“Awesome italian deli with great bread and sandwhiches. They also have a small hot table w prepared foods and a small section of imported Italian goods and mets memorabilia. They own the bakery next door and I saw someone who ordered some amazing looking french toast and bacon egg n cheese on foccacia. They have a garden patio with seating and a fountain that you can sit at and enjoy. The garden area reminds me of my grandparents and elderly relatives. Love how the painted mural has the Bari mentioned.“

“Fillmore Deli and Backroom is a pretty solid neighborhood spot with a surprising mix of options. The Korean fried chicken is actually really good crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. They also have a large variety of sandwiches, so there’s something for whatever mood you’re in.

One thing that always throws me off though is they tend to run out of the tuna pretty often, which is strange for a deli. But besides that, everything else seems to be okay. It’s a reliable place to grab a quick bite and the food usually hits the spot.“

It’s hard finding a place so quaint and personable in the city. For me it’s the fact that the owner will remember you and immediately welcome you as a friend.

The entire process is incredibly smooth. “We visited this spot specifically for the pastrami, and it did not disappoint. It has a milder flavor compared to Katz's, which I actually prefer since it allowed me to finish the whole sandwich in one go. Katz's meat is so intensely flavorful that I usually need to take a break and cleanse my palate before I can finish later. This place is a fantastic alternative if you're in Jersey. The prices are reasonable, and the 8 oz option is perfect for satisfying your craving without breaking the bank. The Knish and macaroni salad were delicious as well. They give you delicious pickles. We’ll definitely be returning often. Update January 2026. Stopped by for some pastrami sandwiches. They are still delicious and worth every penny. Hot dog special this week, $2.00. They were flavorful with an awesome snap.“

“This place has been around for as long as I can remember. I vaguely remember them being in a different location though.....on the corner adjacent to them.....where CVS is now (they expanded that space. The place is small with no tables. There's just a couple of stools by the window. We always order delivery though. Family run by husband, wife and son. They are all very nice and delivery is always within 30 minutes. I've tried a bunch of things from there. Egg sandwiches, cold cut sandwiches, BLTs, burgers, pasta salad, fries etc. I haven't disliked anything. Their fries are a must get! Not sure why they're so good, but they are. As for the pricing, everything is under $10 which is great! Definitely check them out!“
