I almost don’t want to write a review because I don’t want this fantastic secret to get out.I discovered Plant-Based Boss by searching for vegan restaurants in Hickory, NC, fully expecting to see the typical places with one or two vegetarian options. But then! But then Plant-Based Boss popped up, and I wasn’t sure it indeed was what it looked like. The menu mentioned things like spare ribs and chorizo. What?!So, my husband and a couple of friends planned a couple’s date night and drove an hour and a half to try the food. Surprisingly and to our delight, we got so much more than hoped for. The ambiance was fresh and inviting. A charming and friendly lady greeted us and took our orders. She explained the menu, that almost everything was made in-house, including their veggie “meats,” vegan cheeses, and sauces. The offerings included tacos, burritos, boats, and more. And yet, this food was like no tacos, burritos, or boats I’ve ever experienced.When our food arrived, it blew our minds. We were enthralled with our choices. We oohed and aahed at each other’s meal. The flavors were fantastic! I ordered one of the bowls. I won’t try to describe everything, but I have shared a few pics for your enjoyment.Although I hope the popularity of this beautiful new find doesn’t grow so big and fast as not to have room for us when we visit again, I hope everyone will try it because we need them and more places like them.My new favorite place to eat is Plant-Based Boss!Vegetarian options: Everything is not only vegetarian, it’s vegan.Dietary restrictions: Vega, vegetarian”

“Best JDs around. Definitely worth the drive over the gamewell location(both are good but Connelly Springs is definitely the original and best!) Staff is always super nice, food is always great, never had any dry or unseasonably food. Love it ! Their pork rinds are also really good!”

“This cafe is AWESOME! I saw the sign across the street after getting my teeth cleaned, lol, and I decided to stop. The ladies were sooo friendly and gave the best recommendations. My iced latte was a special, off-the-menu creation, and it was so good! Way better than Starbucks! And the home-made pastries were amazingly delicious and pretty. I wanted to try all of them! I highly recommend the 3 Little Chicks, and I will definitely visit the next time I'm in the area - such a cute cafe, nice ambiance, a large variety of treats, and they have mini golf! Would be a great hang-out; I just wish I lived nearby!”

“I'm with a lot of the other reviews. Over priced much....... got the Gumbo. If you're going to serve someone Half of the container maybe put it in a smaller container so the customer doesn't feel jipped. The Gumbo was very flavorful with the right amount of spice. But 1 small scoop of rice..... rice is very inexpensive and they put it in a huge container to make it seem even smaller. $17 for a lunch. Nope”

“We went with a group of 17 people. They had 2 waitresses for our group and they were very attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that I thought dessert was a little expensive, but drinks were cheaper than some places so that made it okay in the long run. ”

I had the Carmel machiato hot, with so many options that I can not remember them all. :) It was the best coffee I have ever had! If you are in the area, stop by and try any of the offerings, I am sure you will be pleased.”

“Amazing little hole in the wall diner. Great food and selection of items. I always get the livermush, egg, and cheese with the livermush cooked crispy. And it's ALWAYS cooked to perfection. The employees are super friendly and helpful. They have limited hours and are only open for breakfast and lunch, so keep that in mind when you're wanting to order from here. The parking lot is small so just keep that in mind when coming here to eat. They don't have indoor dining, but they have a table or 2 outside to sit at and eat. This is a must try restaurant when you're in Hickory. Make sure to get napkins when you pick up your order because sometimes the sandwiches can get a little messy, but those are the best kinds to eat. Prices are outrageous like other places. I give this place a 10/10!!”

“Here's is the deal I've eaten at a lot a of food trucks, tacos are my favorite food I've tried about 8 different resturants since moving back to lenior a couple months ago. So far this truck hands down has had the best tacos in the area... the pastor tacos had a great flavor not to sweet which has been the running trend everywhere... the asada tacos were also very good and the portions amounts were on point. I have a hard time with the spicy sauces as I grow older and I must say they had the best green Verde sauce (tomatillo based) that I've had in a hot minute I was able to enjoy the flavor with out being overwhelmed by the spice they get 5 stars and 2bthumbs up from this 5aco fiend!!! I will be ordering here again!”

“Overall a good experience.Fair prices and good food. My biggest complaint is how long the wait was in the drive through. I was 3 cars back and had to wait for about 15 minutes before the line moved.I got a footlong hotdog, monster burger, and onion rings. Total was $13. Would be a good place to bring some kids and get ice cream. Monster burger wasn’t huge. Maybe about the same size as a quarter pounder.You might get your food faster if you sit at the tables.”

“My husband and I stopped by for the first time and went to the drive through. There's not a menu on the right side of the building but the ladies gave us a paper menu and were super helpful while we decided what to order. Service was quick, the ladies were very friendly and the coffees were great, we will definitely be back!”

“It was our first visit to the angus steakhouse in hickory, nc. It was the best dine in experience we have EVER encountered. It felt like a true small town steakhouse. The staff were super friendly, they came around frequently talking to each table. You can tell they truly enjoy their job and the customers. The food was quick to come out and so fresh. I highly recommend, and we will return without question. The owner and staff really pour their heart into that restaurant!”

Josh greeted us at the door and was also our server and he was absolutely awesome!Duke’s has an extensive wine list with so many great choices.The ‘regular’ menu as well as the specials had so many wonderful selections. I had the house salad with blue cheese dressing which was fresh and full of flavor. My husband had the Caesar salad which he loved.For dinner I had the crab cake served with asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes and julienne squash and everything was so delicious! There was so much food I brought half of it home and I can’t wait till lunch tomorrow!My husband had the sushi grade tuna with fried rice and he loved it.Included with our meal was a lovely dessert sampling , (delicious and just the right size) and we left so satisfied but not stuffed.Go to Duke’s! “We stopped on the way to Asheville. With a table for 7 we all enjoyed our food...the service was great and the outside covered area was beautiful.
