We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

“We ate in complete silence. The food was that good.


- The chicken was so moist and packed so much flavor. Even the breast was super moist.
- The green sauce that they gave with the chips was also a hit. We went through two batches of it in one sitting, lol
- The salad and dressing were balanced, simple, and fresh.
- The salchipapa (fries with sausage and dressing) was one of our favorite dishes. Really simple with punchy flavor. Fries were nice and crispy despite being loaded with stuff.
- We had a purple corn beverage that was also so tasty


- Our server was so sweet and friendly!

- The only reason I subtracted 1 star was because the photos on the menu were digitally staged, making them hard to read

“Yeah I got that at the Dominican Restaurant, where at?? Inside the Delta Gas station, sounds sus??

It’s definitely going to raise eyebrows, but let me tell you, the place looks fabulous you walk into a standard gas station convenience store, turn right it’s a wrapped up beautiful fully running restaurant.

Food portions are MASSIVE! A platter with pernil, congris $15 , 2 people can eat from this- or at the very least you’ll have leftovers- unless you’re bougie . The Pollo Guisado was juicy and tender not rock chicken, penil was good. The beans are absolutely scrumptious. We legit got 3 platters, extra rice beans, extra maduro, guineo and a morir soñando (freshly made to order!) check didn’t go past $60 .

“Beef stew and Chivo were good. Beans are ok, not great. A serving of tostones is for 2 people it seems like. 4 stars 🌟 on that. I like the potato salad with eggs but they didn't have that today. Today they had macaroni salad with Tuna but I didn't taste any tuna 1 star 🌟 for the Mac salad. Service is good. It seems like a family run business. Overall I'll give them 4 stars because of they way they treat you like family. If your in passaic and hungry pass by and you won't be sorry.“

“I ordered from two good to go, which is an app that gives you discounted meals for less at the end of the night. They gave me liver which I’m not a fan of liver, but I gave it to a friend. I got potato salad. That was delicious a soup with pork in it and vegetables, rice and beans and a vegetable dish with okra and plantains. I will try out their fried chicken soon everything was packaged very good and the place looks very clean. A+

“The food is extremely good. The place itself is a bit hot and cramped. They're cash only. Portions are bigger if you eat in (way too much to finish) but God value either way. For my money, it's the best well-rounded meal in midtown.“

“I finally made it to Cocina Papa Andres after seeing all the hype on social media and it absolutely lived up to it. I ordered the chimi de carne de res, and it instantly took me back to the Dominican Republic.

The sauce was spot on, the meat was juicy and full of flavor (not dry at all), and the bread had that perfect texture, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also nailed the balance with the cabbage.

Hands down, this is the best chimi I’ve had in New Jersey. Honestly, it can compete with some of the best chimis I’ve had in Washington Heights and Dyckman in New York.

I’ll definitely be coming back regularly, already looking forward to trying their fritura platters.“

“I have been going to Minis restaurant for over 15 years and not once had I had a bad experience there. The food is incredible the service is on point and even when they are packed(which is very often) the ladies always keep up with me and thank me for my patience. The price for the quality of food is the best I have ever seen. I have ordered food at minis well over One Thousand times and the food always hits home. Even though I have moved farther away I still make the 35 minute drive to minis multiple times a week just because no other restaurants has the quality of food that they have. If I could give them 1000 stars I would. I love their food. I love the staff they are so friendly and loving. I highly recommend you go pay them a visit and trust me you won’t regret it!!“

“This is a no frills, no smiles, no music situation but the food is amazing. The lady at the counter could look a little less upset, maybe they should play some music for atmosphere, because it’s like eating in a closet with windows. That said, the food is all that really matters. The rice is fluffy, the beans are perfect, and the stewed beef was the perfect addition. The lemonade is delicious and I’m pretty sure they make their own tres leches cake, it’s good but a tad on the sweet side. All in all, definitely worth a 2nd trip.“
