“I ordered the shawarma sandwich and the lentil soup. Both were delivered fresh and piping. Given south Asian roots i can taste a food lentil soup and this hit the spot. The shawarma was nice with added veggies but taste wise was nice but nothing that would knock your socks off. The toum sauce is a great accompaniment with the shawarma and overall the meal is a nice to have if you haven't tried. The staff is courteous and considerate of their customer needs“

“I've been in Philly 16 years, and eaten at every major fine dining restaurant in the city, many more than once. Amada, Zahav, Budakkan, Vernick Fish, you name it. Every Stephen Starr. Every Michael Solmonov. Every Jose Garces. This is the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. The carrots, the beets, the mushroom taglioli, the tuna tartar, the beef carpaccio tartlet, the duck, the liver mousse, the steak...I could go on. Every single bite was either perfect or nearly so. Both of my daughters and my wife said the same. We talked about our top dining experiences in Tokyo, Paris, St. Petersburg, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, Chicago, there have been so many, many good meals in our life. “Food was massive - people complain about the price hike from $10 to $20 but in 2026 any food that people wait for and it's only $20 is a good deal, specially for the amount he gives.

Got a grilled chicken, veggies, falafel and noodles.
Like I said the amount was generous fed 2 people and we were full.

Now the food Chicken was good kind of dry, all had a good char from the grill. I really thought it would have more culinary touch based on what I heard about this spot but it's just smorgasbord of random ingredients and recipes he can put together. Falafel was good more towards the crispy side. Flavor was decent nothing to go crazy about. If I am looking to get fair price food for a good amount and there's a 5min wait then it's a must, but if waiting 30-45 minutes not even worth it. But the amount is generous we had left overs later on.“

Because we were a party of 2 and ordered many courses , the server staggered our food so we could enjoy every morsel We started with soup. I had the lentil my husband had Moroccan Bean. Both were so wonderful we we started sharing. I was looking forward to the taramasalata all day. When it came to the table along with warmed pita bread it did not disappoint. On to the falafel: which were some of the best we ever sampled. Not finished yet, next we had lamb kafta. Which were succulent and prepared to perfection. Our final course was the superb moussaka. The eggplant melted in our mouth with each bite and the ground beef and béchamel enhanced the flavor to a higher level Our only disappoint was we didn't have room left for dessert. “New local halal food spot located on Cottman Ave near Castor Ave by the Sunoco gas station. Reasonably priced fresh food platters with a variety of tasty choices to choose from some as low as $5! $5 is a great price for those on a budget. I got the Mac and cheese/ fried chicken combo and the sauce it comes with is so yummy! It was pretty good. Also got the fish over rice with the garlic sauce it comes with a small salad as well. Fish was lightly breaded and cooked well. I will visit this spot again for sure to try out the other menu items!“

“I cannot give Mona a more glowing review, I went for my birthday celebration yesterday and we were a party of 8. The atmosphere is gorgeous, I adore Greece and the vibe was very much like several restaurants and bars I visited in Ios and Mykonos! I waited at the bar for the rest of my party to arrive, the changing art behind the bar was so fun! The bartenders were so sweet and wished me a happy birthday (with a free shot!). Our server was Ryan, with help from the lovely Tiffany who explained every dish and their differences from each other. At first i was worried the tables were a bit small but the bussers where very on top of clearing away finished plates and glasses so we never ran out of space or had any pile up of dirty dishes. The food was SO good! I had the lamb over orzo and it was fall off the bone, melt in your mouth delicious. Between the 8 of us I'd say we tried about half the menu and it was all so good! The fillet kabobs lemon potatos were my next favorite after my meal. It was my birthday so with dessert (orange phyllo cake: sooo amazing) came bells and sparklers! It really was the best dinner celebration and I can't thank Tiffany enough for recommending it. Everyone should try an Ouzu shot too, even if you dont like licorice, its very greek!“
