“We tried Hook & Reel for the first time and enjoyed it so much, we went back 2 days later. The food was well prepared, delicious, and served hot. Yummy lobster bisque, I ordered a 2nd bowl after finishing the first! Fried calamari was yummy as well. The raw oysters were perfect and the boil with Hook & Reel's own Cajun sauce was outstanding. Our server, Moe, was friendly and very efficient; he makes your dining experience error-free so you can relax and enjoy the meal. The Manager here gets credit for a well-run ship! He really appreciates the customers and it shows. You will definitely want to eat here frequently. Great service, tasty food, relaxed atmosphere - you won't be disappointed.“

“Kudos go out to the Marina Cafe for doing Thanksgiving up right! No wonder the restaurant was packed today. A wide variety of plates to choose from today, making it hard to decide. We went with the Turkey Dinner and it was perfect. What a tender bird, roasted perfectly. The tiramisu at the end was the cherry on the cake. Best I ever had! I know sometimes it's hit or miss when you go out to eat on a holiday! Not the case at the Marina Cafe! And of course, the view can't be beat! ? — at Marina Cafe.“

“Thank goodness something this good opened up. Will there be grilled fish in the summer? I think they might need more help. We ve had some trouble with getting the right order. Once we ordered and paid over $50 and when my husband went to pick it up they were closed. The next day they made our order fresh but it was wrong. Still, the food was excellent. Right now, I was trying to call in the order, the guy picked up and put the phone down, forgot I’m on the line and I’m just listening to the store sounds now, at least 5 min. I wonder if he smoked pot before. Screws up short term memory. The food is stupendous but I think they need more or better help. If they had a little outside we would show up to dine there.“

“Thanks to a friend of ours, we found a nice spot for Mediterranean cuisine! The Sahara bread was amazing… Falafel was the best I ever had and the hummus was DELISH! Main dish, I had chicken gyro dish, it was exactly what I wanted. The service was very welcoming… give it a try if you like this type of cuisine.“

“Visited a restaurant for the birthday party in May 2022. Clean, welcomed staff, good service, a lot of parking on the street. We placed an order. It was not too long, which is good because the reservation was for 6:30 pm and everybody was hungry. Appetizers were delicious especially both types of calmers. 3 people ordered NYS trip stakes. OMG! All 3 stakes were stingy. Nobody finished the stake. Medium and well done came up the same. Black color even tongue was black after eating the steak. It's because when cooked the steak did not clean the grail. Also, I recommend checking your receipt. We found 3 items that we did not get on the table for a total of almost $80. One of them we never ordered, and two newer ones were delivered to the table.“

“This restaurant is clean. The waiters and waitress are kind the prices are reasonable but best of all the food is great. The lobster in not over cooked and taste delicious. The rice is not hard scorched or burned. My best friend and I enjoyed our food and the serving was so good and well proportioned that we took food home. The atmosphere was fantastic“

“Loosing cafe Luna on Paige ave was tough. It was family and it was my go to! Always knowing of this, Luna on Hylan Blvd, was told to try it. It's Pretty much the same, try it! Being apprehensive I went and I'm glad I did! I'm establishing another family real fast. The pizza is outstanding. There are different flavors. Don't get me wrong but still Stella food and service. I recommend going there if you're in the same boat as me with losing out on Paige Ave Luna. Alex and his staff are fantastic! Very attentive and it's a family atmosphere. A++++“

“My family and I order take out from here all the time and let me tell you, they’re consistent. The food is always delicious and fresh, and the portions for the price are unmatched. I had the house salad followed by a medium rare ribeye, my daughter had the Caesar salad, and a medium rare NY Strip my husband had the steak tips volcano (not sure that is the correct name) All of it was perfectly prepared. We Finished dinner with a to die for pecan pie and crème brûlée. Both the food and service were exceptional.“

We dined here tonight as a party of four, and overall, we had a wonderful experience.

We started with lentil soup, which we absolutely loved, perfectly fried liver cubes, and an excellent selection of cold appetizers. For the main course, everyone ordered their own dish: pide, lahmacun, and Iskender, with an extra lahmacun to share. Everything was great except the Iskender. Its sauce tasted more like a margarita-style tomato sauce than traditional Iskender sauce. Still, it was okay.

For dessert, we had rice pudding and kazandibi. The rice pudding was good, while the kazandibi was just okay. According to my son, he has had better kazandibi here before, so perhaps it was just an off day. I also ordered two additional desserts to take home.

Now, a couple of small things I’d like to mention, not to take away from the experience, but as constructive feedback for management.

First, when you add takeout items to the same bill, the automatic service charge also applies to those items, even though they were never served at the table. For a party of four, that’s something worth reconsidering.

Second, when a bill shows two different totals, one for cash and another for credit card, it suggests that even a few dollars matter to the business. That’s understandable, but my dollars matter to me, too.

By the way, I always prefer paying cash and leaving a good tip. Your 18% service charge wasn’t enough for me, so I increased it to 25%. I believe good service deserves appreciation.

These are small details compared with the quality of the food and, especially, the great service we received. I’m mentioning them because I genuinely value having your restaurant here in Staten Island and want to see you continue to succeed.

“Owners Frank and Carmen treat you like family from the minute you walk in. It’s a small cozy place which we loved. We are all food lovers used to eating out and yet we were all impressed when we tried all the fresh specials Frank prepared off menu. The Tomahawk steak was absolutely amazing especially with his own special sauce that accompanied it. The eggplant pasta special with olives was phenomenal. Carmen was lovely making sure we were attended to and uncorked our wine as it is a BYOB for now. Both of them made a special birthday dessert tray for me as a surprise.
