“I took food to my job and they loved I brought a pan of yellow rice cabbage and a $20 pan of potato salad and took it to my job cause we had a birthday party for a coworker. They loved the food they never had it before I live in South Amboy but I’m from Newark work in Matawan at the nursing home, and they never had the flu before they loved it. Good job, kings.“

“I cook southern food and is very picky about where I get my family’s food from. I usually cook it myself, however I trust and had Al’s food for a while now! It is absolutely delicious and whenever I have a party or need to get southern food quick I come to Al’s kitchen! Don’t let the shop fool you! This is the best soul food you gonna fond on the island!“

“My order was quite enjoyable. I had some large fish that was topped with rice that had been seasoned and sauteed onions and peppers. Since I had never really had African food before, I ordered something that didn't really fit with my order, so I really appreciate that they phoned me. The ginger beverage was flavorful, zesty, and refreshing.“

“Friendly staff, always stocked up on all options. If they dont have it cooked up, they will cook it just for you.☺️I just discovered this place and they are more than a fish frying place. They have Caribbean food options as well, and it is good! Some may think it is pricey, but for the amount of food you receive, your plates will be more than the money you pay! It's worth every penny!
Parking: Near hospital and this is a store front restaurant. So take out is the best option. This place gets super crowded, so call in your order before you get there. Makes life easier. It's not the restaurant's fault the parking is trash! Use the hospital lot.

“I got the sticky wing platter with collard greens and mac n cheese. I would give 4 stars. The sticky wings were flavorful on the surface. My friend got the catfish sandwich platter, yams and green beans. She stated the same thing that the food could have been more flavorful. Overall a good experience. The owners/cooks were friendly and let us sample some items to help us decide what we wanted. Would like to come back again and try other menu items. Oh we sampled the fries w/parmesean garlic sauce, that was sooo good!“
