“Came in for lunch after a very busy morning at work, and, if I'm being honest, with a minor hangover. Everything about this place fixed me right up. I felt like I went to lunch at my tia's. The ropa veja I got tasted exactly like the one I grew up eating. Comfort food and comforting vibes.“

“Who ever owns this place or really Rumba Cubana in general as a whole is a genius. How do they make such great food at such low prices but still makes the restaurants upscale in feel while still delivering great service is the holy Trinity of restaurants. Go to any of them.“

“2024 - My dad, sister and brother in law came to visit me this past weekend and the first spot I made a reservation for was at Kuba! My husband and I visit here all the time and go for the excellent service, food, and atmosphere. Oh.. and can't forget the music on Fridays and Saturdays 🎵. I have not seen my sister so happy in such a long long time after the death of our mom. She was smiling ear to ear and enjoying the whole atmosphere. THANKS KUBA for making my family and us (husband and I) always feel like royalty.

Thank you so much for making our 5th-anniversary dinner yesterday truly wonderful! We started with our favorites—the spicy yellowfin tuna on tostones and the coconut shrimp—and both were incredible. For dinner, the creamy chicken and Cowboy ribeye were absolutely delicious.

Since you first opened, we’ve loved visiting for the romantic atmosphere and great music. We are so grateful to Andres, Nelson, and your wonderful new bartender Bryan. Gillian, you do a fantastic job hiring such a professional and welcoming team. Whether we dine in or order out, the quality is always perfect. Thank you for another memorable celebration!

“This was my first visit here. (I previously have had delivery on a couple of occasions and the food was very good.) Despite being a little early for our reservations and the place being very busy, we were seated immediately at the outdoor table I had requested in the reservations. The cocktails didn't take that long to be brought and were very good. The fried calamari appetizer (tapas) was outstanding- each piece perfectly crispy and not one piece was chewy. The sweet chili sauce worked very well with a mild heat in the middle of the tongue surrounded by sweetness. My wife enjoyed the jamon croquettas despite it lacking any sort of aioli or dipping sauce. My main dish of the deep fried Red Snapper was perfectly crisp on the outside, moist and tender inside and all around tasty. My wife enjoyed her fired cheese mofongo. Dessert of guava cheesecake and also the flan were good as well. Overall, service was good and the maitre d' walks around checking in on guests which is a nice touch. Overall, I thought the prices were very reasonable and you get nice size portions making it a good value. Just be aware that inside is fairly large and can get loud. Their windows are thick and outside you only really hear it when the door opens. Considering we live across the street and stare at the place from our windows, we'll be back, likely often.“

“Hace poco hice un pedido para un evento social familiar por un valor de $540 pero decidí pagar con mi tarjeta de crédito, obviamente me cobran el impuesto tax 6.625% de venta, sin embargo, tuvieron el descaro de cobrarme un 2.9% adicional por el uso de la tarjeta de crédito. Cuando les pregunté, me dijeron que había un cajero (ATM) automático que podía usar, por lo tanto si lo pagaría en efectivo y solo pagaría $ 540. Parece obvio que están tratando de estafar el impuesto sobre las ventas del gobierno. en cualquier caso, la comida no era tan buena y nunca volveré a ellos. Buen trabajo para estafar a los clientes pidiéndoles efectivo en lugar de pagar una factura de tarjeta de crédito.“

“Owner is so sweet and workers are attentive even when busy. I am happy to say they take their time with their food, and provide excellent service. I did not mind waiting because scenery and weather was great as they provide seating in front the place.

