“Happy hour: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm M - F
If you love beer or cocktails and you need an early dinner, this is a great happy hour. You can get a huge chicken sandwich that tastes high quality for $9 or a delicious burger for $12. Drinks range from $3 - $10. They have plenty of cocktail and beer options during the happy hour as well. The only thing I wish they did was a red and white house wine with the happy hour menu as well. Other than that this is perfect for people who want a fancy delicious experience without the high price tag.

“We passed by Wagbar on our way to our Airbnb and just knew we had to visit. So many happy dogs playing, my dog was anxious to join everytime we passed by. I love that they take being up to date on vaccines serious. We were greeted by what I called the "Welcome committee" consisting of 3 huge golden retrievers. Got inside, ordered a few drinks and set Stash free. He was right away accepted into the group of dogs playing and shown around. Not only were all the dogs friendly and very social, but their owners were as well. Great conversations were had. Absolutely recommend this place. The employee working that day(can't remember her name) was amazing with the dogs. She took notice anytime the dogs were "bored". She would come out and entice them to play around. Hilarious seeing the regulars reaction to her approach because they KNEW what was up haha! Can't wait to visit again when we are in town.“

“My friends and I stopped in while we were on a weekend trip in Asheville. We didn’t know what to expect and were surprised by the vibe there, but we had a great time! The owner, Imran(sp?), took us under his wing, gave us a quick tour, and talked with us for a bit. We had a great time!“

“The Low Down in West Asheville is absolutely amazing! It’s tucked just off Haywood next to The Hop you have to go downstairs to get to it, and the space is gorgeous. Everything here feels thoughtfully designed, from the decor to the lighting sconces, bar, booths, and wall art it’s unlike anywhere else. I wish I had taken pictures because it’s truly stunning.
The drinks are hand-crafted and top-notch, with some ingredients made in-house. Even the glassware is beautiful. There’s a fun game I’d never seen before they called it shuffleboard but not like my great grandads shuffle board, it was unique and the people playing it had a good time, and it adds to the vibe.
I went alone and sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly, attentive, and fun to chat with even while busy. The overall vibe is a perfect mix of a warm, welcoming neighborhood bar with a classy, art-deco, decadent feel. Prices are fair, and the attention to detail is incredible. I’ve gone back twice, and each time it’s just as cozy, sophisticated, and enjoyable. I love this place!“

“My favorite spot in town to hangout at ! Low entry fee, and then the games are set to free play. Super easy to get your money’s worth. They keep their beer selection changing, and lots of options if you’re picky like me. They also keep their pinball machines rotating around so you never get bored with that selection either. Super nice and knowledgeable staff who are fun to talk to and joke around with. 10/10 !“

“I am one of the organizers for a monthly network gathering group. We chose to go to DSSOLVR and VOWL for our event this month. We had approximately 200 folks there this past Tuesday (January 14, 2024). The staff nailed it at both bars. Serving 200 people at one time can be a challenge... the staff did not disappoint. It was an extremely welcoming evening from the start to the finish. The owners and management were awesome to work with and delivered everything that they promised and more. They provided a DJ for us (DJ Abu Dissarray), which made the evening even that much more fun. Many of the event-goers had not been to either of these bars, but I heard from many folks that they planned on going back due to the friendliness of the staff and the treatment that we received. “Everything was great except some slow service. Host called to ask if anything would like to be done prior. She helped put out a balloon and flowers I had brought. Also brought icing for them to write Happy 5 Years with the dessert. The server was slow and waited about 45 mins from the end of our food to getting dessert and leaving. Definitely was busy so I understand. Food, views, and the atmosphere were top notch. I will be back!“

“Chad was super welcoming at the door. It’s members-only, but it was easy to sign up with an ID and there wasn’t a cover, which was a nice surprise. We went a bit early and got to watch the place fill up—there were two guys in a seriously competitive pool game that was fun to watch.
By later that night, my cousin was already texting me asking for the name because she wants to go back. The Barksdale is a cool dive bar with great lighting, a fun atmosphere, and a DJ on Saturday night. Definitely a spot I’d return to.“

“Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Lovely ambience in the space. It feels like the kitchen really cares about the food it brings out. One thing I particularly liked was how well all the dishes were seasoned. A bit of heat here, a bit of spice there, and a dash of sweet when needed. And speaking of sweet, the lemon curd cheesecake is a wonder. I love it when the cheesecake part of the cheesecake isn't oversweet. The lemon curd gives a sweet and tart compliment to the creaminess of the dairy in the dish. It's dangerous, I tell you! We'll be back for more.“

“I have loved this establishment for over a decade! The servers and owners are amazing. It's a dive bar/locals bar...if you can't handle a dive bar, then don't come. The food is awesome and brunch is where it's at! Thank me later after you put the biscuits and gravy in your mouth!“
