“This is a buffet style restaurant. They have different meat options with lots of sauce on them and they have fried chimichangas which are delicious. The chicken mole had a GREAT flavor HOWEVER it's full of bones! Not a safe thing to put in your mouth. I took a bite into a piece of chicken and there were about 10 tiny bones which tells me it was very likely a chicken neck.”

Their taco specials are absolutely delicious—generous portions, fresh ingredients, and prices that make you do a double take (in the best way). Whether you go hard shell, soft shell, or mix it up with a combo, you’re in for a treat.

And if you’re lucky enough to stop in for lunch, you’ll be greeted with amazing service from Dawn. She’s attentive, kind, and makes the whole experience feel like you’re among friends. The vibe is cozy, the food is fantastic, and the hospitality is second to none. Can’t wait to come back next Thursday!”

“I got to experience Koffie Knechtion the other day and loved the atmosphere! My friends and I had a great time catching up over delicious coffee and foods that will make your pallette want more. I even decided to bring my mother out the next morning so she could enjoy the same experience I had. We got to sit and chat with the owners who were very personable and friendly! How cool to have them explain the making and building behind the scenes. You can tell they care about the work they do! What an accomplishment! The Greek quiche, avocado toast, and pastries were delicious! Highly recommend and glad I was able to make some memories with my friends and mom.”

I also want to thank them very much for all they do for the people of their community as well. Thank you for everything back in November for the dinner where we honored our dads life. We were allowed to enjoy the dinner in one of their party rooms. My family and I truly appreciate it. Thank you. Also, try the street tacos and the jalapeño poppers… you won’t regret it 😉.”

“The location is a little out of the way. The food is really good. The chili recipe was fantastic. A little pricey but big plates. Well worth it. Good service and quick in my opinion. There were four of us. We all agreed, great food.”

“Walking in it looks like a normal Mexican bread market. They have a few tables and local help.
The food is amazing though. It doesn't look like it would be but seriously. Try it! On Saturdays and Sunday mornings they have home made tortillas! In the mornings.”

“I don't leave reviews... but here we are. I'm From San Francisco, grew up in the mission and love food. I'd stack up these tacos to anything I've had back home, San Diego or Mexico. Great meats, their pastor is my favorite. Whenever I visit my in laws this is my new spot. I've been coming to Sioux City for 15 years now and this is by dar the best Mexican I've had here.”

“This place is warm and the friendly warm service and bread smell you would expect you get right when you walk in.
The staff is very friendly. The bread fresh almost all morning on. Weekends and tamales fresh and amazing. I'd recommend to anyone who loves fresh breads. Order to suit cakes also. Please note this is NOT a restaurant. It's a bread store. 2 big thumbs up.”

“We go to La Isla every year for our Anniversary and a few other times as well. They are always wonderful - service is great. The food is crazy good, and the portion sizes are large. My husband and I will share, and we still take food home. Love the pineapple pasta. We try different things each time and have always been happy with experimenting”
