We enjoyed manchego & macron almond appetizer and ordered mules made with the Boyd & Blair vodka (distilled in Glenshaw, PA) and a dash of bitters. They do not stock ginger beer, but instead offer a housemade ginger syrup which was delicious. Bar staff are super attentive. This place is small and cozy and busy but with patrons frequently coming and going so it was not too difficult to find a seat at bar. The atmosphere was bubbly, music bumping and they were playing a championship play off game on the TV but that was definitely not the focus of the room.“

“This was our first time at The Side Car and we were really pleased. It can be tough for me to find classic bar food that still works with being gluten free and mostly plant based, so I was thrilled to see both an appetizer and an entrée that fit my needs.\n\nThe brussel sprout appetizer was fabulous, though be warned, it’s spicy. I love heat, so it was perfect for me. My entrée, the new vegan enchiladas, was also great. They were flavorful without being overly heavy, which made the whole meal feel satisfying but not too filling.\n\nThe rest of my family raved about the Detroit style pizza and the wings. We will definitely be back. The service was spot on, the food was enjoyable, and while the atmosphere was loud, it was still manageable for a fun family night out. Best of all, the prices felt reasonable, especially compared to many places that feel a bit overpriced for a family dinner.\n\nHighly recommend!“

“Great bartender, incredible music selection and possibly the best burger in the city. Especially for the dollar it is the best burger. The beer list was absolutely incredible and diverse. Happy hour like everywhere in this town means two dollar off pints. Even on days like St. Patrick’s Day, they still are efficient and friendly at Fountain Porter.

Parking: It’s South Philly. You know what you’re getting into. It’s busy.

“I went to Jet Wine bar for a Halloween movie night with a friend. They were understaffed but they still went above and beyond to take care of us. Food and drinks were excellent. We watched the movie inside even though they were only serving outside. It was so kind and really an unnecessary accommodation they made for us to enjoy our time there. I'll definitely be going back!

“I came here years ago and was always getting the fish bowls. When I went today (12-7-2024) they no longer make them and I was disappointed but I got a vodka & OJ and a Long Island ice tea. The kitchen was closed but I have tried their seafood platters. I love this place. An older crowd and no riff raff. I’ve moved closer and that makes it better. Robin was a GEM.“

The hoagie at lunch was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. For dinner, I tried the shrimp fra Diavolo, and I’m extremely particular about that dish… but this was a 10 out of 10. “I was recently visiting the area from Oklahoma. Popped in for a quick beer with my girlfriend. Ended up having a couple more, plus wings (the Chiodi sauce is the real deal!) and a small pizza. Fantastic food and a comfortable atmosphere, but the star of the show was Mark, who was working behind the bar. Took great care of us, made us laugh, interacted with everyone and seemed to truly enjoy his work. I don't know when I'll get the chance to be up there again, but if I make it, I'll be returning for sure!“

I got the cheese and meat board that they offer by as a package. It was a little underwhelming. It was clear the cheese and meat were high-quality, but I would’ve appreciated either a larger serving or maybe even just less bread. The waiter let me know that that would probably be sufficient for lunch and while it might’ve been in the end, I was still left hungry. I’m confused on if this place is trying to be more upscale or more deli based on the mix of wine and sandwich pairings they have.“

“I booked the Summer Decay Day show at Century and, I will be reaching out later this week about booking the Fall Decay Day because Century was an amazing venue and the show went super well. I can't thank Century enough for providing a place where we can all be weirdos together. We all had such a great time at the show and it felt great being able to pay all the acts at the end of the night (Century doesn't touch your money). The drinks were cheap, the sound was good, and the pit was bumping. It was amazing performing again and I couldn't have picked a better place to do the my first show back.