“I found this place through instagram and went in person had the sweet chilli wings and two empanadas, amazing! Loved it. Not a fan of the yuca fries they were a bit on the dry side but its always a hit or miss when it comes to Yuca / Yuca fries. The atmosphere was amazing, super clean place seems like a small family business loved seeing that. Truly recommend.“

“This place is one of the best places to have a healthy lunch in West New York. I am amazed that it doesn't have any review yet. I tried fish and also lunch specials twice out three times being there, I recommend fish and cow tail. A nice girl works there having very helpful attitude toward customers (unfortunately I don't remember her name but you will find her at lunch). You might have a little bit of problem communicating in english, but all of the times that I had lunch there, they prepared exactly what I meant. A meal size was more than enough for me and I am not skinny, unhealthy or anything. Did I mention the price? it is worth every penny.“

We ordered the Sopa Gallego, the Ropa Vieja, and the star of the meal the Cubano sandwich. The sopa was hearty and comforting, and the ropa vieja was something special tender, slow-cooked shredded beef with deep, layered flavors that brought back a wave of nostalgia with every bite. Incredibly filling too, the kind of dish that warms you from the inside out.
But the Cubano? That's what you come back for. Perfectly pressed golden bread with just the right amount of crunch giving way to layers of juicy roasted pork, savory ham, melted Swiss cheese, tangy pickles, and mustard every bite was a perfect balance of salty, smoky, and bright. It wasn't just a sandwich, it was a moment. The kind that makes you close your eyes and just appreciate it. I will go out on a limb and say this is the best Cubano in New Jersey don't sleep on it.
The flavors throughout felt authentic and lovingly made, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you're getting. This is the kind of neighborhood spot that deserves to be packed every night.

“This is a family favorite! Since the food is fresh and very cheap compare to today’s prices within other restaurants around the same area. It could be better flavored, but they have their own seasoning. My favorite dish would have to be the Mangu with eggs, cheese and salami for breakfast. Cannot for get their oatmeal drink& hot chocolate.

Kid-friendliness: You can bring your kids and eat with family if that’s your preference. They do have kids seats.“

“Used to be my favorite place and ordered river vale at least 2-3x per week but hadn't ordered for a long time until recently i had craving for their ox tail combo and Cuban sandwich. sadly no more ox tail and both puerco asado shredded pork dish and Cuban pork were so bland and dry and burnt with the pressed bread which was like a stale burnt roll with 1 or 2 pickles..thats it. was disappointed the puerco asado dish didn't even come with rice and beans as was used to be included in the past. and no phone number available to call and talk to someone. very sad because used to be one of my favorites and probably will not try again.“

I’ve had the steak with tostones, their chicharrón de pollo & many other delectable dishes. They also have a nice bar & make excellent Pisco sours which I can’t find in too many places! I live in Rockland County & the hubby & I take the trip about monthly just to eat here! Nothing fancy about the restaurant but definitely good eats! Highly recommend! The hubby &!I will definitely be back! 😋😋😋“

“Ok, me and my partner was looking for a café and she googled cafés in the area and this one came up
So we decided to visit this Cafe28 and we loved it right when we walked in
We fell in love with the atmosphere
The food and service we give 💯
The cuban sandwiches and empanada are awesome
The expresso and coffee are amazing
The prices is very good as well
Juan, & his wife are very attentive to the customers needs and very warm hearted
If anyone is like us and love cafés who are in the area we definitely recommend that you stop in and give Cafe 28 a visit.

“Heard about this place online for their famous steak sandwich and decided to take the trip since it seemed relatively close to my neighborhood. Ended up taking a little longer than usual because its in a very population dense area with a lot of traffic and parking was brutal. I wouldn't say it located in the worst area but it's defiantly not a nice area, anyways on to the food. the restraint itself looks very old and beat up but who cares menu has 1 sandwich on it and it's cash only. Id recommend any foodie to come try this place at least once because its a food journey but the traffic and parking and cash only are enough of a hassle to keep me away unless I'm directly in the neighborhood, also try to eat it there because the trip home will take too long.“

“This was a celebratory gathering for a colleague's birthday. The bar setting wasn't quite a vibe I enduldge in regularly but if you're looking for a place to socialize, drink and watch sports. This place has it all going at once.
My most favorite aspect was the food. For a social sports bar. I was pleasantly surprised at food options offered. I am a vegan, keto, vegetarian 🥵 yes I know! Its a mouthful but my allergies call for a specific diet to maintain optimum health. I digress, they offered 3 types of French fries, Buffalo cauliflower, sautéed garlic broccoli. All fit me narrow feeding needs. So need a place for a diverse dining?? This is a great store to try out“
