“One of the best dim sum restaurant in Central Jersey! Lunch time is highly recommended. On the weekend, they bring food on a cart and you can pick whatever you want to eat. Everything is so tasty and we love it! Price is very reasonable. You can also order from Entree menu, which is also delicious.
It gets very crowded on weekend lunch time, so recommend going as soon as they open at 11:30am.“

“This place has easily become my go-to spot and honestly my favorite restaurant around. We order from here at least twice a week, and every single time the food shows up hot, fresh, and seriously delicious. The consistency is what really stands out. No matter what we order, it’s always high quality and clearly made with care.

At this point I’ve tried a good portion of the menu. The gyros are excellent, packed with flavor and always satisfying. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The sides are great too. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese are legit comfort food, and the fries are always hot and crispy. I’ve also had the Philly cheesesteak, which is fantastic, and most recently tried the burger. The burger was outstanding and easily one of the best takeout burgers I’ve had in the area.

What really blows me away is the value. For around $15 you can get a burger, fries, and a soda. That’s basically the price of fast food now, but the quality here is on a completely different level. You’re getting real, flavorful food that actually feels worth the money.

“Went for dinner, and the waiter was very disorganized, took him a while to bring out drinks (coffee and a iced tea), then he was so overwhelmed with his other tables, he didn't bring us our food, another server did. My steak was overcooked, had to send it back, Manager brought me the new steak which was actually correct. Our waiter was so disorganized he swapped the bill for my table (a party of 2) with another table (a party of 8), I immediately asked for the manager as he said he charged my card for their meal. This kid has no business being in the food service industry. Thankfully the manager was able to cancel the higher charge on my card. Aside from a horrible waiter, the food was good.“

It's very rare when a place has truly incredible food with every appetizer and entree as well as first class VIP vibes for service. You could literally taste the passion and care put into every plate with beautifully prepared flavorful abundant meals. In fact, it was the first time in almost a decade I brought home leftovers as the meal was delicious and easily sufficient for two people. Our entire table raved about their meals and the attentive but not obtrusive service was always there to refill our wine and assist without any of us having to look up for service. The food alone would have made for a great night but what truly made it memorable besides the great waitstaff was the manager, Eli. When was the last time a manager, GM or owner greated you at your table to share a polite, interesting and passionate conversation about the food and why they love sharing this experience with their valued customers? He made our entire table feel like VIPs and made perfect recommendations for wine and dessert. It felt more like we were in someone's home as we were there for close to 3-1/2 hours talking, eating, drinking and laughing. The amenities and thoughtfulness they put into this experience puts this place in a league of its own. We did the 4lbs (we are a family of 6) with the Cajun sauce. The soup was incredibly tasty, and the 'mini' size with extra fish was more than enough to feed three people—it’s a great value. I got the traditional Chinese sauerkraut soup with two kinds of tofu. Let me say up front that very few foods taste genuinely novel to me, and I love all kinds of fermented vegetables. So the second pleasant surprise (after the great menu) was the flavor of this dish. I simply could not place it. Was it some kind of citrus? Lemongrass? No, the server said, it's really just the fermented vegetables doing it. I still don't quite believe it, but it was not a taste I'd ever ever had.

“My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. We recommend it highly and urge lovers of fine dining to not wait but reserve a table NOW. We're sure you'll find it to be as special as we do.“

We went with the Turkey Dinner and it was perfect. What a tender bird, roasted perfectly. The tiramisu at the end was the cherry on the cake. Best I ever had! However the presentation of the food leaves a good deal to be desired. They serve on paper strays with plastic spoons. Paper would be fine if it was of a higher / thicker quality. The plastic utensils would also be fine if they weren’t of the kiddie party variety. The We had soft shelled crab, fried shrimp and catfish with boiled Cajun pototes and French fries. All of the food was good, neither over cooked not undercooked. The soft shell carb was pretty good. What was annoying was that the (soupy) boiled potato(s) side dish was served in a Saran Wrap baggie tied in a knot and put in the same paper tray with the fried soft shell crab. It was hard to tear it open without spilling the contents all over the table. However the side dish potatoes were good. The problem was the plating. The French fries were also good, neither overcooked nor undercooked and tender. While the food is good you and the restaurant is decently decorated, you get the impression that they have a very very tight budget for necessities as in utensils, plates and trays. Nevertheless we will eat there again or have their food delivered. They do not have a delivery service so you must use Uber or Doordash.“

“1st and last time coming here. With the price of the buffet you would think they will have more food selections. The food was nasty, cold and dry. The hibachi was closed and the steak they did make and put out was cold, tough and been sitting out for a while. Crabs were cold and small they were stingy with putting everything out in small portions. Didn't have any snow crabs like they advertise. The bubble tea was free so my children didn't know upon leaving we had to pay for it. The rude receptionist ran and chased us down out the door and snatched them out my kids hands. If she wasn't so rude i would of went back to pay for them. I spent a total of $267 including $40 tip for nasty buffet and service. False advertising on social media made me come here. Never again“
