“All of my Philly friends have been telling me that this is the best pho place they’ve been to in the USA. THIS IS SO WORTH THE HYPE!!! I now know why they always rave about this place. Pho is one of my favorite foods and I eat it in every city I go to. This specific broth blew my mind away, it was so tasty and beefy. The noodles were the perfect texture. The meats (I got the round steak and flank I think?) were actually so good. I don’t think I’ve ever been blown away by any beef before until now. Perfectly chewy and tender texture that tastes fresh. Also I got the small/regular size and the portions were very generous.
Sad I do not live near this place otherwise I’d go every day.“

“My first time having their food which came highly recommended from a picky foodie, like myself! We did takeout which was fast and the young lady was extremely nice. The vegetable rice, sweet chili wings and shrimp rolls were delectable! Not one complaint! I will definitely be back!“

“I came up from Madison Wi to visit one of my very best friends. This is EASILY the most fantastic Vietnamese food I’ve EVER experienced. I will be dreaming about the Bao Buns and Beef Bahn Mi for a lifetime. Corey himself came out and was so kind. The atmosphere is unmatched. 10/10 will recommend to anyone who will listen to me go on and on about it.“

“Before I even mention the food and service, let's just say that the atmosphere was already amazing. The restaurant itself had a calm vibe, with an overall beautiful decor all around. The food was just phenomenal: there's no other ways to describe it. Though it is a bit on the expensive side, you most definitely get a bang for your buck no matter what you eat. Everything is simply delicious! The service was amazing too. The staff was patient and kind: even the chef visited our table and others a couple of times! When they accidentally gave us extra Pho, they decided to take it off the bill! These people here are genuinely so sweet and when the food is just as amazing as them, I would definitely come here again! 11/10“

“Bun bo hue has a lot of meat. If you like meat, you will like their bun bo hue. If you are not a fan of lots of meat or very specific types of meat (like pig feet) in your bun bo hue, just tell them. Cash only. There’s an ATM next door if you don’t have cash. It’s pretty good and it’s always busy. Love a family-run spot. There might be a wait on the weekends as the spot is small. You may have to sit with strangers and share a table (no issue with that). You might also have difficulty finding parking.“

“It’s a cute cafe. Banh Mi is good . Love how they use seeded bread. I like the blended espresso and my daughter likes the cookies & cream.😋 The catering food was delicious . My guests liked the shrimp tapioca wrapped in banana leaves. Spring rolls was very stuffed with lots of meat . Highly recommend this place!“

“Was on my way to get a slice of pizza but stopped by here instead. Wooooweeeee super tasty bbq pork rice platter. It had scallion oil! Pickles! A lot of tasty veggies, which you don’t see at sit-in viet places anymore (only meat and rice sometimes 😩) Super fresh wholesome and good. Will go out of my way to come back for sure.“

“Have eaten for Bo Ne a great deal. Love the food and have lived in Vietnam and food is very much on par with the actual Vietnamese Restaurants in Ho Cho Minh City and Hanoi. Can not say anything bad for the place. Have frequented since first opened and the original owners.“

“My favorite Vietnamese restaurant currently because there are so many good options here. Bún bò is a must try. It smells really good and the broth is very well-seasoned. The taste is very different from the bbh at other places. Another must try is bún mắm. Although they only have cabbage and lettuce and not the typical veggie that comes with bún mắm, it is still very good. You get roasted pork, fish, shrimp, and squid. Mì vịt tiềm and hủ tiếu khô are also delicious. The meat in bún chả is tender and well seasoned, but the noodle is not that good, a bit overcooked. Also the bowl is really small so it is hard to eat. Although it is called phở cyclo, but phở here is meh. The wait time can sometimes be long and it's a pretty small place.“

“The food here is amazing. My fiancée considers this the best Bun Bo Huey she has ever had. After discovering it in the way to DC we made sure to stop by on our way back to Connecticut and get Lunch as well as some to go. We plan to visit again in a few weeks when we make our move to DC.“

