“What a great place and so glad we found it just a couple of minutes walk from our hotel. We visited every day during our trip and served the best Guinness in NYC. We had food most days which was tasty and they still served food late. It was my first visit to NYC and the staff were a great help and all had time for a chat. Definitely worth a visit, you won’t regret it.“
“Thanks to a tip I found this great place. Humanity was very important here on 9/11 and this has been an insider tip ever since! Helpers of all kinds, fire brigade, rescue services, police... come from all over the world and they can put their patch there as a souvenir. A real Irish pup with a great atmosphere and really nice and good staff. The food and drink were also great, so we had a great evening there. You have to have been here. And the fire brigade from our town was already here. The pub is near the 9/11 Museum and close to the bus stop.“
“Jody's Club Forest is the best! I went for lunch with my special needs students and we were taken care of so well. The staff is super friendly and the food was delicious. It is wheelchair accessible and has such a comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely be back!“
“This is one of my favorite restaurants on the Upper West Side. Many great menu items, but my favorite is their chicken pot pie (see pic). I also often order the bruschetta - it’s always prepared perfectly. The ambiance of an Irish pub is full of character. The food, the drinks, and the service here is consistently excellent.“
“We came down to watch the game and were welcomed and had a great morning. We did not have any food but what we saw looked good, the beer was delicious and the service excellent though. A great place to visit if you want an LFC game while in New York.“
“We happened upon this delightful spot after touring the Intrepid. We were hungry for good food and were not disappointed. I had a Franziskaner draft and a cheeseburger, while cooked to well, when I asked for medium, it was well seasoned and had a good flavor on a nice hard roll. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap, I ate 1/2 of it and really liked it. It was a nice balance of pesto and mozzarella to chicken. The side salad wase nicely dressed. This was a seriously nice find, it was charming to walk into one of the oldest continually run bars in NYC and find great draft beer and food at an affordable for NYC price. The service was outstanding as well.“
“We always have a nice experience at The Shannon Rose, but last night was exceptional, principally because of the server, Marienella. She was amazing. So nice, patient (my wife had many questions and sent her specialty drink back once for modification), sociable and knowledgeable. Marienella made our entire time there that much more special!“
“We stopped in last Sunday for a pint and wound up staying for the whole afternoon. Caught the GAA game between NYC and Mayo. Super friendly staff and excellent food. Even tried to change our train back to Boston but not able to. Could have stayed all night. Can’t wait to go back again!“
“Went to this bar after bartender at the Valerie lost our credit card. The lady behind the bar was kind and promptly served our drinks to get over the trauma at the Valerie.Ranting aside, chili lime wings and calamari were amazing. Great crunch, well seasoned, great flavor, and satisfying serving size.“
“Me and my boyfriend stopped in to get a drink on Sunday afternoon and Ro was amazing as soon as we walked through the door. She was attentive the whole time and we loved talking to her. Great drinks, great service. I’m from Stony Point, NY and I can’t wait to come back to see the live music.“
“Completely unexpected! Many years ago stepped in unknowingly of their history and was greeted by Jimmy and you felt known even though it was my first visit. Sat at bar and staff was so attentive. Food was incredible! Second visit… was like how I imagine walking into to “Cheers” would have been. Everyone remembered even though months went by! A rare gem in NYC and worth a visit for the amazing food, warm and meaningful hospitality and connections! Became a regular and will always be a stop after leaving NYC on my visits !“
“We are never disappointed when we stop here when we visit NYC. Atmosphere and food is always fantastic and they make killer Manhattans. We just went for the 2023 Rockefeller tree and the staff was pleasant and accommodating. so happy they were decorated for the holidays. 100% go to in our opinion.“
“Stopped in for a couple of drinks while headed to the subway, super glad I did! The bartender was amazing and went out of his way to take care of us. Clean and comfortable traditional Irish pub with plenty of TVs to catch the game. Highly recommend.“
“Love coming to this place as a treat after a weird day. The Maggie's old fashioned is the best old fashioned I've had. The ahi tuna nachos are my favorite appetizer. Or if you're looking for something warming and filling, please try the Shepard's pie with the cheese added. No matter how busy it gets, the staff are always nice and easy to communicate with.“
