The breaded of it was coming off from the flounder, which I just ate the fish part of it. The Cole slaw was ok. The hush puppies weren't so bad that they were only 4 that were given with my order. Maybe this will be my last time going there. I need to find where Mayflower is located!“

“I’ve been enjoying Village Tavern for over 25 years—whether celebrating with friends and family or simply stopping in for a casual meal. It’s one of those rare places where I know I can always count on a consistently great meal and warm, attentive service.

There’s truly not a bad seat in the house. The indoor dining area is cozy and welcoming, and I especially love the outdoor patio when the weather’s nice. The large bar inside is perfect for socializing or networking, with a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. It’s a spot that’s friendly to both families and singles, and the staff always makes everyone feel at home.

Some of my favorites include the fish tacos, meatloaf, and carrot cake—each one consistently delicious and satisfying. The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and offers plenty of parking, which makes every visit easy and enjoyable.

Village Tavern has been part of so many memories over the years, and I’m grateful it continues to be a place I can return to with confidence and joy.“

“Solid seafood place, the food is consistently good. Big portions, friendly staff, and an ok atmosphere. The only cons I have are the fries and soft drinks. Go for the tea or water, and pick a side other than fries (I might have just gotten a bad batch but the majority of my fries seemed over cooked) overalll the seafood was great and that's what this place is about!“

“Tonight was my family’s first time eating at El Alebrije ! Food was hot and fast! Queso had just enough of a kick to it . The plates are huge! I got an ACP and could have easily split it with my husband. Price of our meal was great too for a family of 5!“

“Let me tell you from silent travel to all of you. I had to go back to my old stomping ground in Greensboro when I heard they had a juicy crab. I had to see it for myself because it was not there when I went to school there but it is a blessing to see it there. I am happy to say and I can officially say this is one place you better not skip out on when you come back to the g-boro the crab is juicy. The meat is nice and tender. I mean it's just melts in your mouth. I serve very nice to look at very hospitable and very easy to work with. Love the recommendations and I think all of them do a really good job making sure you feel it okay. Just make sure you bring your appetite and get you a set of oysters. It'll set you on fire. The food was absolutely amazing, love they have the healthy options like turkey bacon. My grandson had the Salmon burger guys this was SO good! My breakfast was plentiful and the potatoes are the best I’ve ever ate! It is hidden inside of the Renaissance building, straight back past the elevator and to the left! “Our waiter was rubbing some girls' hair and scalp for 3-4 minutes before coming to serve us. two of our party of 5 were there for lunch. the waiter did not wash his hands and we were disgusted. we did not say anything as I decided to make a written comment at home. He also did not write down our orders saying he had been doing this a long time and didn't need to write down the orders. “At first, I was a little worried about how the service was going to be. The energy was a little awkward walking in. It was late so I figured maybe some of the staff had a long day & I thought no more of it. Our waitress was super sweet! My mother’s food was the last & late to come out but we were too busy entertaining each other to really notice. “We celebrated our 45th anniversary there last night, Sept. 26. Our waiter Aiden was absolutely the best. He was very polite, professional and always made sure how our food was. Also, he's so sweet to talk to and was very attentive to our conversations. I'd give him a 10 star rating.“

“I ordered the beef lo mein, and as the store name implies, it "taste good".
I called in my order and arrived about 10 mins after, I was quoted an oddly specific time of 7 mins. However, when I arrived I waited about 10 more mins for the food. That being said, it was fresh so I'm not complaining.
The lobby isn't what you would call inviting or necessarily clean. The menu is old printed paper with typos but they also have the classic menu at the counter. See attached pics.
They do try to distract you from the 90 health rating with a decoration hanging in front of it.“

“My husband and I love Aunt E’s Southern Cuisine! The owner really came through for us with a large order at the last minute during the NCA&TSU Homecoming celebration last weekend. We needed food for 10 people and the other soul food restaurants we called laughed at us and said there was no way they could help us on the Thursday before Homecoming! We talked with Aunt E herself, and she worked with us and let us know what dishes she could prepare. We called her at noon and the food was ready by 4:00pm. When we went to pick up the food, it was hot and ready just in time for our guests who were scheduled to arrive by 5:00pm. It was our first time in the restaurant, and we noticed a friendly ambience and beautiful banquet room. We also met her husband, daughter, and other relatives. We are so grateful for her willingness to help us. And to top it all off, the food (cabbage, sweet potato casserole, sautéed spinach, and jollof rice), was delicious! Everybody loved it! We give this business our highest rating and appreciation!

Parking: Parking is available right in front of the restaurant and the parking lot is large with lots of available parking.“
