“Stopped by to give them a try after work. Everything was high quality and they didn't seem to skimp on their selections, from homemade hot sauces to real sour cream! They even use good quality onions. My Fajita was delicious and the sauces were so complex! They were definitely more than just hot, they had a fantastic flavor. You can really see the quality in the things they cook here and my waitress truly seemed to care about my feelings toward the food. Here the food is a tribute to excellence. I also told the waitress when she asked if I needed a container for the cheese dip "I'll probably pour it overtop like a heathen!" To which she happily said "that's fine!" no judgement here lol! Very good. I will return!“

“Every single interaction we had at Limones was sincere, intentional, and well executed. We were greeted and given a place to wait in the lobby with an herbal seltzer. Our server Jamie was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and gave eloquent, robust descriptions of the food as well as his recommendations we requested. We shared the lardo pizza - you should too. This is cellophane thin pork fat rendered just so to melt into incredible cheese and oven fired crust. I would go back for more this second. Every part of our meal exuded that impeccable attention to detail. A ravioli type pasta with ham cornbread and peas was the perfect Appalachian/Italian pairing. The tiramisu was thick, custardy, eggy in the lightest but creamiest way. The pistachio gelato with pistachio syrup was incredible. My only wish would’ve been to try one more dessert but we did make a 9:30 reservation so you roll the dice. That panna cotta sounded wonderful. I could not imagine anyone being less than thoroughly impressed with Limones. My husband was a chef for 20+ years and felt every aspect of a great meal was part of our meal there. 10/10 Limones.“

I’ve tried both the chicken and steak tacos, as well as the steak and pork burritos — and every single bite has been nothing short of amazing. The flavors are rich and authentic, the meat is always perfectly cooked, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. You can tell they put real heart into their food. “This is the most authentic Mexican restaurant that i’ve been to. If you’re the average American looking to get Mexican food with “chips and dip” prior to ordering, look elsewhere. No chips or salsa was provided. They do not have sweet tea, it is only bottled or can drinks. The tacos were good. The atmosphere was mediocre. I would consider this to be a manly place rather than a family restaurant. While I wasn’t displeased with the food, I most likely will not return, at least not with my family.

Parking: Very small parking lot that is hard to access during high volume traffic.“

My old joke that a good Mexican restaurant has a big TV and a soccer game running stands true here as well.

But what makes this place great is the food. It is more California Mex, which this former Californian misses.

Basic as it is, I almost always get the chicken burrito. Interesting blend of flavors, and just the right amount of sour cream to carry the entire meal.“

“We wanted Mexican food tonight and decided to give the Merrimon Avenue location a try. (Take out). The order was ready when I arrived. We are very pleased with the food. The Nacho Supremes were great and the Enchiladas Supreme were excellent. Would recommend that if you want Mexican food, this is the place to go.“

“Very cool place. There's the taco truck out front and the little store behind. I've only been in the store a couple of times (Seriously, I'm the whitest Scots-Irish guy you know), but it had some interesting Mexican/Hispanic products. The candy was really cool.

The taco truck is what I usually hit when I visit. The portions are enormous. This is not Taco Bell stuff. A single taco comes with two soft corn tortillas and enough stuffing for both. They come with onion, cilantro, radish, lime wedge, your choice of meat, and (though I always decline it - did say I was super white, right?) a grilled jalapeno. The green sauce is so flavorful without being too hot. Mom loves the quesadilla.

Just be cautious pulling in/out. The bottom of the drive is kind of washed out and lumpy. Easier to come and go from the drive near Sluder's (Eastbound) unless you have a truck or SUV.“

I am a big eater of chicken, and of quesadillas, and in my years of coming here I've never had a bad one, and almost always get an incredible one. Their prices are fairly high, and I don't know their whole menu, but I could have one every day here and never tire of it. If you enjoy a good spicy chicken quesadilla, you've found a new favorite spot.“
