I am assuming the "howling" part of the name is because this is an NCSU establishment (Wolfpack).

I have had Howling Cow products at other places throughout Raleigh, and this is the first time at the creamery itself. The grounds are wonderful. There is interior seating, but the star here is the back patio, equipped with rocking chairs and the like, with a large grass area overlooking the cows/farmland. Awesome. There are several creameries throughout NC that have a farmland type view, but the patio does it for me.

I've tried several items from HC. As far as flavors, cherry vanilla and almond butter stand out to me. I had a sundae this go-round, Fireside Brownie Sundae. It had a warm brownie, whipped cream, chocolate chips, and ice cream. They are extremely rich. They offer splits, several cup and cone options, shakes, and pretty much anything ice cream related. Has a bunch of toppings to make whatever concoction you want. I really enjoy the two aforementioned ice cream flavors and like this over everything else sampled. You can also purchase bottled drinks, t-shirts, and other dairy products.

Expect plenty of patrons, a line that usually moved fairly quickly, and ample staff to handle it all. HC does NOT take cash, and I actually love this aspect.

“We drive almost an hour to Willow oak farm because it’s that good! The barnyard buddies class is so nice, my daughters look forward to it every week. The two teachers are amazing and great with the kids. And there is so much to do after class we end up staying the rest of the day! There’s an outdoor playground, indoor playground, ice cream, and farm animals. We just had my daughters birthday party here as well and everyone had a blast.“

“Mama birds has a good variety of flavors and they are able to scoop you any pint of ice cream you want they have good service tables to eat at inside and games you can play if you want to stay and hang.They also have cakes you can choose from and other desserts you can have, I used to not want to try chocolate bannanas but mama birds have made me want to have one. “We’ve been to JT’s probably close to 10 times. It’s my favorite in town though it’s a little more rich and not an everyday ice cream to me. Well, it’s always been really solid good ice cream until tonight when I had the peanut butter cup ice cream. Absolutely blew my socks off. Might have been the best ice cream I ever had. They should be out winning competitions with that one. Will be getting that every time it’s available now.“

“Can’t get enough of these delicious ice cream, this has been my second time going and I love the ice cream options they have, even fruits in a cup which are call mangonada they are so delicious if you love mango with tajin. We had a Oreo cookies popsicle and churros and coconut ice cream with malsapan(it’s kinda taste like almond) very delicious I will really recommended it.“

“The cookies Crumbl sell are amazing! There always served warm or chilled depending on the type of dessert you get! The service is absolutely fantastic, as soon as you order not even a minute later my cookie is ready! I personally love going there because I always smile when I see the pink walls and cookie wall decor!

And they have had me hooked since day one. Great staff always polite and professional. And they don’t keep you waiting long. All around a great place for dessert.“
