“Maxwell's is a fantastic little spot in downtown Waxhaw. It's also very popular, which is great for the restaurant, but makes it a challenge when we wanted to have lunch today. The place was packed with a bunch of people waiting outside. We put our name on the list and were told it would be about 40 minutes. No biggie, Waxhaw has plenty to offer while we wait. It's so good that this place is so well known and popular.Today I got the Grilled Salmon Salad. The salad is what is to be expected - fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons, hard boiled egg. Everything was fresh and tasty. On top was a spectacular piece of salmon, grilled perfectly and arrived smelling like Sunday brunch, as it was cured with maple syrup. That made it very unique. Interestingly, the aroma was wonderful, but the flavor just wasn't there. The fish itself tasted great, but the maple never really hit my tastebuds. Could be because it was lightly blackened (by design) and the crust formed there took away some of the sweetness? The fish was great, don't get me wrong, but it smelled better than it tasted. When we return, I'll get it again. I just wish the taste had a stronger maple flavor. Our pescatarian middle schooler got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. The sticks seemed pretty standard fare, but our kid really raved about how good the hummus was.As for the atmosphere, the room is bright and inviting, with classic looking tools and components on the walls. Plenty of TV's with sports. Although it was one room that was packed with people, we could still hear ourselves and carry on conversations at our table. Maxwell's loses a start for atmosphere because the tables were too jam packed together. Servers and patrons alike kept bumping into our chairs as they walked by (but everyone was polite about it). I was guilty of this too when navigating to the bathroom, as I couldn't avoid chairs which were back-to-back on my way across the room. We were seated near the bar, which is where people would stand around while waiting for a table. For some of the meal, a gentleman's behind was hovering right over my wife's shoulder as were waiting for our food to arrive. The constant bumping took away a little from our experience. If we were in a booth, we probably wouldn't have been impacted.Maxwell's is a fabulous restaurant and is a great reason to visit downtown Waxhaw!Vegetarian options: Our kid is a pescatarian and got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. They said it was really good hummus, so that's good. There are plenty of salads to choose from, plus a garden burger.Parking: Street parking is okay, with parallel parking on one side and angled parking on the other. You can always park around the corner on South Providence Street too.Kid-friendliness: There were plenty of kids in the restaurant from toddlers to middle schoolers. There's a kids menu with crayons too.“
“Very affordable good food with great service. It's a 4 star only because of the wait time.I wish they had a system that would mimic a reservation, like getting in a "virtual" line. In fact the outside feels more chaotic than the inside.Once you get seated though, you'll forget that you had to wait that long.“
“We’ve always enjoyed our visits. Each time back seems better than the last. Tonight, Reed delivered excellent service with outstanding personality. The food was fantastic. Great food, great wine priced fairly, exceptional service, all together in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Thank you to Reed for making sure this was our best visit yet!“
“Amazing. Sometimes the weight staff is extremely slow but worth it when you get the food. But do not ever order dessert to go. It’s very disappointing to spend $12 and get these for your dessert. You don’t even get the mint or the raspberry“
“If you haven't had the pleasure of trying this phenomenal restaurant in maxhaw please trust me, I'm a foodie and holy cow it's consistently amazing! The owners are the best and truly take ownership in this place! You won't be disappointed ?“
“We always have a great experience here. The loaded tots are the best. The street corn is uniquely made but very good. Wings are always cooked perfectly. We have not had a bad flavor combination yet. Very friendly staff. A favorite of my family.“
“I've been wanting to try this place for so long! (I'm usually a famous toastery kinda girl lol)I am sold ! The million dollar bacon? Worth at least 2 million! The Hawaiian French toast.... so good! Luis our server gave excellent suggestions and was very patient with my husband's picky requests (much for patient that myself lol) . We will definitely be back to eat again!“
“My wife and I had a fantastic dinner experience at 131 Main! The atmosphere is perfect for upscale casual dining - inviting and stylish. Our server, Kellie, was top-notch. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure our experience was great. The food came out incredibly fast, in about 10 minutes, and everything was piping hot. We could tell the ingredients were fresh by the taste and perfect seasoning. I had the slow roasted chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken itself was juicy and flavorful, and the smashed potatoes were a perfect complement. My wife ordered the crabcakes, and they were loaded with succulent crabmeat. The sauce was also amazing! We highly recommend 131 Main and will definitely be back to try more of their menu.“
