“JW and the Catering Company catered our wedding at Duke Gardens in 2022. JW is the archetype of a professional and a gentleman in his field. The food was excellent, the coordination and execution was perfect, and we couldn't have asked for more. He helped us beyond the food, such as helping us find a wedding planner and providing useful input on logistics and vendor-related activity unrelated to food/drink. We highly recommend JW and the Catering Company to anyone with a major event in the Durham/Chapel Hill area.“
“We were very busy this time of the year and noticed that there is a catering place in Chapel Hill called Beau. I thought we might give them a try and ordered a full meal soup to nuts for Hanukkah! We had matzo ball soup we bought two quarts soup it came with 16 matzo balls. We also got a kugel that and doesn't like baby carrots and brisket in a wine sauce. They were two types of rugelach raisin and triple chocolate. Everything was delivered to my door in the time we expected it. Everything heated up and was delicious. It's nice to see this type of local service. My wife and I truly enjoyed everything. Food and service are perfect it you looking for an easy nights meal. We enjoyed it with our fire place burning and some music. It was a perfect evening and I'm sure we will use them in the future. Unfortunately I did not get any photos. “Phenomenal mango or peach pico de gallo. Definitely the best I’ve ever had. Their pupusas are so friggin good as well! We go to Durham farmers market every week just to buy from these guys! Get there early, because they sell out of the pico quickly“
“Marcel's catered a silent auction for us and it was a perfect experience. We're a non-profit and had a pretty small budget, but they were able to work with us on the perfect, budget friendly menu - and it was still delicious! We had a cash bar as well and the bartenders were incredible! Super friendly and went above and beyond.“

“I was invited to a private surprise dinner for my best friend's 40th birthday. Chef Zacki was our personal chef for the evening. I was a professional chef for 20 years, but I had never been a guest at an event with a private chef so I was psyched!I had just returned from Paris a month before, so I was excited to hear that the main course that evening would be the classic beef bourguignon. I was hoping the meal would be good but I certainly didn't expect it to compare to the food in France...To my surprise, not only was every course excellent, but the beef bourguignon was FAR SUPERIOR to the one I had just a few weeks early in Montmartre, France (at a restaurant best known for their bourguignon!) It was flavorful and tender, and the accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked. The other 3 courses were also delicious and as a bonus Chef Zacki is a lovely person! The night was perfect and I absolutely recommend Chef Zacki for any culinary event!“
“Either Mally is a culinary genius or Iranian food is what I’ve been craving all my life. (Or both!) Everything she makes is intensely flavorful, thoroughly nutritious, and warms the soul. Her hole-in-the-wall location has zero ambiance and really isn’t an eat-in venue, but Mally herself has a gracious & welcoming presence as she chitchats & prepares these delights. “I am a student at UNC Chapel Hill, and when my mom visited town we ordered City BBQ. The meat was amazing their pulled pork was so juicy and tender! The swine wine sauce was the best barbecue sauce we had ever had. After eating our first order we ordered two more pounds of meat to have for the rest of the week! The chocolate cake was divine! Definitely will become a regular staple!“
“Very nice employees, great experience, and the chocolate milkshake was amazing. Went here on a lacrosse trip and my whole team (20ish teens) came in a bought ice cream. Even though there were only 2 workers they handled all of our orders pretty fast.“
