“I’ve loved Saltfish on CB for years, but the new owners have really kicked it up to a whole new level. I hate to make it more difficult to get a reservation in this cute little tiki bar, but I gotta sing their praises. The service and food have gone from ‘really good’ to ‘omg I’m gonna dream about this meal forever’. I’m currently obsessed with their scallops- they’re served with a stunning curry sauce, fragrant rice, fresh citrus slaw, and Maduros. It’s a beautiful meal and perfectly executed every time. Last night we got the coconut shrimp app, the scallops and their chicken katsu, and then finished it off with their homemade rum cake with candied pineapple and fresh whipped cream. Everything was just incredible. They’re staffed better than they used to be- service is quick and friendly. Expansive menu of tiki drinks. Definitely recommend reservations even in the off season- it’s a tiny spot with limited seating. 10000/10 definitely recommend this little gem.“

“Have lived down here for 5 years. This is the first time we came to Oliver's, and we were not disappointed.! The food was amazing. The server jacqueline, really hustled and bustled with a smile on her face and very, very sweet! My husband is a diabetic and also on dialysis, and has to watch his intake on certain things. And they did his French fries without salt, like we asked, and instead of frying the catfish, he baked it . If I could give jacqueline, a higher than 5 stars. I would .“

“Fishy Fish Cafe was awesome! The food was seriously amazing—super fresh and packed with flavor. The vibe was laid-back, and the staff was super friendly, making the whole experience even better. If you’re around South Point, definitely check this place out. Highly recommend for anyone craving great seafood and a chill spot. Five stars for sure!“

“We made reservations, which is definitely for the best during tourist season and likely all year. The table wasn't quite ready, so we grabbed drinks at the bar and they noted our reservation in order to add to that bill. The bartenders were friendly and working fast. All the food was delicious and our waitress did a wonderful job.“

“A big THANK YOU to Sam from Cape Fear Boil Company for helping make our family beach trip spectacular! The shrimp, mussels and oysters were divine and not having to cook or clean up was a super treat. Do yourself a favor and let Cape Fear Boil cater your seafood boil meal. Thank you, Sam - we truly appreciate your professionalism and kindness! Everything was yumdilly! 🍤 🦪“

“As a lifelong fan of Calabash style seafood (with deviled crab as my favorite) I tried the crab cake sandwich and potato salad. Fabulous! You're going to wait, but it's worth it. And this is waterfront, so enjoy the scenery while you wait for a table. With the alcohol, not as kid-friendly as it could be, but not terrible either. Would be great if they could figure out a takeout process. Friendly fast service. Delicious food. Beautiful setting. Will be back!“

“The food was delicious. The best I had all week during our trip. And the price was really great too. Not overpriced like a couple restaurants in the area. The only issue we had was that there was no waiting area that was comfortable. They have benches out front but the sun made it too hot to sit there and there is no waiting area inside the restaurant.“

“I feel the need to review this place since I had suspicions, but then they were false because it was actually good, and other websites like Yelp and TripAdvisor may not tell you to go there. Horizons is a great/good seafood restaurant located in the Bald Head Island Club. I love the golf carts, and good thing they had a parking space for them- which was meant to keep them from being too hot since it was covered by a roof. The elevator is very unique: you step in one one side, and you go out the other once you're there. Originally I thought it'd be like the sign on the front (that kind of restaurants judging from it), but it wasn't. It looked better than that. We sat outside with a party of 7, and our server was the myth, the (wo)man, the legend: Taylor. She was very nice and lightened the atmosphere for us. Whenever it was too sunny, she didn't mind the whole switching the entire seating of the table around kind of thing. She is very comical, too. Anyways, for appetizers, our table got the Crab Dip and a Pub Pretzel. I do not know what was in that crab dip (except crab), but HOLY SMOKES THAT WAS INCREDIBLE. It reminded me of some other dish, and I loved it. Pretzel was also good. For entrees, our table ordered 2 things of chicken tenders, buffalo wings, a caesar salad (maybe a different one), a Cape Fear burger, the shrimp or scallop risotto (i couldn't remember since I'm writing this the day after the meal), and the pan-seared Halibut. The food was good, but not amazing. For Bald Head standards, I'll give this a 5 star. For my regular standards, I'll give it a 4.
Also, I believe the seagulls raided some table at the far back. Although that happened, it was pretty funny to me.“

“They moved locations recently. They're on the opposite corner of the building they were at before (backside).
My mother and I dropped in for lunch after the beach & walking the boardwalk. It was refreshingly cool in there, temperature & scenery wise. A small place, with not much seating, but they made it work! We shared the pick 2, got flounder & shrimp. Not too shabby for the price. (Only one shrimp wasn't deveined) OH, great jams playing ?
Parking: There's street parking or a few different lots to choose from (depending on how far you want to walk). Paid, ofc. Peak season, get it early!
Wheelchair accessibility: Indeed, it is.“

“Hands down the best restaurant in Brunswick County! The food is consistently spectacular, and I love how the menu is always evolving — it keeps things exciting and fresh. It’s refreshing to dine somewhere that truly values creativity. The drinks are expertly crafted, and the desserts are absolutely out of this world. We come here all the time, and the staff is hands-down the friendliest and most attentive we’ve ever encountered. An all-around amazing experience every single visit!“

“My husband and I were celebrating our 18th year anniversary and we randomly picked this restaurant because it was close to the house. We were not disappointed. When we got there we had to wait a bit for our table but had so much fen meeting and chatting with the hostess and one of the waitresses. I forgot how nice the people of NC are considering we come from DC and the service was TOP NOTCH. They were out of mozzarella sticks that night but we got the bang bang shrimp and it was delicious. The Pear Martinis were delicious and refreshing. Not sure if I remembered the waitress’s name but she was fun inviting and on her A game. When we left the waitress gave us a card and when I got home and opened it was so touched by the fact that everyone had signed it. Needless to say we closed out the place that night and the following night went back because the experience was so nice. The next night they remembered us and we known as the favorite couple. Made our weekend special. The girls and staff and amazing.“

“I have been buying food here for the last couple of weeks. The food is delicious, the amount is generous and the price is reasonable. I have been ordering the food to go. So, I can't give an opinion about the atmosphere. If you live in the area, I encourage you to support local businesses like this one. They serve an important role in the local economy and the dinamic of the workforce. Keep up the good work Taste of China.“

“They no longer serve food and are strictly a bar but they said that you can bring food in. The drink prices seemed to be the best on the boardwalk and the bartender was very friendly and accomodating. They open early and are very close to the beach.
No beers on tap but will provide an ice cold pint glass on request. Oldest bar in the area established in 1957.
Not a whole lot going on decor or asthetic wise but they did have some nice tv's that were actually playing some normal stuff for a bar (a baseball game) which was really refreshing after visiting a few other bars that either didn't have tvs or were playing really odd channels.“
