“Growing up I enjoyed frozen custard from Abbott’s on Lake Ave in Rochester NY. Whit’s is a good close #2. I can never decide - chocolate or vanilla cone. ❤️ or you can get 2 scoops and not decide. They are both delicious. I saw a banana split coming out and was rather envious. It looked fabulous and according to the 2 sharing it — it was that good.The atmosphere in the Nash Street area in Hillsborough is much changed from my time working downtown. A much needed good change. Hillsborough BBQ and Whit’s are a great combo for a night out in the quaint town of Hillsborough. So much has stayed the same, so much has changed. Stop here to bring back some childhood memories.“

“The New Hope Market is a half hour from our home, but we go several times a month. Excellent food, which we can take home or eat there. “We love the buffet! Unfortunately, the buffet switched from weekdays to the weekend. We still prefer this Indian buffet over all the other in the area. The buffet changes daily, and there's always plenty of good vegetarian and meat options. They also separate the meat and vegetarian options at the buffet, which I think is a big plus. Not all their food is spicy, but some is. I found the level of Asian-ness to be perfectly acceptable for Durham, NC - and in fact it was pretty standard as far as Thai restaurants go.The entire front of house was run by one man. I do not know his name, but he is my personal hero. He was seating tables, taking orders, running food, refilling drinks, and processing checks with more efficiency than a coordinated strike team. I got the Thai Basil Fried Rice because my white posterior cannot handle much spicier than BBQ Sauce. It was not only incredibly flavorful and texture rich, but also satisfying. It was a perfect lunch portion. I’m a Big Boy so I tend to eat a bit more than most folks, so expect to get a to-go box. “Shamefully it’s my family’s first time eating here despite being longtime Durhamites. Ordered takeout for my mom’s birthday and it was great! Order was ready when I requested and it actually stayed very warm the entire time I traveled back home (about 15 minutes away). I got a breakfast sandwich with fried egg, turkey sausage, and cheese on an English muffin. I was pleasantly surprised that it actually had not one but two turkey sausage patties in it! “My husband and I got married here! He did an amazing job finding the venue. The owner and staff are wonderful, and the property is beautiful. We haven't lived in the area for long so we wanted our friends and family to see why we love it here so much. This was the place to show off our new home state. “I have loved Neo China for years and years. It has always been excellent and is always my #1 for Asian food. The food is still good but lately the preparation and presentation is different— veggies cooked a little longer and heavier on the stir fry oil than in the past. It’s still my go-to but please keep the excellence high!“
