lengua as well, and I think it goes the best with their hot sauce (but on the side because it’s really spicy)And churros, can’t you see how huge and gorgeous the plate is? I feel guilty bc every time I came back I need to fight my desire to order more of it. Best churros I have ever had.“
“Went for the first time on Saturday March 6. I got a beef taco and my kids got the same. I also ordered a side of rice. The food took about 8 minutes to make. We opened up our taco and it looked delicious. There was a little lime in all our taco meals. The taste was amazing! The tortilla was authentic and delicious as well! The rice was the best I ever had! We will be back to try more tasty menu items!“
“We have now been to all of the Mi Cancun locations in this area multiple times, and everytime are blown away at the quality and quantity of the food, the speed at which it is served, how happy all their staff is, and even the quality if the drinks created and their presentation all for a super value compared to many Mexican restaurants in the zone. For fun, festive, and great food and service for the dollar, no one beats this chain. I commend the owners/management team for what they have created here and ask only that they keep doing what they are doing!“
“We hired El Rey del Taco for our wedding rehearsal dinner and they were amazing!! The tacos were delicious and all our guests loved them! We had them come to our venue and it made the rehearsal dinner run smoothly so we could all stay in one place. Jorge and Maria were easy to work with and the staff was all very friendly! We highly recommend them!!“
“Looking for authentic Mexican flavors without breaking the bank? Look no further than this hidden gem taco truck in the Triangle area! Finally found the jackpot of tasty tacos, with options for both meat lovers and veggie enthusiasts alike. Affordable, flavorful, and undoubtedly a must-try for any foodie on the hunt for genuine Mexican cuisine. You won't be disappointed!“
“Had dinner here last night. Got the gringa birrira, veg fajita quesidilla, grilled chicken kids menu and mangonada. First off, the food was very tasty and the portions are good to serve two. The mangonada drink was presented well but the drink was average, it had lot of mango syrup than tequila, so it was on the sweeter side. It was a busy evening so the service was little slow but still not bad.“
“Specials were listed at front window. I tried the enchilada suizas-really tasty. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. The food was all very good and the drinks were refilled without direction. My waiter was great. The robot was fun and the service was speedy.“
“Obsessed with their steak tacos, so delicious. I eat here at least once a week, sometimes (more than sometimes tbh) more. Their spicy red sauce is on point, great heat and good flavor. Highly recommended. Can find them here fairly reliably, sometimes swapped with Azteca, another excellent taco truck. Heard they might have the same owners? Not sure, they're of comparable if not identical quality though.Honestly I'd eat here every day, totally addicted.“
“We lived in Apex for 16 years, dining here once a week because the food, service and prices were all excellent. Antonio and his staff make you feel like family. We’ve recently moved to Wendell but continue to see doctors and dentists in Apex, excited to schedule appointments around lunchtime so we can enjoy another fabulous lunch. We were there last week and it was exactly what we needed.“
