“It was alright. It is hard to score without comparing to other Irish pubs. As it's own restaurant, it is pretty good. But it is lacking a bit compared to other places like it. The location is clean, but almost too new looking. It does not look authentic. The waitress seemed annoyed. Still tipped her well.“

The Winchester Pub and Bottle Shop Bar • $$
6164 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh

“To describe the atmosphere is very difficult. Imagine if you walk in to a pub and you can see that the owners poured their heart and soul into creating an environment that would promote community and love of futbol, beer, and positivity. Want to learn more about beer? Want to learn more about soccer? Want to walk out of a place feeling better than when you walked in? This is that kind of place. I have flirted with moving downtown and yet I am walking distance to the Winchester. I will most likely stay anchored close to my watering hole. "That's right it's better than yours. Damn right it's better than yours."“

“The first watering hole I walked into was when I moved to Raleigh in January of 2009. It's still my favorite melting pot of Raleigh. The bar is beautiful, and the staff and owners are amazing in their own right. Come grab a pint and join the fun/conversation at the bar! Outdoor space is really nice as well.“

“The food and drinks are really good, especially love to get the Shrimp Po Boys. It is hard to find a good one this side of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and this one is good. Also offering Buffalo version of the Po Boy. Have had some issues with service at times. You have to wait for attention and drinks frequently ran out while waiting. But the food is good and the atmosphere is good pub/sports bar with more than 2 TVs.“

“My husband & I had one of our first dates here & went here after we were married. He's from Scotland & loves a good fish & chips. They do offer Cod or Haddock. In the UK it's always Haddock. He felt the dish could have been hotter & that it was sitting under the warmer. Service was unremarkable, she seemed tired.Absolutely love the decor, feels like a pub in Scotland, save the super high ceilings....lol.....Will always go back for nostalgia.“

“Some great food items, the Maria quesadilla with shrimp is really good, make sure Maria is there to make it. Sunday breakfast omelettes all day, I like to get grits and hash browns or home fries with the hearty omelette. Good Burgers here, worth the money here, don’t be afraid to edit them. Upgrading to buffalo chips (seasoned potato slices fried) from fries for 2 bucks is worth every penny. Fries are also good. Great shrimp tacos for 3 bucks on Wednesday. Wings are pretty good, they’re on special Tuesday, garlic parm sauce style are delicious. Best 4 dollar side salad I get weekly too. Good people come here too for brewskies and/or shots, I love the regulars here. Thanks for reading.“

“This was our first time at this restaurant. We walked from PNC arena to get dinner here before a concert. I still don't know who technically was our server because so many of them stopped by to make sure we were doing okay and get what we needed. My biggest issue was the booth we were seated at, had a row of counter seating right beside it that you felt like they were on top of you. That was a little bit awkward. Other than that, the food was good and the service was great!“
