“I could not find the words to express how exceptional the Proving Ground is!
My husband and I were looking to host an engagement party/surprise wedding to eliminate the huge, elaborate, unaffordable 300 person wedding. We toured a few places and didn't really feel like it was "it."
Following our tour with Ashley at the PG, we both walked out and immediately said "if you could take a picture from our brain this would be it." Ashley gave us every detail, provided us several quotes to work with our budget and was absolutely amazing in every way. We immediately confirmed our date, the menu and got everything under way. Since the restaurant has amazing views and a rustic theme we didn't need many decorations, but just some florals and a few things about our story.
When I tell you the day of was INCREDIBLE from start to finish, that would literally be an understatement. Every single staff member, and I mean EVERY single one was attentive, kind, enthusiastic, accommodating and absolutely wonderful, and not just to me, but to everyone at our party. They went ABOVE and beyond to make me and my husband feel like a million dollars!
Truly wish I could find the words to articulate even just the little things they did to make sure everything was seamless- between fixing the netting of my dress before walking down the aisle, coordinating the timing with the DJ, making sure the food was out on time + restocked promptly, the bartenders working at rapid pace, to packing up food boxes so my husband and I would have something to eat once we got home, they did and thought of EVERYTHING. We did have the beautiful , elaborate wedding because of the Proving Ground.
The food, cocktails, service, delivery, communication, and assistance is so important when planning a party let alone for 150ppl but to feel completely unfazed or concerned at all, it was AMAZING.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding day so fantastic for us ???

“Probably my favorite family friendly restaurant in all of New Jersey. Never had a bad bite. Service is always above and beyond accommodating and friendly, especially with young children. Food is priced reasonably despite the massive inflation we're all going through. The seasonal chicken pot pie is something I look forward to getting every year. They always have delicious and fun new specials. Most recently I tried their Thanksgiving meatballs with cranberry mayo dipping sauce and I was incredibly impressed. This place is a 10 of 10 every time. Oh and it also has stunning sunset views. If I didn't live almost 40 minutes away I'd be there way more often.“

The food and cocktails were delicious and everyone from the owner to the busboy was so sweet, fun, and helpful. “ONLY USE SLICE LIFE TO ORDER ONLINE. apparently they have other places to order online that are still set up, but they are no longer working with them so if you want to order a pizza and pay for it and then 20 minutes later, show up with nothing prepared, don’t use slice life. If you want a pizza to be ready, then you should use sliced life only. The restaurant really needs to go through and make sure other places are not taking money on their behalf if they are not accepting the orders. For that they lose a star. We wish we could write them on the pizza.“

“I had dinner at Eventide last Saturday night. We were lucky enough to have Jack as our server. Not only was he incredibly attentive and anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them, but he was also so nice! He really is an asset to the restaurant. His demeanor is incredible, and his personality is charming and delightful. Food was great. We had fish tacos, salads and wings... We had such a nice night, it was only made better because we had Jack as our server. Oh, and they have live music outside! You never have to leave :) I highly recommend Eventide.“

“I like this place: good food, reasonable prices, and mellow atmosphere. Usually I get 10 wings; my favorite sauces are regular hot sauce or honey barbecue. The Cajun barbecue sauce tastes too much like ketchup. The lemon pepper isn't bad, but is a little salty. The container of blue cheese is enough to dip all of them, and.the wings themselves have sufficient meat. I did get the shrimp once, it was good.“
