“My husband and I made the long drive yesterday (2 1/2 hrs each way) from upstate NY to visit our daughter in NYC just for the day. While strolling around her neighborhood we came upon your lovely bakery and cafe and after eyeing the beautiful carrot cake in the window, we had to go in. Carrot cake is my favorite sweet treat. There were so many beautiful choices, but we got 2 slices of carrot cake to take back home with us. After the long drive back home we were really looking forward to a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. I opened one of the beautifully packed boxes, which revealed an enormous slice of yumminess!! The slice was big enough for at least 3 people. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Everything about this cake was phenomenal. The frosting was outstanding, the cake was so flavorful and moist. It was the best we’ve ever had. We have enough left for a few days. I’m so glad we stopped in. It was a great way to end our lovely day in the city and will most certainly go back on our next trek in . I will also have to get our daughter pick up some baked goods when she’s coming home for a visit. I highly recommend Crumbly Cafe & Bakery😊😊“

“My cake was stunningly gorgeous. I never imagined my birthday theme could be so perfectly captured in a cake design, but ByClio exceeded my expectations. It was perfect!
For the cake itself, I got the Indian Summer flavor. It was a little dry and helped me discover that I don't enjoy fruit IN cake, so I would love to try another flavor in the future.“

“If you’re ever in the Bronx and you don’t stop at Gino’s Pastry Shop, you’re missing out on a piece of real New York history. This Arthur Avenue staple has been serving up authentic Italian pastries for decades, and it’s exactly what you want from an old-school bakery — no frills, just flavor and tradition. The cannoli? Legendary. They fill them fresh to order, and the shells are crisp, flaky perfection with creamy ricotta that tastes like it was whipped up by someone’s Nonna in the back. The sfogliatelle and lobster tails are equally iconic — sweet, buttery, and loaded with filling. Don’t sleep on the rainbow cookies either — they’re dense, almondy, and always spot-on. The shop itself is cozy, with that classic Italian-American charm. Gino and the crew treat you like family, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth. Prices are super fair for the quality, and it’s cash-only — so come prepared. Bottom line: Gino’s isn’t just a pastry shop, it’s a Bronx institution. Worth the trip, worth the calories, and worth every bite.“

“As most places in NYC, we stumbled upon this bakery. Once your eyes see it, I challenge you to not go into it. It’s a very colorful place and the person who served us was incredibly patient and friendly (I kept coming back to add to my order). The coffee was very, very good, my cortado was perfect.
We got a couple of pastries for the following day and the croissant (I’m French) was very good even after a day. It was filled with pistachio cream and the size was just right, the cream very nutty and not overly sweet and sickly. Shame we live so far away because I’d make it a regular.“

“The wait isn’t bad, the food is banging and cheap, don’t stand around in the line unless you know what you’re waiting for is the one tip I’ll give, people just stand around without seeing which line they’re in. You can walk right up to the counter if you’ve got cash. Get a few buns to go for later. The shu mai was ok seemed like it had been sitting a while.“

“Me and Bae had some errands to run in the bronx and decided to get some food. He's been years back but it was my first time trying them. As soon as we walked in there was a line that was wrapped around the whole place. It's a Lil confusing but we found the back of the line and slowly but surely made our way to the front. We ordered two beef and chicken patties, two coco bread, one meatloaf(beef filled coco bread) and two carrot juice and a ting soda. They get u up outta there fast tho and it's only cash. When we were leaving the line was forming outside the store so just be patient. We couldn't wait to get to the car and tear into everything. The first one I grabbed was the beef and while it was good it wasn't as seasoned as I thought it would be. But the chicken I really enjoyed and it was a Lil spicy. I ate that with the coco bread. Bae put his whole beef patty in his coco bread and devoured it lol but even he admits the beef was better back in the day. All in all I Def will be back for that chicken patty and soft delicious coco bread. Oh and that carrot juice was delicious as well Def recommend grabbing one!“

“So happy to have finally tried it! 🍪🤎
• I was very excited to try Levain, and it did not disappoint.
• Crunchy on the outside with ooey-gooey, chocolatey goodness inside—super buttery too!
• Ordered the classic chocolate chip walnut and will definitely be back to try the peanut butter dark chocolate and oatmeal. Also curious about the toffee and coconut flavors.
• Staff are kind and helpful when you ask for recommendations. There can be lines, but they move fast.
• A few stools and tables are available by the windows for dine-in.
• A definite must-try when in NYC!“

“I work for a law firm in CA and we have an employee who works remotely in NY.. For our employee's birthday I wanted to choose a bakery close to her home and who was local. Stumbled upon Buttercup Bake Shop and they were so awesome! Totally worked with me and delivered the cupcakes with NO hassle. Needless to say our NY employee was super happy and LOVED the flavors and decorations of the cupcakes. ❤️“

“Crumbl Cookie is an absolute treat every single time! From the moment you walk in, the smell alone is enough to make your day better. The rotating weekly menu keeps things exciting, and every cookie I’ve tried has been perfectly baked—crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside. The flavors are creative, rich, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Even the classic chocolate chip is next-level. The staff is always friendly, service is fast, and the presentation is beautiful. Crumbl isn’t just cookies—it’s an experience. Highly recommend for satisfying any sweet craving! 🍪✨“

