As an investor in restaurants I'm very critical when visiting any restaurant and not often impressed even with well known critically acclaimed restaurants. It's very rare when a place has truly incredible food with every appetizer and entree as well as first class VIP vibes for service. You could literally taste the passion and care put into every plate with beautifully prepared flavorful abundant meals. In fact, it was the first time in almost a decade I brought home leftovers as the meal was delicious and easily sufficient for two people. Our entire table raved about their meals and the attentive but not obtrusive service was always there to refill our wine and assist without any of us having to look up for service. The food alone would have made for a great night but what truly made it memorable besides the great waitstaff was the manager, Eli. When was the last time a manager, GM or owner greated you at your table to share a polite, interesting and passionate conversation about the food and why they love sharing this experience with their valued customers? He made our entire table feel like VIPs and made perfect recommendations for wine and dessert. It felt more like we were in someone's home as we were there for close to 3-1/2 hours talking, eating, drinking and laughing. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious and the memories of a great experience will certainly bring us back again.“

I was also pleasantly surprised by the fried milk; I had never tried it before, but the lady was kind enough to give us a sample, and I ended up absolutely loving it. “Seafood pimps was the best decision I could had made to celebrate my 56th birthday. I decided to purchase the Nexf ix & Chill. First the presentation was SUPERB. The crabs, mussels and shrimp were FRESH and DELECTABLE. The vegetables were seasoned to perfection. least of them all the amount that you receive is enough to feed a full size family, and we only ordered for two. I will definitely be back. I recommend Seafood Pimps to anyone that enjoy fresh mouth watering seafood.“

“Vegetarians, don't let the name keep you away: this place is a wonderful option. The soup bases are all vegetarian, as they proclaim on the very first line of the menu.

I got the traditional Chinese sauerkraut soup with two kinds of tofu. Let me say up front that very few foods taste genuinely novel to me, and I love all kinds of fermented vegetables. So the second pleasant surprise (after the great menu) was the flavor of this dish. I simply could not place it. Was it some kind of citrus? Lemongrass? No, the server said, it's really just the fermented vegetables doing it. I still don't quite believe it, but it was not a taste I'd ever ever had.

Bella was incredibly sweet, friendly, and attentive throughout our entire meal. She took our drink order promptly, answered all of our questions about the menu with confidence, and kept a close eye on our table to make sure we had everything we needed. Her warm personality and genuine care made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

We live in Maryland and Florida, so unfortunately we probably won't have the opportunity to dine here again. “Lunch service was nice. However my brother ordered a Paella and there was hardly any rice in it. Given the fact the waiter insisted it would feed 3 I'm glad he ordered his solo cause it was barely enough for him. I ordered a chicken breast and chorizo lunch special. It was good. Aside from the spicy flavors it was great. The service was fantastic. It's no wonder they've been around for a long time. My brother recommended this place since he's been coming here a long time. I'm definitely opened to give it another try.“

“My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. We recommend it highly and urge lovers of fine dining to not wait but reserve a table NOW. We're sure you'll find it to be as special as we do.“