“Easter brunch with their seasonal menu. Chips & quacamole ✔️ Smokehouse platter with beef brisket & BBQ rotisserie chicken; brisket was good?but the chicken was just just so-so. Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas; seafood tasted fresh. Ginger's Best Friend; ok but next time think I'd try the Botanical Mule. Service was good.“
“We have been regular guests at the Indian Land Famous Toastery for over 3 years now. The entire staff has always been friendly and welcoming.About 95% of the time we are taken care by Tyler and I can’t remember a visit that he has been anything less than fantastic. This restaurant is always busy, but Tyler is always calm, accommodating and pleasing. In a time that consistent, great service and food are incredibly difficult to find, this one has got it down pat.“
“I have eaten at the Tap and Vine twice in two weeks. The dining experience is above and beyond the dining experiences I've had at other restaurants recently. The food is absolutely delicious! Very fresh. We've tried a couple of bottles of wine that did not disappoint. The wait staff is on it! I can't wait to go back for more! It's nice to finally find an intimate setting to enjoy with family and friends.“
“The food is very good, delicious and perfect. The service is excellent, the treatment is very wonderful, and the waiters serve the food professionally. The restaurant has very high quality also. I am very happy with my experience at this restaurant, so I will go again there and I will recommend it to my friends.“
“First time at Bad Daddy’s, I was pleasantly surprised how good my spicy chicken burger was. It was a perfect blend of well cooked fried chicken with some spice and sweetness. The burger needed nothing else except I had to ask for some avocado because it did not have enough. The appetizer we chose was the poblano pepper strips with the spicy aioli (which was so flavorful). My daughter ordered the groomed cheese which we will not be ordering again. There was hardly cheese and the card too thick with no Mayo or anything to make moist and the broccoli had no seasoning!! My husband ordered a burger with lots of meat and he truly enjoyed but he did ask for the spicy aioli because it was a bit dry although cooked medium well. The place is busy but my complaint I’d that the tables are way too close to each other and the waiter had to be called over to our table because we did not see her in a while. I will say I can appreciate the ability of being able to order a side salad and customize it.“
“My wife and I are pastrami lovers. We moved from around New York area and missed a good pastrami. We’ve been looking for a good pastrami place in charlotte area. My wife found Katz deli on line and we decided to give it a try. Oh my goodness, let me tell you our experience. We each took 1/2lb pastrami without knowing how good it was going to be. What a great decision we made. The taste was amazing and mouth watering. It was that good. The staff were so amazing. It took a minute late to get my order but it was worth it bc they made fresh rye bread. The girl who took care of the order kept me updated that they’re waiting for the fresh bread as I ordered more rye bread. While I was waiting I saw more repeat customers coming in. The place was packed. Next I’m going to try corned beef. My hats off to the owner. Please keep up the great job you’re doing. ?“
“Wow. First off service was very southern and hospitable. The waitress made an effort to check in and give suggestions as it was out first time. She even went over the different sauces that were on the table! The food was great as well. Our appetizer was the chicarrons and they were still sizzlings, so extra pints on that. We got a meat bbq platter and the salmon meal. Both had their fare share of salt but I enjoyed the experience of North Carolina bbq. The aesthetic of the restaurant also makes this place memorable. You have the history in the building and nice spot in the center of town.“
“The food was excellent. Several choices for wine and the pinot from Washington was a good one. Our server knew the wines and was able to explain their characteristics. The menu could be more expansive; however, there is still something for everyone.“
“Showmars Indian Land is fabulous for a delicious meal takeout. I call in an order for pickup - highly recommend their Greek salad with grilled chicken - for a delicious and healthy meal when time is limited, or you just want a delicious lunch or dinner without any hassle. They’re friendly, fast, and food never disappoints!“
“Craving a delicious chicken burger? Look no further than Burger 21! This was my second visit, and I wasn't disappointed. As someone who usually avoids red meat, the Monterey Chicken is a perfect option. It's packed with flavor and comes highly recommended. While the fries weren't quite homemade (they use frozen ones), they were surprisingly good! I'd rate them a solid 6.5/10. Overall, the delicious food and friendly atmosphere will definitely have me coming back for more.“
“As long as there are restaurants like this, I'll try to avoid the usual burger chains! The service is friendly with heart, humor and well organized. The ladies have everything under control. The food is made to order, is tasty and the portions are generous. The ambience fits and creates the flair. The restaurant loses one star because of the outside toilets.“
