“If visiting in winter, be aware that there are only like 8 indoor seats so you either hope to get lucky or get takeout. The arepa itself (not even talking about the toppings) is outstanding. The portion is generous so one order of arepa is enough for a meal (for me at least). Tasty nonalcoholic drink options.“

“Fantastic meal last night at Jargon! The ginger carrot 🥕 soup was incredible. We paired it with Asparagus and risotto. The strawberry dessert was amazing and the after dinner drinks with espresso beans were perfection.“

“We went in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was quiet. They brewed fresh coffee for us (very good coffee) and made a wonderful breakfast! The shop was spotless and the food quickly was outstanding. I don't know where they found fresh high quality avacodos , strawberries, and blueberries, but they did! Highly recommend this establishment!“

“I first learned about Bad Manners Coffee from their Instagram page and general social media presence. When I saw the sign as I drove through WAVL I was so excited I had to drop in to finally check it out. I tried a classic iced latte with house-made strawberry syrup added and a jalapeño bagel. The latte was the perfect amount of sweet without being cloying and the bagel was warm, buttery, flaky, and had the absolute barest hint of spice. I love spice so would have enjoyed a little more but it’s mild enough that you could give it to a slightly adventurous child and they would excitedly tell you “I ate something spicy” and you could smile knowingly.
I sat out on their small one-table patio to eat my breakfast and drink my coffee. I’m happy they have it as an option but I will say it felt slightly precarious as the deck slopes downward and there is a gap between the concrete slab at the door and the wood of the patio flooring. Elderly and disabled folks should avoid this area due to the uneven footing and safety concerns but the interior is accessible and has tables.
They put up billowing and gauzy curtains and artificial plant wall coverings over lattice work to evoke a sense of privacy between the surrounding businesses and the perpetual construction happening behind the building.
The music that played seemed to be a calm and ambient mixture of Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, and other female singer-songwriters of similar genres. The aesthetics of the interior are bright and artsy with pink walls and leafy green plant life and create a comfortably welcoming atmosphere.
Bad Manners Coffee also seems to partner with some local artists as there were cards/mini-prints and stickers available for sale with individual payment options via Venmo available. We love a local business that supports local artists!
The two baristas I encountered were warm, professional, kind, and helpful. They gave recommendations on drinks and food to myself and all following customers without being pushy or sounding like they were performing from a script. Both ladies also had exceptionally lovely smiles and hairstyles!!
I had a wonderful visit and I will be back time and again now that I know this little corner of peace exists.“

“DSSOLVR Brewing was a great stop. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the beer lineup stood out. The PB & J Turbo Fluff and the Crab Rangoon sours are must-tries. Unique, flavorful, and way better than you’d expect from such wild concepts. I bought 6 4 packs to go it was so good. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.“

“We live just north of the village and come here often. Love Yellow Mug! Order at the counter, find a table indoors or out, they will find you when your food is ready. Terrific fresh-ground coffee, creative breakfasts, sandwiches, salads (I love The One with Quinoa and Butternut Squash—yes, that is its name). Very fresh food, veg/vegan and GF options, beer and wine, excellent wifi….one of our favorite places!!!“

“The atmosphere and drinks were amazing! However we arrived around 5 o’clock and were told no coffee after 4pm - but they had coffee for cocktails. It was upsetting for our designated driver who was looking forward to enjoying a coffee while we had cocktails. Hoping this rule will change so we can enjoy a responsible night out in the future!“
“I make my own ginger ale and this has made mine tasting like trash. The tulsi tea was exceptional as well. This has definitely been the most enjoyable ginger beer I have had.“

“We have lived in Asheville for about 15 years and have been eating Suzy’s food since there was only a food truck. It’s nourishing, delicious, and always filling, not to mention very fairly priced! The ownership and staff are amazing and have always been welcoming to myself and all of my diverse groups of friends and family. We love Gypsy Queen!“

“We’ve passed by so many times and always see a bunch of cars. We finally stopped in last night and we are so glad we did. Drinks were great, our server was fantastic. I think her name was Gretta. She gave us food suggestions and was very attentive. Food was great. Hubby had the Sea Bass special and I had the pork belly and scallops. Both delicious. The baklava pie was out of this world. I think we will be stopping by again while we are visiting. Highly recommended. Lots of people waiting for a table and take out. We loved the vibe and decor.“

“This was hands down one of the best breakfast spots we tried during our weekend getaway to Asheville. My boyfriend and I both got a bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit which was out of this world!! Reminded us of authentic southern homemade cooking, something hard to come by with many chain or franchise restaurants. Highly recommend giving this hidden gem a try!“

“I requested a 2 night stay in my Harvest Host / Boondockers app. I got a quick approval in mins. The brewery was easy to get to, had lots of parking & there was a small local band playing when I arrived. Sky was my very friendly bartender. I asked for a beer suggestion than was on the lighter side. He suggested the Cowboy Poet. He was spot on. I also ordered food from the pizza place. Was really delicious. I got to see Sky on my second night also. I would definitely revisit. The information & description of what to expect were exact. Thank you for sharing your business with the camping community.“

“Great food, service, & beer selection! The fried pepperoni & cheese curds were delicious. My wife liked the firecracker shrimp Alfredo, but said it had some spice. The Greek platter was amazing as well. I got the combination to try both the lamb & chicken. The chicken tasted like souvlaki & was good, but I favored the lamb. I typically would order an old fashioned, but they did not have large blocks of ice. Given what Helene’s impact on western NC, I was happy to see this restaurant thriving & folks in good spirit. This place is a gem for the community, and I highly recommend.“
“I’m blessed to live within walking distance of this gem. If you appreciate a variety of well made beers that may entice you to try something different. Located on Haywood Rd. Across from The Odd, sit outside and enjoy your beer on another Glorious Day in Asheville. Share & Enjoy.🙏🍺🇺🇸“

“Mad Co specializes in beer and pizza. Both are fresh and excellent. Te kitchen is open so you can watch them prepare the food. The bartendress was very helpful and knowledgeable about their products, the history of Mad Co, and their efforts to recover from hurricane Hellene. It was quiet for an early Saturday evening because Marshall, NC is still recovering from Hellene. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer or two, some pizza, and help everyone there continue to recover from the devastation. Everyone we met were pleasant and appreciative for us to be there. God bless and take care.“

“This is my favorite brewery in Asheville. We fell in love with this brewery their first time we visited. Beers are creative and dark beers so delicious. And the food is to die for. Last evening Steak Po-Boy is simply the best we have ever had! Absolutely gourmet food in this brewery. We consider this as our dinner place and not just a brewery. This is THE must visit brewery for all our visitors. The venue is casual with quirky spots and many different hangout areas. We have huddled with friends in the winter months under shelter, enjoy music in the lower zone, hang out in the rooftop areas or just in the many tables around. We like the sister Forestry Camp too.“

I’m not much of a gardener and I don’t have the best natural instinct when it comes to floral arrangements, but Tyler helped me feel at ease and created a beautiful floral arrangement for my wedding. “This was a wonderful way to spend a few hours. We sat on the porch with wine and some snacks from the wnc farmer’s market in Asheville, and then enjoyed a tasting with Michelle. She was delightful. She answered all of our questions about the property and the town, really connecting our experience to her and the family.“
