“1st time dining there, past this place a hundred times in my life living in SC coming to Monroe, decided to give it a try fr breakfast. OMG it was like breaking w a movie,lol the staff was awesome and we set at the bar with a great view of the kitchen, those peps know there job and do it well, all this is going on while the Price is Right was played on TV. Talk about a 70s throw down. We don't have places like this in our home town. The food was great best pancakes I've ate since my grandmother was alive......We will be coming back to the Palace to eat again. Keep it up guys!“

“Quick and friendly service. Fill your own drinks. To go cups are offered at time of order. We have eaten here several times and we have never been disappointed. We are usually a little over full because the burgers are large. The big tasty is my go to menu item with tots. It is one the top burgers I have ever had. I really enjoy the tots here also. Tawnee usually gets the shroom burger without onions and always tries to finish it. The fries are very good also, but I’m partial to the tots. We will continue to eat here on a regular basis. They have daily specials on the chalkboard when you come in the door. Plenty of clean seating has been available for us when we have been here. The only slight negative is decor for seating could use an uplift, but it is still okay and it is comfortable enough.Parking: Tons of close parking is available“

“Fantastic freshly made gluten free menu with many nice lunch options. We are in the courtyard and had a wonderful experience. My husband is gluten sensitive so his burger bun was perfect as well as the hand cut french fries. I had a side salad with pickled yellow beets. I had a delicious special of a bang bang fish po boy. It was just like a New Orleans special. The server mentioned that all their fry batter is gluten free. We will definitely be back. “Tried the Bistro out on a whim and we were really impressed. We come a few times a month now! The ambiance inside is a small, quaint bistro vibe and eating outside is a real treat. Service is amazing and the food has been phenomenal. Only bummer is having to go inside to register to pay instead of being able to pay your server which is fine, just kinda annoying. We had the fried chicken salad, burger, quesadillas, Alfredo, chicken tenders, fries, and ice cream cookie sandwiches and ALL WERE DELICIOUS! “This is my first time (as an adult) going to Jud's. My mom used to eat here (and bring it home after working) when I was a little boy. I had the day off today, so I tried this for breakfast, and the food was great, and PLENTIFUL. I AM FULL! A couple of well cooked pork chops, some scrambled eggs, toast, AND hash browns, made for a great breakfast. The wait staff was nice, and for my first time inside this place that I grew up seeing for so many years, it was a nice experience. I'll definitely be back here (maybe on Fish Wednesday or Friday ?).“

“As you pass the Skinny Cook, it looks like a hole in a wall restaurant, but it's much more. It's where you eat home cooked meals with family or friends. It's a well-known place by all locals in Monroe. It stays busy for breakfast and lunch. The prices are very reasonable, you can't beat it. I had lunch there and ordered the loaded tots and chicken wings. The wings were spicy but not super hot, just right. The loaded tots came with tons of melted cheese and bacon bits. Absolutely delicious ?.“

The peppercorn ranch really went well with the raw fries. ? Our waiter, Jeremy, was so friendly & very knowledgeable about the menu. “My dad and I love love love the Village Grill. After my mom died my dad & I were looking for somewhere to go and have a nice breakfast or lunch & we found it. We feel so at home at the Village, that’s what my dad calls it, from the food which is phenomenal and the decor, which we love. The staff is above and beyond anything we could ever have imagined. I've been to this location multiple times and each time the food has been warm, and the prices reasonable. My only gripe is they let me run out of sweet tea in my glass on multiple occasions, which is my identifier if a server is worthy of a great tip. This location is usually very busy around the lunch / dinner hours while there are always seats available, the business does affect the waiter's ability to provide adequate service.“

“Hands down, the best fried chicken in Monroe and probably Union County as a whole. We needed some takeout after a busy day, so we decided to get some Hathaway's chicken to take home. Our past experiences have been fabulous; we were hooked after trying their biscuits for the first time. One of the staff members told us that they grate frozen butter into the biscuit dough. The chicken crust tastes like fatback. It's crispy and full of flavor, while the chicken is juicy. We also love their potato wedges since they're crispy. Additionally, we tried some of their slaw this time and it has a great texture. The experience we had tonight was no different than any of our past experiences, even despite a 45 minute drive home. For sure better than a fast food chicken restaurant!“

“6/16/23. A group of 20 of my sewing group ate at Mr G's, trying out the restaurant under new ownership. A couple of mix ups, when one of our guys got someone's vegetarian gyro. Got that quickly solved, and he decided that it was delicious too! Hot onion rings with real onion, great gizzard, pork chops, fish sandwich, hamburgers. All was fresh and hot from the kitchen and great service! We are very happy with the new "Mr G's", even though we miss Bill and the crew who had served us so well over the years.
