“OMG! I don't even know where to start. I've this restaurant on my list for a few weeks now. I left work from New Jersey and found lots of parking spots. When I walked in I felt like I went to visit my Aunty. Shawnea opened the door and welcomed in. It's a small cozy restaurant, the place doesn't smell like food it smells like eucalyptus candles and the food OMG! This is the best soul food I've ever had. I got Mac and cheese, collard greens, candy yams, oxtail, sauteed shrimps, and the strawberry corn bread. I'm in heaven!!!! I'll definitely be back.“

“This was another first for us but after reading the reviews we decided to try it. We went around 6:00 so we were seated right away. Service was fast. My son wanted a burger my husband ordered the steak sandwich and french onion soup and I ordered the shrimp scampi. The only thing I was a little disappointed was that the shrimp scampi came with nothing you had to pay to put rice and broccoli as sides so that made it a little pricey about $40. We didn't wait long for the food and the food was delicious none of us had any complaints very tasty nice size portions. Once we received our food the restaurant became a little bit more crowded and then nobody ever came over again to ask us if we needed anything or even wanted dessert. So we just asked for the check. In total for two drinks, a Shirley Temple a soup and three entrees the check was about $100 which we thought was very reasonable. The food was delicious and again the service was good up until the end when they got a little busier but other than that I think we would definitely go back. We parked on the street. The parking lot isn't that big but I think you can find plenty of parking in the neighborhood.“

We stopped in for brunch and enjoyed their bottomless bubbly, our server recommended the Hugo Spritz and it was fantastic! This place is an old school style restaurant and I heard good things about it, so at 59 years old I visited there on September 16, 2023 with my wife and another couple for the first time. We all loved the food. The menu is so big it reminds me of a diner menu but classier and we all loved our entrees and appetizers. The drinks had a generous pour of booze and the food was excellent. Reading thru some of the bad reviews, they may have had a couple of off nights however none of them made sense to me. We both ordered a roast beef sandwich. I had the South Shore. It was fantastic. The beef was juicy, the bread fresh, everything was great. In addition to a pair of roast beef sandwiches, we ordered a hot pretzel and the apple-cinnabon dessert. Everything was great. In addition to this, we got to chat with Edward who had just started his shift serving us animals (he was a gentleman) as well as Rusty (former owner of Rusty's) who gave us a little history lesson on the transition of Rusty's to Point Tavern. I will definitely be back again as it was a good place to have a drink or have some drinks and grab some good pub food. There is a bar area, separate dining area as well as an outdoor space. The surrounding streets offer ample street parking.“

The menu is huge with unique dishes I haven’t seen at other bars. The food was so good I had started with two appetizers and a entree. The pretzel was fresh, soft and delicious, I just wish it had less sodium in it. The spinach and artichoke dip was so yummy. The sushi was my favorite dish, it was of the best sushi I ever had. Sitting at the bar I had a Guinness or two and decided to order pork chops based on the suggestion of the regulars sitting on either side of me. It was a solid recommendation because not only was it much tastier than anything that the chain restaurants offer, but even being very hungry I could barely finish it (the portions are big, they don't skimp). Even though the lady bartender is attentive enough to anticipate when you need a refill and the regulars are friendly, I am still somewhat hesitant to say much more and draw attention to what appears to be a hidden gem.“

“With a charcuterie board, seven cheese mac and cheese and double decker grilled cheese on the menu this place takes cheese seriously. I had the double decker and will go back for the mac and cheese if I get a chance. The tap list is average but they did have a few interesting choices in cans. I’m not a whisky drinker but they did have a lot of whisky so if that’s your drink of choice you can enjoy a good whisky with your choice if cheesy goodness. The music was a little loud but not so much that you couldn’t talk to someone. There is also a good amount of pool tables.“

There is a restaurant/take out joint next door that you are welcome to enjoy there.The service is great and the best part is their outdoor patio in the back of the bar.Plenty of seating and they have live music on occasion.
