“I absolutely love Taco Heart! Having lived in Austin for many years, I often crave authentic breakfast tacos and jalapeño crema salsa, both of which can be hard to find. Taco Heart is my GoTo spot now that I live in Philadelphia. The food and drinks, the vibe, the music, and the location are all exactly right.

One recent Saturday, Nano even let us stay in the restaurant well past closing time while a strong storm blew through. We got to sit inside, warm and dry, and watch the torrential wind and rain and eat his delicious food. It was amazing.

“This food is amazing. HAND MADE TORTILLAS which I have never seen in a Philly taqueria before! We ordered one jamaica glass and they gave us a huge jug to share AND two extra cups to take out. The inside is pretty small & no frills, but the food is ABSOLUTELY worth it! I speak Spanish and the lady serving us was the owner, she mentioned they are struggling to stay open. as soon as we rolled up, we knew it was gonna be good. we went on a friday night at 11pm and there was a HUGE line up to the door.

food:
+ tacos (4 for $17) al pastor - 4/5, great meat flavor, too much tortilla vs meat, felt dry, even after drenching it in sauce.
+ horchata ($7) - 1/5, tasted like a fall spice-and vanilla scented candle

al pastor flavor was amazing. deep, smokey and delicious. the flour taco was mid, felt a bit dry and made me want to reach for a drink. they double bagged the meat — e.g. they use two soft tortillas per taco so the ratio of wrap to taco is like 2:1. it makes it seem like the tacos are less stuffed. I understand why they double bag it though, it was messy and wet!

we do not recommend the horchata though haha

“My wife and I eat a lot of tacos and ever since getting the tacos here, i compare all other tacos to El Amiguito, this place is the best! They are super friendly, delicious, and affordable. Really happy to have them as a part of the neighborhood community.“

“Third visit in a month. I ordered the torta milanesa each time. It is a mexican sandwich. My friend asked the torta al pastor twice, and the al pastor burrito once. He also went for the tamararind drink, which he enjoyed. I went for water and diet Coke.
It is a mom and pop place and worth a stop. Dining in is my favorite so it is served as intended with the correct parts still crispy or squishy as one expects. Reach this place by taking the T-4 or T-5 trolleys. Enano means a person who is not tall according to the owner. Friendly and efficient.“

“No pictures because the food hit the table at home and we immediately forgot all about our phones 😂 On a whim I was craving fish tacos, searched Google, found La Ingrata and headed over. Let me tell you… absolutely worth it. The food was a solid 10/10. The taco pizza was unreal and the fish tacos were honestly to die for. Fresh, flavorful, and one of those meals you keep thinking about after you leave. We ordered takeout, and while we waited for our food, we sat down and ended up chatting with the family. The owners’ 4-year-old daughter came and sat next to us, and if you know me, you know I’m all about the kiddos. Holding her little pile of tip coins and her pack of stickers, we somehow got into conversations about trains, numbers, birthdays… and found out ours are one day apart. Clearly we vibed because Virgos do things like that 😂 The owners came over and talked with us about business, and as food truck owners ourselves, my boyfriend and I instantly connected with them. Beyond the amazing food was just a hardworking family trying to make it, just like the rest of us. Seeing the next generation sitting right there alongside their parents, learning and growing in the middle of it all, was really the icing on the cake for me. Support family businesses. Support people chasing dreams. And definitely go get those fish tacos.“

“I stopped into this spot after Joel, the owner, had posted it out on another platform. The street tacos were deliciously messy. There was such a great portion of meat on each taco I was only able to eat 3 of 4. The ability to customize my taco was wonderful! Ask for extra napkins + limes. “Got the poutine fries. They needed cheese on them. They were still good but tht wld have made them better. The menu is limited but it’s a great spot to just stop and grab food when your hungry and want something fast and easy especially if your staying at the hotel like I was. This was my last stop for my first trip to the city so why not tacos something different. The shop is well lit and colorful easy to spot from the road. Service was good the staff were very friendly and filled me in on the menu. All the options looked good so I settled on the tacos and reached out of my comfort zone just a bit. The tacos come with corn tortillas which I never get and the Al pastor( pork with pineapples) and all the toppings they weren’t bad just drier than I expected. I also got the Jamaican drink which I would say is less sweeter than I’m used to it really lets you sit with the natural flavors. The dining area was super clean and spacious I really enjoyed the window high top seating to people watch and take in the views.“

“This is a BYOB place so bring your own Modelo, Tres Agaves and Margaritas…they’ll give you cups of ice. The Esquite is the best street corn I’ve ever had at a restaurant and that’s my go to snack. My Mexican Wife’s corn is better but you understand. GET THE ESQUITE! We shared the ribeye fajitas and it was legit ribeye. We just moved from California and have been looking for a solid Mexican restaurant and we’ve found it. I have no clue why the rating is only 4.3.“

“Found this place on here when we were randomly near the area. So glad we did! The vegan selection is awesome. Vegan proteins include vegan chorizo, vegan chickn, and black beans. They also have vegan queso, shredded vegan cheese, and vegan sour cream. One of the employees also told me to try the roasted potatoes next time. All 3 of us got nachos (smaller size). The portion size was huge, and a great value for the price. Everything had great flavour. I don’t think I’ve ever had vegan queso that good. On top of all that, the mission of this place is great, and everyone working there was really nice. We will definitely be going out of our way to come from Jersey to eat here again.