“Viet Bistro 2 has *the best* vegetarian/vegan pho in the city—hands down! As someone who’s been vegan for years, I can’t begin to explain how rare it is to find a Vietnamese restaurant that serves truly vegan pho (not just veggies tossed into a beef broth). Viet Bistro 2 makes their vegetable broth from scratch, and it is SO flavorful!
Just the other week, I was dealing with significant GI upset. None of the over-the-counter or prescription meds I tried made a difference. But one warm, comforting bowl of their Vegetarian Pho? Total game-changer. It soothed my stomach, and I was finally able to get a good night’s rest.
My partner ordered the steak and beef pho and loved it just as much. I can also vouch for their tofu rolls! So whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or a meat-eater, Viet Bistro 2 has something delicious for you.
If you’re in Philly and haven’t made it to Viet Bistro 2 yet go try their pho! You won’t be disappointed!“

“a south philly staple
my parents frequent the location next to the hmart in northeast philly. it is pretty great, reliable quality and taste.
food: solid! the broth is incredible I drink that shit up. as for the sides, we usually do a half order of whole chicken on the side. all you gotta do is take your chicken slice, dunk it in the fish sauce and then slurp up a nice chunk of the noodles.
service: the staff is always attentive and helpful!
atmosphere: feels like a typical vietnamese restaurant. I appreciate how they’ve tried to accommodate as many seats as they can. maybe in the cramped side but I don’t mind“

“Tried this place and pho for the first time and it was amazing. I ordered the BBQ pork spring rolls; pho combo - pho dac biet; and the matcha freeze with lychee jelly. The spring rolls were super fresh, the pho was hot and flavorful, and the matcha was tasty as well. There was so much food included in the pho that I could've shared it between two people, so definitely worth the price! I paid a little over $30 for everything“

“We went here for lunch. I ordered the lunch special which comes with two small banh mi, pho, and a drink. My husband the bun thit nuong dish. I had beef pho and ginger beer. The flavors were very good and authentic. The banh mi bread itself was crunchy and airy, very reminiscentnt of breads found in Vietnam. The banh mi spread was a bit spicy (surprisingly) when I shared it with my toddler. Overall, good Vietnamese food for a bar lounge.“

“Absolute hidden gem in Philly - their chicken banh mi is the best I’ve had. Chicken was flavorful and juicy, the pickled veggies and jalapenos added great texture and heat. Such a well balanced sandwich.
Quaint corner store vibe with nice people. Definitely a new go-to spot for me!“

“This is a very classic hole in the wall vietnamese spot. Everyone seems to only speak Vietnamese but with some broken English, are able to help. The only menu item I've tried is their vegetarian bun bo and it's absolutely one of my favorites I've ever had. They also have radishes and spices on the side which are so delicious and spicy. Great for people who like an extra kick. I'm so glad I found this spot and I've been stopping by every time I visit Philly because it's that good.“

“The food here is really good, and the place has a nice Vietnamese-inspired feel. I ordered the pork chop over rice, and it was flavorful, filling, and cooked well. The egg on top and the pickled vegetables made the dish even better. Their Vietnamese coffee is also fantastic—strong, sweet, and really refreshing.
The shop is a great place to visit, relax, and get some work done. The inside is clean and comfortable, with plenty of space to sit. One cool thing is that there is also a Pokémon card selling area inside the coffee shop, which makes the place feel unique and fun. The pork chop broken rice is 10/10 as always“

“We always come for the hoagie and coffee, grab and go. Don't be fooled by the lackluster neighborhood and surrounding area, Vinh Long Cafe is an amazing Vietnamese cafe and restaurant that is surely overlooked and underrated. It is a secret gem in South Philly. The Vietnamese iced coffee is made perfectly and the Vietnamese hoagie is unbelievably fresh and authentic. One reason it doesn't get the visits and accolades it deserves is probably due to its environment. Often the cafe seems to be filled with only local friends or family just hanging out. Sometimes the place is completely empty and they play traditional news or music. It doesn't seem too welcoming to those who don't speak the language, but don't be intimidated as this is just the traditional ways of the people there. Just walk up to the owner - who is always at counter - and ask for a Vietnamese hoagie and coffee. They make the hoagie on order right there in front of you. It's fresh and as authentic as it gets. Eat there or take it to go. It's worth the try.“

