“Some reviews were questionable, but I chose to walk in and order anyways! I had a fresh flaffel right on the spot - it was absolutely delicious. The lentil soup was also great!! I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and soup, I’m very happy with my order! The sauce is fresh and tasty, the service was fast. I’ll be back. I want to mention, this was a team effort with the family at the front and very busy ☺ amazing customer service and great food!“

“I've been in Philly 16 years, and eaten at every major fine dining restaurant in the city, many more than once. Amada, Zahav, Budakkan, Vernick Fish, you name it. Every Stephen Starr. Every Michael Solmonov. Every Jose Garces. This is the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. The carrots, the beets, the mushroom taglioli, the tuna tartar, the beef carpaccio tartlet, the duck, the liver mousse, the steak...I could go on. Every single bite was either perfect or nearly so. Both of my daughters and my wife said the same. We talked about our top dining experiences in Tokyo, Paris, St. Petersburg, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, Chicago, there have been so many, many good meals in our life. Because we were a party of 2 and ordered many courses , the server staggered our food so we could enjoy every morsel We started with soup. I had the lentil my husband had Moroccan Bean. Both were so wonderful we we started sharing. I was looking forward to the taramasalata all day. When it came to the table along with warmed pita bread it did not disappoint. On to the falafel: which were some of the best we ever sampled. Not finished yet, next we had lamb kafta. Which were succulent and prepared to perfection. Our final course was the superb moussaka. The eggplant melted in our mouth with each bite and the ground beef and béchamel enhanced the flavor to a higher level Our only disappoint was we didn't have room left for dessert. There is always next time! Another wonderful dining experience at Norma’s!“

I've lived in the US for 11 years and went to plenty of Arabic restaurants all over the country, this is by far the most authentic that tastes exactly like food back home in Syria does. “Came in on Saturday last week for my birthday and tonight for my girlfriend’s birthday. The atmosphere is chill the views are amazing. Our servers have been engaging and knowledgeable. And the food is outstanding. Last week we did the chef’s tasting with the whole fish as the main course ($90 per person). Tonight we got the fritto misto, the eggplant and eggplant caponata, and the swordfish with green garlic for the apps. The rigatoni, spaghetti, and the trophie for the second course (pasta full plates) and the half chicken for the main course. Everything was delicious but the trophie pistachio pesto stood out as the best dish for my girlfriend and I. We finished the night with two cappuccino’s and tiramisu. It is a little pricey but worth every penny. If you’re looking for excellent food, a great atmosphere and beautiful views Irwin’s is the place. In my opinion Irwin’s and Meetinghouse in Fishtown are the two coolest restaurants in Philly.“

“Without a doubt one of the friendliest people in Philadelphia serving up some of the best and freshest halal you can find. I go 2-3 times a week and singlehandedly keeps me fed on my days off from work. I cannot even begin to say how great the food and service is as there is simply nothing else like it in Philadelphia.
