“Yesterday, I took my sister here for her birthday! We arrived around 5:30 pm and was immediately seated in a cozy little section in the back! Our server, Justin, was phenomenal and kept us laughing the entire time. We started off with the hot appetizers (chicken empanadas, crispy, shiitake wontons, and grilled shrimp with garlic mojo) -everything was delicious. Afterwards, we ordered the steamed shrimp wontons and our main course Bian Pao Salmon along with the ma-po maduros. Great food, great service. The overall experience was definitely a vibe. We will be back. Thanks again Justin for making our first visit to Calle Dao memorable.“

“We landed on Bistro 38 quite by accident and we are so glad we did. They have the longest happy hour known to happy hours (5-8) and they serve a great margarita. The guacamole was delicious, complemented not by corn chips but by plantain chips!!! From the short ribs to the salmon, the food was excellent and the service even better (Michaela was our server). I don't know the bartender's name (we were upstairs), but he was a delight. The whole experience was like being with family - warm, gracious, and welcoming. We will be back.“

“We had a great time here for my brother's birthday. Went at 6 on a Saturday and wasn't too crowded so food came out quickly and everyone was satisfied. I had the steak nachos and a mango mojito. Both were good! The decor is so nice. Would like to go again while the bands are playing.“

“I ate at this restaurant during my Christmas vacation visit to New York. It is fantastic! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is so tasty. It was better than the big advertised restaurants. If you want a real delicious meal and some great music while you eat, go to this place. It's a hidden gem.“

“This was my first visit here. (I previously have had delivery on a couple of occasions and the food was very good.) Despite being a little early for our reservations and the place being very busy, we were seated immediately at the outdoor table I had requested in the reservations. The cocktails didn't take that long to be brought and were very good. The fried calamari appetizer (tapas) was outstanding- each piece perfectly crispy and not one piece was chewy. The sweet chili sauce worked very well with a mild heat in the middle of the tongue surrounded by sweetness. My wife enjoyed the jamon croquettas despite it lacking any sort of aioli or dipping sauce. My main dish of the deep fried Red Snapper was perfectly crisp on the outside, moist and tender inside and all around tasty. My wife enjoyed her fired cheese mofongo. Dessert of guava cheesecake and also the flan were good as well. Overall, service was good and the maitre d' walks around checking in on guests which is a nice touch. Overall, I thought the prices were very reasonable and you get nice size portions making it a good value. Just be aware that inside is fairly large and can get loud. Their windows are thick and outside you only really hear it when the door opens. Considering we live across the street and stare at the place from our windows, we'll be back, likely often.“

“Good food, atmosphere, and drinks. Their empanada were very good, I like their spicy sauce, but if you are a bit more timid, mix the spicy with the mild for a great spice with a kick.“

“I drive a lot for work and I’m constantly looking for nice wam plate of food! Usually I order to go! When I walked in the place is so cute that I thought it might be allowed to order and go! I was greeted nicely and they had no issues with my request! I paid around what I pay at other places for ox tails. I asked for it to be with Moro. My food came out with Moro on the side, beans, and white rice and the ox tails! But also, added plantain chips, and two cookies! I thought that was a great little gift! I’ll be back to dine here again“

Absolutely delicious lunch. The Ropa Vieja was pure comfort on a plate tender, juicy, and full of flavor that hits deep. You could taste the love in every bite.

The service was flawless warm, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. Real hospitality.

And the drinks? Chef’s kiss. Beautifully made, balanced, and definitely did what they needed to do 🍹✨

The vibe is perfect for any mood elevated but relaxed, whether you’re grabbing a solo bite or meeting up with friends.

Fort Lee, you’ve got a gem here.

“Great food and great service. The food reminds me of home and is reasonably priced. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

“Hace poco hice un pedido para un evento social familiar por un valor de $540 pero decidí pagar con mi tarjeta de crédito, obviamente me cobran el impuesto tax 6.625% de venta, sin embargo, tuvieron el descaro de cobrarme un 2.9% adicional por el uso de la tarjeta de crédito. Cuando les pregunté, me dijeron que había un cajero (ATM) automático que podía usar, por lo tanto si lo pagaría en efectivo y solo pagaría $ 540. The menu consists of daily meals (ex: “we serve pot roast and pork on monday for this meal and beef next day”) along side some everyday general options.

This “cafeteria” really is so small and downscale, so dont expect complete upscale food, but you do have a warm cozy hispanic spot. There is a language barrier between English and Spanish but I personally didnt need to worry about it ymmv

Options include soups, some meats, some carb options (tostones, bean, rice) and some veggies.

Food is cheap, but there is a $10 card minimum.“

“I was amazed by "squid rice with shrimp". It's cooked with squid ink. There is no fishy taste at all but all the goodie including red pepper, green pepper oinion, pea and of course squid and shrimp. The drink is amazing. Be careful, they are very very strong! Owners and servers are super friendly as well.“

“The food was great. I got the classic Cuban sandwich and fries. The sandwich was a little smaller than I expected. The fries were excellent . The staff was fun to watch cause the were so busy , they were working together in unison and picking up each others slack when needed. The price for 2 Cubans and fries and a coke was around $30. Pretty typical of NYC.“

Not a fan of the yuca fries they were a bit on the dry side but its always a hit or miss when it comes to Yuca / Yuca fries. “This place is great! I prefer to come here than noches de Colombia. There prices are far better and you can order a baby churrasco with rice and beans and yucca for 12$ so yes visit. The big churrasco for two is 24$ a steal! They also have 7$ plates that are comforting and filling. Support your local businesses. Visit these folks good hard working people“

“Owner is so sweet and workers are attentive even when busy. I am happy to say they take their time with their food, and provide excellent service. I did not mind waiting because scenery and weather was great as they provide seating in front the place.
