“Let me share my experience with this restaurant being it’s my first time eating here. To start off the people are very pleasant and greeted me with a smile and a warm welcome. So there is no issue there ! The food was also decent , very tasty and everything was fresh. Some things that they can improve on is a little less salt ( msg) and they also had cinnamon in the egg roll which was sort of odd. But overall it was a good place to eat.“

“Very grateful for this place. So glad I spent the extra couple minutes to compare menus/reviews and landed here rather than the other closer options. The food was fresh, hot, tasty and it was prepared quickly. Friendly service but have some patience and grace as English is not their first language.

My boyfriend and I were exhausted, stressed, and hungry (I.e. desperate) during the tail end of a 5hr drive at Sunday night in the middle of rain/flooding and this place single handedly turned our miserable night around. Will definitely be back whenever we’re in the area again!“

“Stopped in while my son was at soccer practice on a whim last night and was blown away by the food and the amazingly friendly staff. The noodles were out of this world!! Prices were very reasonable esp in this economy. Will definitely be returning.“

“Little disappointed at this place. Saw they had Crispy Beef with Fresh Honey Walnuts Beef with a bed of steamed broccoli in a sweet brown sauce topped with sugared walnuts. Not crispy as from can see in pic. Was this really beef also? Walnuts were plain as well.Steamed Spinach Dumplings were a bit dry . Hunan Dumplings Spinach and beef dumplings topped with spicy peanut sauce. Spicy. I got not spicy but were very good. Would I try again. Yes think I would.“

“Such an underrated gem - came here for a random weekend lunch and was blown away by good the food was. Very authentic Chinese food. I highly recommend the the beef tripe appetizer if looking something less common, otherwise, if not as adventurous the beef noodle soup is solid as well.“

“I was at first excited when Dao Madison moved into town and even more excited when I was told they can accommodate gluten free as I have celiac. After several miss steps with mixed up orders, Dao is now cooking on all cylinders. We recently were there with friends and everyone loved it. Moreover, they have successfully accommodated my need to eat gluten free (I have celiac) several times, and have been pro active in suggesting what is easier and safer to make gluten free. This place is a gem.“

“What up guys! So I have been going here for my lunch break at least 3 times a week for the last 3 years and let me tell you, they are super friendly, CONSISTENT fresh food, great customer service. I highly recommend giving trying this place out. I either get shrimp w/broccoli with white rice, chicken w/broccoli in garlic sauce extra garlic sauce with white rice, 2 spicy salmon rolls and 2 spicy tuna rolls w/spicy mayo and eel sauce on the side oh yeah they have sushi too..😌, or chicken wings with shrimp fried rice I enjoy changing it up because everything is really that good.“

“We have been ordering take out from China 23 since they opened and have always been satisfied with the quality of the food. My last order I mistakenly ordered "volcano" wonton instead of the regular. I didn't realize my goof until I got home and read the receipt. I called back and they told me they make me the wonton right away if I would come back to pick it up. When I returned, I was told no charge for the regular wonton. “If you’re looking for delicious authentic Sichaun dishes, recommend getting the Soup dumplings, Mongolian Beef, Dandan Noodles, Scallion Pankcakes, Chef Tan Style Fried Rice, Shrimp fried rice, Sichuan Style Hot & Sour Glass Noodles and Vegetarian String Beans. Heat levels can be adjusted to your liking.“

“This is the best Chinese take out in the area. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Truly authentic Hong Kong style dishes - not too oily/salty. And there are a few chef specials that are hard to find elsewhere too.

You can tell their ingredients are just better, there's healthy options and best of all their prices are so fair for the large portion sizes. Lunch special is only $8.50 for delicious meat & veggies on rice plus a side. It's always fast, They just do it right every time.“

I had found one takeout place in Mendham that has done really well for years and when I work in that area I order it. On a whim I asked them how theirs was and said I would let her know. “I’ve been ordering Chinese takeout back to living in Brooklyn for 20+ years. In almost all Chinese restaurant reviews, people always complain about delivery and how many shrimp they got. Just order pick up and don’t go to pricy places if u want to avoid being disappointed. I’ve bought from Madison Wok for 15 years now and never had a late order when ordering pick up here (usually 15 mins). The food tastes exactly as my local restaurant when I was a kid, so I can’t complain. For the price, consider how little you are paying for the amount of work and manpower going into it •• esp since it’s done so fast. Dao nearby has slightly less oil and flavor for a lot more money. I wanted to like it but just poor value since your deliver or pick up order price needs to support the wait staff. No American style Chinese food is healthy for you so stop thinking you’re doing something good by paying someone extra to do less oil, msg, etc. in summary, this is an old school place that gives you the standards for the least amount of money you’ll pay in this zip code. Not something to eat everyday, but when you need your fix for this kind of stuff. I recommend the pork dumplings, fried wings, curry chicken, wonton soup and any fried rice, plus the chow fun and generals chicken. My 3 kids never complain and no one has ever been sick. Sometimes I’m not crazy about the amount of meat but remember that I’m not paying $15 or $20 for a pint here, and the low prices are supporting a skeleton crew.“

“The food at this Chinese restaurant is super good. I recently moved to Fairfield and needed to find a good spot for Chinese takeout out. So, I tried joy wok. I ordered sesame chicken combo and the Mongolian beef. They were both super good. I don’t normally like my sesame chicken a little spicy and they made it just right for me.
The customer service is also great. I had accidentally ordered white rice with the Mongolian beef and when I picked up my order they switched it to fried rice right away with no extra charge. Everyone there is super nice. Definitely recommend if you are in the area in search of a good Chinese spot.“

“We often order from Verona Chinese Kitchen, delivery only. Deliveries are prompt. I really like their Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Chicken with Cashew Nuts. My husband enjoys their Beef with Snowpeas, and Shrimp Toast. We sometimes order their soups, especially the Hot and Sour soup and Wonton soup, but ask for modifications as my husband has certain tolerances. They are very accommodating, everything arrives as ordered. The service is friendly, professional, and our orders are read back for clear communication, which is much appreciated as I am hard of hearing.“