“A long-established cake shop in New York's Chinatown recommended by Xiaohongshu. The individual items are relatively simple. Coffee, milk tea, cake No other items I personally prefer the original flavor of paper-wrapped cakes. I heard this is the original store. The other stores only sell replicas.“

“OMG...this IS the best sponge cake you'll have in NYC. I've had my fair share looking for one that compares to the original Kam Hing. The owner apprenticed with the original Kam Hing owner and finally opened his own cafe! Can't go wrong with the original flavor but the pandan coconut is sooooo goood! it's my new fav! This is my new go to place for sponge cakes!“

“Are you passionate about pistachios? I am and at Petit Chou there is a pistachio éclair ($8) that is simply divine. Studded with a profusion of the tasty nuts, this pastry also has pistachio cream inside making each bite heavenly. I ate this last Friday. It's best to wait a few minutes to let it soften a bit before starting to eat. When I truly enjoy something I tend to eat slowly savoring each bite even though I know I may have it again.“

“Eating the apple turnover inspired me to write this review - I've been here many times and nothing has disappointed me. Everything tastes super fresh, flavorful - even down to the chocolate in the chocolate croissant (it's like...not standard dark chocolate. I dont know what it is but its great and I enjoy it). Kinda expensive but worth it if you're ever in the area.“

“This is some of the best food around, full stop – and it just happens to be veg friendly. But beyond that, this is a very special establishment. It’s the kind of place where every single part of the experience reflects care and intention – from the menu, to the decor, down to the cutlery. The vibe is casual, and the folks working there are welcoming and make you feel taken care of. The cumulative experience makes for a level of hospitality that many more formal restaurants in the city have lost. I hope this place is around for many years to come.“

“Tbh the gluten free muffin was divine. I thought I had the best gf banana bread recipe but this put me in my place. I would have never known it was buckwheat/gluten free. So moist and fluffy and the perfect sweetness.
There’s a short wait if you’re getting a burrito but there was no line or wait for a baked good.
Their prices are steep-ish but fair given their popularity. The muffin after tax was $6.50.
Honestly so many gluten free options it was great.“

“This place is cozy and makes for a nice place to go out with friends, dates or even alone! I went in by myself and tried their banh mi, which despite not being like what you would find in a typical Vietnamese spot, was super tasty and I highly recommend it. Use my photo as evidence of how good it is, I ate half of it before I finally took a photo, haha. The bread itself was soft, it tasted fresh, and the filling wasn't overly spicy or bland, it was just right. The baked goods looked tempting and I might have to try them next time.
Service wise, they're great. The staff will let you know how long you'll wait for items and they are good at what they do, both in the front facing customers and in the back prepping.“

“UPDATE: So I went ahead and ordered from Fabrique on Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras even though I was disappointed with the one I had initially, and as you can see on the second image on this review it's a lot better! Bun is fluffy, cream is great, color is spot on. It could have a bit more almond creme, but it's still enough to be nice. Thanks for the delivery to the Instagram office!
Cosy cafe, but as a Swede with high standards, their Semla does not cut it.
At an initial look, the size is great. Not too much, but still substantial, and the whipped cream looks smooth. However, it's.. grey?! Not sure if they just forgot to add egg when baking the buns, but looks a bit sad.
When starting to eat, there are three things to observe: 1) the whipped cream is smooth, well done on that part. 2) the bun is not fluffy, actually closer to dry, making the whole Semla quite boring. 3) waaaay to little almond creme. A boring bun can be saved by a lot of almond creme, however there is a minimal amount in this one. Even if the bun was perfect I'd be disappointed.
Overall this is a 2 or 3 on a scale of 5. The only reason it could be a 3 is because there are very few places that offer Semla in NYC. That said, if you're one of the few Swedish bakeries in town, you have a responsibility to represent the country in a better way than this. Especially when you charge an outrageous $9.5 for it.
Back to the drawing board Fabrique, this is not good.
Otherwise the cafe is cosy and the people working there seem friendly.“

“Maria makes the best carrot cake, red velvet, trees leches, plain and almond croissants I’ve ever tasted. Her passion for pastry is simply unbeatable. This isn’t because I provide her with same day delivery service, but I’m speaking as her customer as well. Her pastries are crafted with arts and the taste speaks for itself. I’m very familiar with French pastries for far too many years, so mark my words, if you’re looking for authentic French pastries, Les Gateaux De Marie is the place to go.“

“My opinion is 8.7/10. Is it the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had? No but overall our place that makes handmade Jamaican beef patties with a good overall flavor I recommend it. Best thing definitely has to be the crust I just wish for $3 it was a little bit more meat / seasoning. Check out my in depth video reviews on any of the platforms below. “My go-to bakery. Best egg custard tarts. Not too sweet with the flakiest crust. Baked bbq pork buns also excellent. Loaded with meat and not too sweet, either. Oh, don’t forget to buy a box of the walnut cookies for $5, as well as a box of the crispy sesame cookies made with egg whites. Just divine!“

“I honestly love everything they sell here, especially the macaroons! Some places make it too sweet or too dry, this is perfect. My only complaint is I wish the store really displayed how good their treats are. If the place looked better, I feel like more people would try their stuff. They're so good!“
