“Traveling through Benson and stopped by on someone's recommendation. Glad we did. Food was great but sadly didn't save room for dessert ?, but it sure looked amazing. Best part was the live gospel singing. Wonderful atmosphere.“

“We found Lane’s Seafood and Steak House tonight. Though we have lived in Harnett County for three years, we have never visited this restaurant until now. The new signs posted at the Old Fairgrounds Road/ Stephenson Road intersection and the NC 50 / Stephenson Road intersection are helpful to those who are still learning the area.The restaurant is refined but cozy, and our waitress ( Sheila) was super friendly and accommodating. The food was great. We tried the seafood ( I ordered flounder; my companion ordered fried shrimp). The bread coating on the fish and shrimp was light, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The white slaw included a trace of pickle and pepper, which paired well with the seafood. The potatoes were served steaming hot and the butter melted instantly when applied to the soft and yielding potato.The only disappointment was the hushpuppy texture. The puppies were shaped more like strands than scoops, and the grease in which they were fried permeated the entire body of the hush puppy. The result was a dense and gooey bread. But there are so many recipes for hush puppies, and the patrons of this long standing eatery must like this one. We were content to pass on the puppies because the remainder of the meal was so good.We will return to try other options on the menu. We had a pleasant dining experience.“

“What a GEM!! 2 miles off I95 in an unassuming strip. Best fried fish, oysters, scallops, crispy, lightly battered and salted and over the top deviled crabs I've had in a long time. Cooked perfectly, crispy (not greasy) and tender (moist). The service was very good and the place was well kept and clean (the bathrooms could do with an update, needs a baby changing table). It's truly a hidden gem. Wish we lived nearby. We will be stopping by whenever we are driving by.“

Unfortunately, they only have a smart seated waiting area. There is no space for dine in.Parking: The parking lot will destroy the bottom of your car if you have one that sits low because of all of the huge potholes that you have to get around.“