“I love the food here. But i went there tonight around 730 and it was frigid outside. Just as we were sitting down to eat our food the worker decided to open the doors to carry all the outdoor furniture in then kept them open while he changed trash outside too. Not a care in the world for how freezing it was for his customers. It was extremely disappointing. We drive like 25 minutes to eat here. May be a while before we do that again.“
“Mama Ha’s is regular part of my Saturday to load up on food. Always a variety of summer rolls and vermicelli dishes available to go. Funny is I’ve loved just about everything I’ve had but the one I’m most obsessed with is the Xoi Ga which is just sticky rice, scallions and grilled chicken….and if my wife would allow me to just fill our fridge with this I would. Great Vietnamese coffee also!“

“I’ve walked by this spot so many times, and it seemed every time I was hungry they were closed (closed on weekends) but today I finally stepped in. I ordered 2 bánh mìs and a Vietnamese coffee. Pete, the owner/operator of the spot was the only one there and we instantly jumped into great conversation about the music scene in Philly back in the late 90s. We ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Philly is a tight knit group. So even before eating the food I was already a fan of this spot. Pete served me his special take on Vietnamese coffee while we talked and he made the sandwiches. The iced coffee was excellent, but different and less sweet than Vietnamese coffee I’ve had in the past. He also used ice cubes made of coffee which was an added bonus for a coffee junkie like myself. After we talked for nearly 20 min, I walked home with my sandwich and WOW! Such a solid bánh mì! I told him to make it like he would make it for himself (spicy) and he knocked it out of the park. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing all my music friends here when they are in the neighborhood. I highly encourage Olde City residents as well as Philly locals to give this place a try!“
“My bf is from vietnam and when he misses good home food, we come here!! We’ve tried a good amount of dishes but the ones we recommend are: Banh Canh soup noodle, Mi Quang, Banh Tam Bi, and the Banh Mi with Cha siu. All are very solid choices. The food is authentic, and prices are reasonable. Also the owner is super friendly we love it here.TDLR: It feels like your Asian mom or dad made you a delicious home cooked meal. Would recommend.“

“Right when we walked in the restaurant it smelled like pho made from home. The environment was nice and quiet. The service was fast. I got king chicken wing and the chicken was SOOOOO CRISPY!!! The sauce was so delicious and I couldn't point out what it was but it was so tasty. The pho was great, it came out so fast. +1 point for having chili oil, +1 point for having the green cap chili sauce (iykyk) and the portion size of the pho was worth the price. I also got a lychee fruit tea and it taste just like the fruit. I would recommend this spot, especially being in Jersey!!! Finally found a fav pho spot in Jersey. Good service, good food, no complaint over here. I would post a pic but the food was so good that I forgot to take a photo 😅😅😅“

“I went here for the first time about 20 years ago. I live in nj and have been craving Pho. Honestly, this place is just so cozy with delicious vegeterian pho. It's a good place to go if you dining solo or in big groups. 20 years later and they still have great quality Pho. Also, there are so many noodles in the soup it's definitely filling. I couldn't even finish mine because I was full. Great spot! Relaxing vibe.“

“Came here after a concert around 10:30pm. One of the very few pho spots open on. Tuesday night. The place is SUPER small. There’s only about 4-6 tables in there if that. Prompt and extremely friendly service by the owner who affectionately calls himself “Uncle Sam”. The biggest con I have which I docked a star was the $15 pp minimum. It was only me and my teenage son and I wanted pho before driving 2 hrs back to DE, he ate at the concert and was tired and not hungry. We were forced with the rule and ultimately paid $15 for 6 chicken wings. Yes they were good, but I don’t like a forced minimum for a casual restaurant like this. Nonetheless, the pho was amazing!! Some of the best I had. But they serve it in a large bowl and only fill it up halfway. 95% of the pho I eat with similar price point, I get way more and I can’t even finish the bowl. Side condiments were fresh. Table condiments could’ve been more fresh/clean but it’s Philly, it was late, and I didn’t expect Michelin service. Uncle Sam is a gem and so sweet. Although the food was good, I don’t think I’d return based off of portion size. Again, be mindful of the $15 minimum in case you bring children or someone who didn’t plan on eating much. There’s 20% gratuity for large parties although idk where you’d sit. Btw the “super hot” sticker is not lying. I love chili sauce in my pho, this one looked sketch so I only put a dab in and boy I was on fire, sniffling and all. Beware!“
