“I'm not sure if it's a store tradition, but I should have known that you were going to serve me cold mac and cheese. Overall, the fried whiting dinner was excellent, and the fried shrimp dinner was passable but a little overcooked. Nevertheless, I gave you guys four stars without a doubt.“

“I’ve been to this food hall many times, but nothing wowed me more than Baby’s BB. The food was hot and cooked fresh on the spot. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy, the rice was flavorful, and both the salad and coleslaw were delicious. The chili sauce paired perfectly with the dish, and the portion was huge for just $20. Honestly, I’d recommend this place to all my friends!“

“I visited this place after seeing it on TikTok, I was craving some good fish and thought I’d give it a try. Honestly, I didn’t have any expectations, but the entire experience turned out to be an incredible surprise.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear they recognized we were tourists, and they welcomed us with such warmth and hospitality. They took the time to explain the menu and help us choose our dishes, which we really appreciated.

The service was fast, and before our actual order arrived, they brought out three generous tasting plates so we could sample a variety of flavors. At first, I thought that was our full order, it was that impressive! Then came our main dishes, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The shrimp in particular were unforgettable, so fresh and flavorful.

If there were more than 5 bubbles to give, I absolutely would. The food, the people, the atmosphere, everything was extraordinary. A truly heartwarming and tasty experience. Highly recommended!“

“We went there to get some good seafood & they didn't disappoint us! The server/cook was very nice and professional about their service. The food was delicious and worth to wait for because they cook it after you put the order in. They have a little place to seat and enjoy the meal with friends and family. “I went to the seaport to get some sun and then felt like having some shrimp and fish to take home. After looking online, I discovered this place that had great reviews, so I decided to try it. I walked from the south street seaport to the restaurant, and it took me a minute to realize that I had to turn the corner to see it. I am so glad that I went there, and bought a combo dish to take home- fried fish, fried shrimp, and a salad.

I did wonder how it would fare walking back to the train and then on the ride home since it was all in one container. No problems at all. I did forget to ask if it was possible not too put tomatoes in the salad since i'm allergic but I simply picked them. The salad was so so fresh I was really amazed. And the fried shrimp and fish, were delicious. I had half of everything for dinner and will finish it off tomorrow. It really hit the spot.And just what I was craving. For anyone in the area, I would definitely recommend to stop by and pick something up. Besides the great price, the gentleman who made the order was very nice. I think this will now be my go to spot when I go down to the seaport area.“

“You have to go up to the counter to order, then find a seat. They’ll bring the food to you once it is ready. There is no menu or pricing shown. But super affordable and tasty! We got a fried flounder which was huge, a seafood ceviche, and a side of fries for only $20. The flounder tasted so fresh, not too much batter but still super crunchy and crispy. Would definitely return again to try other stuff.“

“The best fried fish in town. Small husband and wife joint. Nothing fancy to witness but you can appreciate the food they serve it’s such a hidden gem and it’s my all time favorite spot. Took my friend here for lunch today for the first time and he said the best beans in this area hands down.“

I had both fish and shrimp and there new potato salad for just 2.00 and a half and half that was sweet and cold, It was so filling great taste not overcooked made on the spot and you get 2 slice of wheat bread! I love the tartar sauce too!“

“I found this gem of a restaurant 5 years ago. This is the ONLY place I go to for brown stew snapper. Mikey is a PHENOMENAL chef!!! If you don't live this side of Brooklyn, it's worth it to take a drive to get some of the absolute BEST food you will ever have ??. Blessings “

“Wow, never had their chicken before as I usually just get their burgers since I like thinner burger patties. I ordered two breast pieces and one thigh and got the potato wedges. Was so good I ate all 3 pieces of chicken, which is unheard for me as I usually only eat one or two, and all but maybe 5 wedges. Was delicious, hit the spot for sure. Food was also nice and hot and I got a ton of wedges, not some little fistful thrown in. The people that work there are also very nice, polite, and helpful. Now that I know how good their chicken is I'll be buying that from them a lot more often.“

“Had a great time at Tavern29! We gathered for a friend’s birthday lunch, and the place had such a warm, welcoming vibe—you never feel rushed to finish and leave.

I had one of the best medium-cooked steaks I’ve had in a while—perfectly done and seasoned just right. Full of flavor and cooked exactly how I like it.

The atmosphere was relaxed and not too loud, so it was easy to have a real conversation without shouting.

“The Whiting fish with fries is my quick go to in a pinch. Staff is to busy to be polite. That's probably my only issue. Otherwise let's not let that take away the fact that it's an alternative to super fast food. Overall it is a location that's easily accessible and they appear to get it just right everytime. Just be prepared to be very patient and dont expect to be greeted. That's my review. I hope it was helpful to someone.“

I got a 3 piece whiting with rice and a can of soda it came with bread and coleslaw it was under $12!! amazing deal! My one negative is that I bit into the fish and I had a bunch of bones in my mouth but it wasn't throughout the whole fish. Would definitely return“
