“My husband and I made the long drive yesterday (2 1/2 hrs each way) from upstate NY to visit our daughter in NYC just for the day. While strolling around her neighborhood we came upon your lovely bakery and cafe and after eyeing the beautiful carrot cake in the window, we had to go in. Carrot cake is my favorite sweet treat. There were so many beautiful choices, but we got 2 slices of carrot cake to take back home with us. After the long drive back home we were really looking forward to a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. I opened one of the beautifully packed boxes, which revealed an enormous slice of yumminess!! The slice was big enough for at least 3 people. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Everything about this cake was phenomenal. The frosting was outstanding, the cake was so flavorful and moist. It was the best we’ve ever had. We have enough left for a few days. I’m so glad we stopped in. It was a great way to end our lovely day in the city and will most certainly go back on our next trek in . I will also have to get our daughter pick up some baked goods when she’s coming home for a visit. I highly recommend Crumbly Cafe & Bakery😊😊“

“Seeing my specially themed cake (Chocolate Chocolate Cake, consisting of Chocolate Cake, chocolate pudding, chocolate frosting), was a pleasant surprise. With my background in herbology, I think ByClio Bakery did a commendable job. They patiently listened to what vision was expected during the ordering process (I grow my own fruits and vegetables, including edible flowers), The cake's flowers (Dahlia / Marigold / Calendula /Snapdragon / Craspedia / Chrysanthemum just to identify a few) were edible and evoked a summer vibe, with flavors that matched its attractive appearance. Her honesty influenced my review; she explained the carefully wrapped sunflowers stems used as a finishing touch for the garden theme were not edible. The remaining ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The Mocha had a rich chocolate pudding layer and moist cake, the moose like outer layer was light and whipped, indulging in a second slice did not result in excessive sweetness.“

“If you’re ever in the Bronx and you don’t stop at Gino’s Pastry Shop, you’re missing out on a piece of real New York history. This Arthur Avenue staple has been serving up authentic Italian pastries for decades, and it’s exactly what you want from an old-school bakery — no frills, just flavor and tradition. The cannoli? Legendary. They fill them fresh to order, and the shells are crisp, flaky perfection with creamy ricotta that tastes like it was whipped up by someone’s Nonna in the back. The sfogliatelle and lobster tails are equally iconic — sweet, buttery, and loaded with filling. Don’t sleep on the rainbow cookies either — they’re dense, almondy, and always spot-on. The shop itself is cozy, with that classic Italian-American charm. Gino and the crew treat you like family, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth. Prices are super fair for the quality, and it’s cash-only — so come prepared. Bottom line: Gino’s isn’t just a pastry shop, it’s a Bronx institution. Worth the trip, worth the calories, and worth every bite.“

“Really great assortment of vegan desserts as well as regular. I tried the vegan pain au chocolat, which was very good! Didn’t have a weird vegan butter texture, which is sometimes an issue with pastries. They also have a restroom in the back, which is a plus!“

“We came here to try the iconic pineapple pork bun! It’s pretty good but my partner definitely enjoyed it more than I did. I wish I was in NYC longer to try out everything else on their menu. Everything looked good and reasonably priced.“

“I recently visited Radio Bakery and was impressed by the quality of both the pastries and focaccia sandwiches. The bakery has a welcoming atmosphere, and everything tasted fresh and carefully crafted. The croissants were flaky and buttery, while the sandwiches were packed with flavor. Service was efficient despite the crowd, and the overall experience lived up to the bakery’s strong reputation. A great spot for breakfast, coffee, or a quick bite in Brooklyn.“

“I was a kid going to this place, just about every sunday after church. The first bite is exactly as good as I remember. Must get a beef pattie with a cocoa bread. But now, they have the meat loaf (beef pattie filling directly in a cocoa bread😤). Don't forget a fresh carrot juice! MUST BRING CASH!!!“

