“Nice deli, bagels were good they were able to make my sandwich just the way the like. The meat was piled on and the sandwich was filling. The bagel has the right consistency of crunchy and chewy with the flavor that you expect. It's hard to find good bagels where I currently reside(Pittsburgh) so it was a nice treat while visiting here.“

“I always had Dunellen Bagel when I lived there and it’s the best bagel I’ve ever had. I moved and bagels aren’t the same here so everytime I visit Jersey I have to go to Dunellen Bagel and I have my husband addicted too. He’s never tasted a bagel like this and he was amazed. “The bagels here are the best anywhere around. I love the Everything bagels the most.

However, I noticed one thing on checking out. When you put your card in the slot it gives you an option to tip: 10%, 15% and 20%.
BUT THERE IS NO OPTION FOR NO TIP. It forces you to leave a tip in order to check out. This is unarmed robbery. Why should I tip someone behind a counter who simply picked bagels out of the basket, put them in a bag and hand it to you.

This is utter nonsense! If I were waited on, like they bring my food to a table, then ok. From 2000 and back through time, the business owners would have laughed their heads off at such a notion. This is insanity. They want a handout for just doing their jobs. No one ever tipped me for doing my job (as an accountant). So why should I tip someone for just doing theirs?

So from now on I pay cash and will pocket the exact change. They rig up this nonsense because the owners do not pay their help sufficiently and expect the general public to make up the difference. BULLCRAP“

“Very small bagel store, no frill interior. I believe they have a couple small tables at most and a wall hung flat panel. Tables may have been removed during peak COVID. Parking is pretty decent, I can typically get a parking spot without issue. Some bagel varieties do run out quite early in the morning. Typically everything bagel, salt, egg, wheat, blueberry are available later in the day. I do feel these bagels are some of the best in the immediate area, not bready, with enough chewy and crispy parts and moist. They have basic variety of bagel flavor selection but not a huge variety. Bagels have always been spot on consistent. Friendly staff and typically quick service.“

There are two things one notices immediately upon entering Bagels 4U: the wonderful smell of freshly made bagels and the rather impressive number of people who have arrived before you.

The line is longer than one might ordinarily consider reasonable for breakfast, but this is easily explained. The bagels are excellent, wonderfully fresh, and apparently the entire neighborhood has discovered this unfortunate fact.

The portions, meanwhile, are so generous that one suspects the staff has never been introduced to the concept of moderation. Whatever you order, you receive a proper abundance of it.

And so one waits, surrounded by fellow enthusiasts, contemplating the curious human willingness to stand patiently in line for something that will disappear in approximately seven minutes.

Excellent bagels, generous portions, and a queue that serves as its own advertisement.

“My dad and I had coffee and bagel. Cinnamon bagel with plain cream cheese with regular brewed coffee. Everything on it bagel with garlic herb paired with vanilla almond coffee. The food was freshly made and service was fast. The coffee variety is sufficient which allows you to drink a different kind of coffee each day of the week. A little bit pricey than Manhattan coffee and bagel, but it's worth it.“

“It was an acceptable sausage egg and cheese. I have to say it did take a while but I enjoyed the sandwich. The atmosphere is a little dated but I mean it’s bagels 4 u and not atmosphere 4 u so I can’t ding them for that. I also found out that this place is a chain. That means I’ll have to visit more and do a cross sectional analysis of my experiences at this franchise.“
