“Straight from the pizza palaces of yesteryear is Garden Deli & Pizzaria. Delicious pizza, great wings, and perfect mozzarella sticks are a plenty here. There is also a sweet black cat outside; a sign of the kind and skilled people who operate the establishment.”

“Great service, good food. The nice cashier lady uses half dollar coins to make change. You don't see that very often. The staff works hard to serve up good breakfast and lunch fare..I'll be stopping in again!”

“The little downtown area of Manteo is very cozy, and a favorite spot to visit when we come to the outer banks. I finally got around to visiting the Tavern, and wasn't disappointed at all. The location is gorgeous, right next to the Manteo lighthouse and boardwalk on the Sound. The restaurant definitely has the Irish Pub vibes upon entering. The wait staff were all friendly, and the food was awesome. The fish n chips were the best I've had anywhere to date. I really admired how they use whatever the local catch of the day is. Mine was Swordfish, which is a delicious dense fish that was perfect for fish n chips. Being a "beer guy", I also loved the 'Lost Colony Brewery' selections, particularly the Stout which was very reminiscent of Guinness Stout. The loaded chips were also delicious and very filling. Needless to say, I walked in, but waddled out lol. I'll definitely make it a point to come back when I visit the Outer Banks!”

“Ortega'z - what a GREAT gem! Heard about this restaurant on Guys Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives; and boy, it not disappoint! The pulled pork nachos appetizer was absolutely HUGE and AMAZING! YES, all caps is necessary. We also ordered two entrees - fish tacos and also Buffalo chicken tacos. Both came with 3 tacos, and rice and beans. Everything was so delicious and the portion sizes were great! Great prices for the amount of food you receive. Oh, and the service was great also! Will be returning very soon!”

“Just had their sweet potato biscuit with ham. It was delicious. Also had their peanut butter pie previously. It was the best I every had. If you are in Manteo you have to stop in and give them a try. They are only open til 12:30. You won't be disappointed.”

“My parents live in manteo, and I usually stop by the laughing lollipop when visiting. I love the atmosphere and the people that work here are super kind. They always have a good selection of candy and ice cream, you can’t go wrong!”

“This has become my weekly stop. I work one day a week on the island and can't wait for my stop for Dunkin'! I don't drink coffee, but they have the best hot chocolate with a little vanilla added. They also offer avocado toast with BACON, who could ask for more!
They are usually quick, always smile, and the food or drinks are as expected- hot drinks hot, iced drinks cold.”

“This restaurant has server shortages but has worked out an excellent process of high quality service and food to make up for it. You will need to order at the counter even if eating inside but they thank you for helping them with this . The salad bar is not active now but might be added back.”

“We made reservations for 4:30 , had 14 in our group. Food has always been good but tonight's service was horrible. We had 6:00 tickets for Christmas lites & had to leave before ever getting our food. Other tables seated 15 to 20 minutes AFTER us got served. Will never recommend or go back again 😕”
