“I don’t know who’s working tonight but they must be in a great mood because this is the first time I’ve ordered fries through doordash where I didn’t feel robbed by the portion they gave me. I’m going to continue supporting regardless of the french fry theft because doordashing Hickory Tavern is my favorite way to treat myself, and a little toxic has never scared me. However, it’s nice to feel like I was given a fair portion for the price for once. A win for big momma.“

“I went to the restaurant for the first time and the waiter who served me very well was Gustavo, he is very friendly and attentive. I felt like it was the first time eating Brazilian food. I don’t go out much. My usual nightlife consists of refrigerator light and a cozy existential crisis. But in the spirit of not regretting life on my deathbed (which feels closer every time I eat fried mushrooms), I ventured to Midtown Country Club.
And you know what? I had fun. Like, honest-to-goodness, looked-up-darts-on-Amazon-after kind of fun. Learned how to play darts with some tragically unbalanced plastic ones, and still managed to feel like an Olympic athlete in the glow of good vibes.
Shoutout to the bartender—this man is a sober cocktail sorcerer. I asked for something citrusy, low sugar, no alcohol, and he handed me a cup of mystery that tasted like a sunset on a fresh start. Give that man a bonus and a playlist deal.
The crowd? Surprisingly lovely. Diverse, relaxed, unbothered. And as someone who usually stiffens up around groups of gays I don’t know (read: trauma, shade, and past brunches), Sean’s friends were actually warm and welcoming. It reshaped some deep-seated expectations I didn’t realize I was still carrying.
All in all, 5 stars for a Tuesday night that gave me community, a tasty mocktail, and a hobby that now requires wrist coordination and a budget.

“I had a VERY long day. At 10:30 PM I remembered Hickory Tavern's 50% off burger is today/Tuesday. Thankfully, I'm only 2 min away from the restaurant. Only 2 customers remained, and the employees were preparing for tomorrow. The manager and the staff was amazing!

“Was a nice grill and bar stop. We dropped in needing a place to eat and it happened to be right near us. The BBQ burger I ordered was good and didn't think it was small at all. The fries were nice and crispy as well! Overall a tasty lunch. The bartender/server was very attentive despite running the bar and tables, impressive.“

“Empire is a Charlotte area chain that makes some great NY Style Pizza. I have been to 4 locations and I think this one is my favorite. Easy to park, always clean, great service and food is always good!
They have some great specials for November!

“This was a really nice place to visit and have a meal. We were in town for business and wanted to eat somewhere other than a chain restaurant. The food here was very good and hot when it arrived at the table. The service was very good and we felt like we were being taken care of. Everyone working there played a part in making sure we had everything we needed. If you like pub food, this is definitely the place to go!!“

“I'm not sure why the reviews for this location is bad. The food was excellent, my man and I went on a Tuesday night, it was empty. We did the 2 for $25 we each got 2 meals and an appetizer. There's an upcharge for the streak and shrimp but portions are large, everything was fresh. Our server Savanah was quick and friendly, checked on us multiple times and gave an update with everything.“

“Both my girls learned to skate here. The program and coaches were engaging and knew how to get the kids moving. Now 3 years later we are a part of the girls hockey program and still love this rink and staff.“