“BEST DONUTS I HAVE EVER HAD! If you’re ever in NYC, make sure to try Kora’s donuts. These donuts are AMAZING! They are all infused with Filipino flavor and culture. I first heard about them on YouTube when a food channel featured them. These are rich and decadent donuts without being overwhelmingly sweet. They are custom made too and made fresh the day of pick up. Check them out!!“

“I seriously can’t say enough good things about this bakery! The second I walked in, I was already obsessed with how cute and cozy it was. The aesthetic is absolutely beautiful, and honestly, I wanted to move in. 😂 You can tell everyone who works there puts so much love and hard work into everything they make. The cakes are actual works of art—I almost felt guilty cutting into mine… almost. 😅 They looked incredible and somehow tasted even better. The staff was so friendly and welcoming that it felt like they genuinely wanted you there, which is rare these days. If you’re looking for a bakery that’ll make your taste buds happy and your camera roll even happier, this is the place. The chocolate is that damn good! Just be warned… you’ll probably leave with more treats than you planned. (No regrets though!)“

“We went directly here after eating at the Cafe because I had my heart set on an onion bagel, and possibly a garlic bagel. The Cafe didn't have either option but I needed them in my life. So we walked over right after. Super cute small spot. Beautiful smoked fish in the cases, amazing cream cheese options. I so wanted the caviar cream cheese, but we just ate and we were gonna be walking around for a few hours. So I got 2 onion and 2 garlic bagels. They thought we was nuts not wanting anything done with them. Like I said I just needed them gonna enjoy it tomorrow morning as our Great American Road Trip continues to Boston. Personally next time.. I'd go to this original location, more variety, of bagels and cream cheese, but no seating. So pick what works for you but definitely Go! 100% recommend.“

“I wish I could give this place 6 stars. Heard about it from my favorite podcast, so when I finally made it to NYC, I made the journey to this little place in a quiet Brooklyn neighborhood and couldn't have been more impressed. Best sandwich I've eaten in years--halloumi w/ hummus, roasted squash, and pickled onion on their amazing foccacia. Wish I could go back today. I also ate one of the best pastries I've ever had, a chocolate croissant with a *pretzel* finish. Wow! Just wow. Please just go there.“

“This classic Chinatown bakery has such a nostalgic, no-frills atmosphere with the smell of fresh buns and pastries filling the air. The egg tarts were flaky with silky custard, the pork buns were juicy and hot, and the milk tea was strong and sweet. Staff was efficient and friendly. Total around $12-18 per person. An absolute gem for affordable Chinese pastries and coffee!“

“The cookie was a bit expensive, but it's worth the hype and you gotta try the original walnut chocolate chip cookie since that is what Levain Bakery is known for. The cookie was dense in both flavor and size, but I bet warming the cookie up would make it taste even better.“

Stumbled upon Buttercup Bake Shop and they were so awesome! Totally worked with me and delivered the cupcakes with NO hassle. “OMG...this IS the best sponge cake you'll have in NYC. I've had my fair share looking for one that compares to the original Kam Hing. The owner apprenticed with the original Kam Hing owner and finally opened his own cafe! Can't go wrong with the original flavor but the pandan coconut is sooooo goood! it's my new fav! “Out of the several places I had eaten at in the city, this was easily the best. The young lady at the counter was extremely welcoming and kind. I was able to try the the dirty horchata, strawberry match and jelly bomboloni. All three were incredible. The bombolini was easily the best pastry I had in NY. I cannot recommend this place enough! If the staff/owner sees this, thank you very much for your hospitality and the great experience!“

“Radio Bakery… is perfection. I completely understand the line.
I first ordered the heirloom tomato & feta sandwich, which was unbelievable. It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way.
The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it.
The chocolate cherry almond croissant… wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates.
5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. Everyone even in line was very nice, the vibes were awesome. I’ll definitely be back to try the spicy tofu sandwich and the heirloom tomato tart!“