“Food that was correct was good. Standard level pub food. Waitress was very attentive. I can't say whether my order was taken incorrectly or made incorrectly by kitchen but mine was a cheesesteak & was incorrect missing the extra cheese & had mushrooms on it which was asked to be removed. Flavor of food wasn't knock your socks off great but I was satisfied. Desserts were spot on. I would return & recommend.Kid-friendliness: Kids menus, kids cups, kids milk. Good for them.“
“The extensive gluten free menu is perfect for my husband who is gluten intolerant. He ordered the Maxx burger gluten free with truffle french fries. I had the crab topped haddock with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Our server Chris was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped me pick out a nice glass of chardonnay. We will definitely be back. “A friend invited me to lunch at Brown Bag and I was pretty impressed. The parking is up a ramp and in the lot beside a bank. There were a few spots open when I got there. No issues. The atmosphere is not a big deal here. Fairly simple. The service - man who took our order was super friendly and cheerful. Two pats on the back. The food - at first I thought it was a bit expensive for lunch. The name brown bag made me think it would be mostly sandwiches. However, it was very fresh and hearty - well worth the price. The servings were very generous. Look at all of that meat!I got the teriyaki chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Super delicious! The purpose - had to look up what the purpose is that is their tag line. They provide meals for sick or shut in people if ordered 24 hours in advance. Amazing mission and heart to serve others well. I love that!“
“My first impression was "This is my kind of place"! The front staff were polite and attentive. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived, so we had a seat in the bar. If you're a bourbon enthusiast, this is a great watering hole! Brittany, the bartender, makes a fantastic Old Fashioned! We were seated soon after and enjoyed our brunch fare. The truffle deviled eggs were DEVINE! We both had eggs Benedict. I had mine with crab, and my friend had the traditional. Everything was outstanding! From beginning to end. We will definitely be returning. 10/10“
“Food came out hot and fresh from the kitchen. Stuffed grape leaves were flavorful and the spinach pie was good. Only minor complaint was cashier charged a credit card fee when bill was paid with cash. Had to point out they overcharged, which seemed to confuse the cashier on how to refund it.“
“Queen City Craft and Gourmet has been a staple lunch location for our family since they opened. The menu rotates through the seasons, the beer choices are amazing and also rotate, and the staff is always polite and helpful.Today I ordered my usual, greek salad, this time with grilled chicken. When it is in season, the trout is an amazingly prepared protein to top a delicious salad here. However, the chicken does the job when there is no trout on the menu - it's grilled just fine. The greens here are always fresh, the olives are full of flavor and perfectly salty, and the tomatoes are sliced big and juicy. The highlight of the salad are the huge triangles of feta, which make for a delicious treat of flavor mixed into the salad. I don't care for peppers, but my wife loves them so she always happily picks them out of my salad for me.I also ordered a side dish of Salt & Pepper Brussels. Oh my goodness they always come out roasted to perfection. Just enough oil, just enough seasoning, and cooked to bring out just amazing flavors. This little side dish is my favorite thing on the menu. The staff, including the owner, was wonderful as always. Friendly as can be, greeting customers as they enter and making sure to thank us as we were leaving. This is a place that genuinely appreciates all customers and definitely makes that obvious. You will feel extremely welcome coming to Queen City Craft and Gourmet for a meal or a drink. The friendliness of the atmosphere cannot be beat here, but I did take a star away from this category just because the design of the interior space is just okay.Overall, we highly recommend Queen City Craft and Gourmet to anyone looking for an incredible meal with amazing drink choices and the friendliest of staff. You will come away appreciating your food while feeling appreciated for being a patron.Parking: It's a very big shopping center with plenty of parking. No issues.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu, but really the adult menu has many appetizers and side dishes to make any kid happy. Today our kid ordered 2 sides of shrimp as their meal and they were quite satisfied.“
“Stopped in after church on Easter Sunday & surprised by a not so busy location. This gem was worth the stop. Our server, Veronica was great ! Her personality made it easy to have a short conversation and definitely added to our great experience here. Food came out quickly, hot & ready to eat. Would definitely recommend this location to others.Thank you!Parking: Plaza of multiple locations shared parking“
“We hired Dan & Debbie to cater our sons graduation party for 60 people! The food arrived on time, hot and tasted amazing!!! It was a hit and all the brisket, turkey & chicken wing went fast! We ordered enough, but people went back for 2nd & 3rds! Banana pudding was the “excellent” cherry on top! They are our favorite BBQ place in town, especially the Brisket!!!“
“The food hamburgers and hotdogs were delicious! They have Entertainment on Saturday nights/Friday nights!!! We are going to comeback on Friday /Saturday night!!! Located in Indian land SC. Indian Land is a very nice place to visit!!!!Parking: U have to go up a hill but it's worth it!!!“
