“My husband and I stopped in on Friday night and sat at the bar, as we prefer to do. We were promptly served by Nick, and he was fantastic! We had a few small plates and they were all fantastic! We finished with the deconstructed bread pudding. Not something we normally eat, but it was ridiculously tasty!! If we were local we’d be there on a regular basis. It will definitely be a must the next time we are in town!“

“I picked up dinner from here on my way home to Scaly Mountain tonight. I’ve heard about this place and always wanted to try it. I was really impressed with the decor and atmosphere. It’s very cozy and clean. Dinner and desserts were delicious. The gentleman who took my order and the woman who packaged up my desserts were both very friendly. I’ll definitely be recommending this place and coming to eat here again. It’s nice to have a restaurant so close to home that has great food and great service.“

“We just discovered this jewell of a kuntry Cafe. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was great and atmosphere quaint. This is a great cafe and my regret today is that we have passed by here over the years and never realized the treasure we were missing.“

“I traveled from Blairsville, Ga to obtain my favorite Yogurt "Coconut Culture" as it 'works' for my issues. I was delighted not to travel to Chattanooga or elsewhere to obtain it. I saved $20 per pint off of online ordering. Thank you! See you soon!“
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would highly recommend the Highlands wine shop! This was my first visit to the Highlands Wine Shoppe in The Highlands NC. The store is located in a charming White House off Main Street. The owners and staff were super friendly and informative the minute we walked in the door. There are many places to sit comfortably and try the wines. Quite a few people were sitting outside when we walked up. That have a cozy fire pit and some heaters for cooler weather. Inside the store is warm and inviting. There is a comfortable room to the right with a couch and fireplace. Then there are other tables throughout the store. There is a wine pouring system that you purchase a card from the front desk and then you can insert it to try the different wines available. If you don’t use the full amount on your card they will store it for you under your name for a future visit. My husband had that done for me. It makes a great gift! There are different size pours available. You can do a small taste or a enjoy a full glass. They had a very nice selection available. The owners and staff members were very helpful in explaining the different wine’s to taste. The shop is run by two fun female Sommelier’s. It was amazing to me to watch them in action. They really know their stuff! They can describe each wine just perfectly. We had such a good time! My husband and I chose to sit in the main room where we met lots of fun people who were visiting the store. Some of them had their dogs with them too. I love that it was dog friendly! The wine selection goes all the way from budget friendly up to a premier selection in a private room. We bought four bottles on our visit. Two of them were from ones that we had tasted and discovered and the other two were some of our personal favorites. We hope to be back first a visit soon! Cheers! ???“

“we took eight of our friends from The over the hill hiking group to eat there on July 24. We ate on the back deck which was very pleasant and undercover. The brisket was great all the sides were great. Everybody was happy with their food. It was even better than I remember from my previous visit. Wright before close we even got to see a bear. Try to get into the dumpster, which was quite entertaining.. we will be back.“

“We just ate here today December 7 Sunday afternoon. Wait staff were all amazing and polite. Food was amazing, flavorful, tender meats and cooked wonderful. The chips were perfect and no one missed up our order despite some of our party being allergic to certain things. Highly recommend this Mexican Restaurant“

“Came in late on a Sunday afternoon about an hour before closing. Greeted and seated promptly. Had a choice of indoor or outdoor seating but chose inside as the sun was going down. I ordered the Waterfall Beef and my wife got the ravioli. My dish was very good with tender beef and crispy veggies. Just the right balance of sauce. My wife enjoyed hers and there was plenty to take home for a snack later for her. Mine totally vaporized somehow. Plenty of free parking right in the downtown area. Extensive wine list. Highly recommend.“

“We absolutely love the Dillard house stables! My toddler is obsessed with the petty area and horses, we spend hours and hours just hanging out. The staff is the absolute best! We’ve done several parent led horse rides for my 3 year old and each time is quick, safe, and so fun. I can’t recommend them enough!“

“What do you do when the hurricane turns right, instead of left on your wedding weekend? Answer: you have the wedding of your dreams if you are at the Vineyard at High Holly. Paulina and Joel worked 18 months on their dream September 28, 2024 wedding. Forecasters expected Hurricane Helene to make landfall and turn west so guests arrived early to avoid travel delays. Then Helene turned east and sat over western North Carolina. The road to Highlands washed out, many trees fell, and there was no power, water, cell service, internet or WIFI at High Holly. The rental vendor cancelled, and we had no idea if the cake, DJ, or photographers would appear. Fortunately, the wedding planner had arrived, but her assistants were stranded in Asheville along with the hair and makeup people. Lesley went into full problem-solving mode and found a way to overcome all obstacles including to provide everything expected from the rental company. Eric went through 8 chain saws clearing downed trees. Michelle strapped on a headlamp and started cooking in the dark. Everyone dug in and made sure that the wedding was everything that the bride and groom dreamt of. I cannot imagine a more dedicated, hard-working and compassionate group! And the wedding…the most magical, fun and beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to! Weddings take much planning, hard work and come with great heartfelt expectations. Many times, hiccups arise. When choosing the wedding venue, anticipate how the venue will handle the surprises. The Vineyard at High Holly proved that they didn’t let a devastating hurricane come in the way of fulfilling Paulina and Joel’s dream wedding. We are forever grateful to Lesley, Eric, Michelle and the High Holly family!! (Apologies that it took me a year to write this). Kay“