“It was very packed when I came but it was great, customers and workers are kind, friendly and it's a great time to go surprisingly. Even thought the bartenders are busy they still will try to manage to assist you. Very satisfying place to go for drinks.“
“Showmars is a great spot with super fresh ingredients and fast, friendly service. They have fresh salads, juicy grilled chicken, THE BEST tzatziki sauce, gyro, pitas, cheeseburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, pasta salad, the list goes on. You'll get a lot for your dollar as their portion sizes are pretty substantial! They are "Greek Southern" in their approach to food. They offer a casual order-at-the-counter-and-grab-a-number style dining experience which makes it perfect for a quick lunch or dinner with a group. The staff come around and make sure your drinks are refilled. Showmars is our go-to spot and I think if you give it a try, you'll agree!“
“Nice upscale casual spot with a decent menu and good drinks. There is an enclosed patio that I am sure would be open wide during the nicer months. Varied seating (high-tops, tables, booths, bar) and TVs for those inclined to keep up on sports events during a meal.Food was decent, a little expensive, but good. Drinks were expertly mixed and the beer selection (both tap and can/bottle) was a very good mix of local and national brews.“
“took out my friends last week to celebrate and had a 10/10 experience. our waitress kris made our experience very enjoyable and personable! she recommended the avocado chicken wrap/brussel sprouts and it was delicious, as well as a impeccable atmosphere to top! will definitely be back and asking for kris!!“
“On our trip in North Carolina we had lunch at City BBQ . I have had my share of good BBQ which I just did a review on a location in West Palm Beach but am sorry to say that Florida BBQ has nothing on North Carolina BBQ. It was very delicious, tender, and juicy. The smoky taste was so on point. We have a Brisket sandwich, Brisket, ribs, smoked turkey, garlic toast, fries and okra. Everything was delicious. Only complaint was the fries was a bit too salty but still tasty. They have different sauces to choose. Can't wait to go back. Can't stop thinking of that smoke turkey..“
“We traveled to Charlotte today for family time and found this restaurant near our destination. We got to town early and decided to eat. I got the bruschetta and mozzarella sticks. The bruschetta was on bread that was very soft in the center with crispy edges. It was perfect. Huge slice of mozzarella, which was made in house. On top of that was the diced tomato glazed with balsamic. The mozzarella sticks were crispy. They gave me a basket of complementary garlic knots, which were absolutely amazing with homemade marinara sauce. They have a large selection of beer, wine and liquor with 18 local drafts on tap. The staff was super kind and brought me a box for my leftovers with smaller containers for the sauces. This place is super nice inside with several televisions and music. The bar area is my favorite. Two appetizers and three beers with the knots was only $40 bucks! Well worth the stop.“
“My father and I ate lunch here a couple of months ago, but I had forgotten to write a review. Anyways, we went at a slow time (weekend day, Saturday I think) around 12:30. I got the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and that was surprisingly good even for being a tavern restaurant. My father got the angus cheeseburger wrap and he thought it was good. There was one server there serving the whole restaurant and she didn’t even feel the need to write down our order to remember it. The restaurant was very clean and we had a great experience overall!“
“I freaking loved it! That Shanghai Noodle meal was THE BOMB and had a kick to it. You could see the stem coming from the bowl minutes after it was delivered. It was so flavorful; the pineapples and their juices added luxury to the taste. The chili peppers ? ? ?. I even made my very own Shanghai Lettuce Wraps, which turned out to be just what the doctor ordered. We also tried the Margherita Pasta bowl...yummy baby! Come check it out. Service and atmosphere were great and loud, which is to be expected. Stonecrest Location“
“best restaurant and bar in SC! food is phenomenal, especially the lemon pepper wings and pizza! staff is extremely friendly attentive. Great vibe inside with the music, tv's and pool tables. I would eat here every day if I could! Again, some of the best food is SC! I THE“
“The food is spot-on! I love their wing night! The atmosphere is clean and inviting. The waitstaff is top-notch. Also, Tammy, the Director of Beverage is world class! She puts on incredible events, which makes it more of a "Cheers" community feel (a club you want to be a part of)!“
“My waitress said that they have the best shakes and I have to absolutely agree. Chicken tenders and fries while we waited for our oil change. Definitely worth it and they were very nice while I was doing a video conference.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. My son loved the shakes and chicken.“
“The food was simple, yet delicious. This family run restaurant felt warm, and the staff was friendly. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was a perfect portion. My husband had a bagel breakfast sandwich and pancakes. Everything was delicious!Parking: During a rush, you may need to park and walk. There is a gravel lot near the water tower.“