“We were staying in the area and ended up having dinner twice in this pub. 4 stars is average between these two visits. I’d rate one 5 stars but the other 2-3. It seems one of those places where you need to know what to order, even though menu is reasonably short.I do not recommend ordering salmon, which was a small piece of fish on a big pile of spinach. Also the Shepherds pie rendition I was served was the weirdest one (and least good) I’ve ever tried. It was a very thin layer of mediocre beef with 3 pieces of carrots, covered in a pool of gravy with mashed potatoes piped around the perimeter of the plate. In the gravy pool, there were swimming some peas that tasted like they were hastily defrosted before serving. It was under-seasoned and the large pieces of bay leave I had to fish out of the gravy pool were just the proverbial cherry on top.We came back only because the kid liked his burger, it was raining and it was the only restaurant in the area without deafening music. I’m glad we did though because I ordered fish and chips and somehow it was actually fantastic. Granted, “chips” were regular fries but fish was plump, succulent pieces of cod meat with perfectly crisp breading. Tiny portion of cole slaw was also good. Vegetarian burgers are frequently an afterthought at places like this but it was pretty good.Beer on tap was OK, there isn’t a large selection. Got a mixed cocktail in happy hour, don’t recommend it as it was mostly ice in a small glass.Nothing special to say about service. On the first visit, we were left to our own devices until we asked for a check and on the next visit, the waiter stopped by to ask if everything was ok. Beware of credit card fee, we were able to pay with debit card to avoid it. It does leave unpleasant aftertaste though, feels like being bamboozled. Just roll it into your cost, for cripes sake.“
“I was killing time in the city before my flight later that day. This was the 4th spot I visited and I decided to post up for the remainder of my visit. Very chill vibe and the bartender, Lucas, was awesome. Thanks for helping me kill some time! Will definitely stop in on the next visit!“
“Food is always excellent. When ordering for delivery people taking the order are always extremely polite and helpful. Delivery always takes less time than expected. The delivery people are very polite also. Same wonderful experience whether we dine in or get take out. Would give 10 Stars !!!“
“If you want to end your night after experiencing times square, this is the place. Just a minute walk. This pub is lit. Made some good friends and the live music makes you go round twoParking: Parking anywhere in NYC is difficult. Plan ahead or wait to get lucky finding a spot“
“Super cool place. We ordered the fish and chips, Philly and Ruben. All looked pretty decent. I personally had the Ruben and it was "ok" not a lot of meat on it at all, like not a little but like the kitchen was running out of meat and could not put anything more on it. Lots of Kraut. The fries were good as well as the habanero mustard they had for dipping. $1 charge for it but whatever. Service was excellent. Nice place to grab a drink and maybe next time the fish and chips.“
“The apps and entree are terrific!!Mike, the bartender, knows his stuff and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet!@Parking: The parking lot is small but lots of street parking is available. But who cares the drinks, bartender, and food are terrific!!“
“Loved visiting this place with a friend for brunch! The food was great for the price and it has such a cozy vibe. The drinks are a good price as well during brunch and I would love to come back again alone or with friends. It’s small and the seating is a bit tight but it’s a good place to hang out. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area! The brunch burger was delicious and cooked how I like it but the main star for me were the truffle fries.“
“A hidden gem in the wall street area. Beautiful old antique wooden bar brought in from Europe that is well maintained, polished, and stacked with any liquor you could think of. There is a sizable room with tables passed the bar that is perfect to enjoy their delicious dinner specialties -- something you would never expect from a bar. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star rating for the atmosphere is because I have tinnitis which makes it hard to hear conversations in loud gatherings. I was there on a Thursday and the bar was packed . Everyone was having a great time hence loud (but only at the bar area). If it is that packed on a Thursday, I presume that the "party" is constant every day it is open. It is Wall Street after all.“
“Pretty standard Pub, which isn't a chop but praise. Who doesn't love a good Irish/English pub? Decor is great, bathrooms are clean, drinks are plenty. The Barbacoa Tacos were acceptable, the soft taco shells were tasteless, dry, and fell apart. The meat was delicious though. This location is close to GCT which is awesome.“
“Went to NYC for Yankees home opener. First night we visited four Irish pubs. Mulligans was by far the best in several areas: 1) Best ambience 2) Best bartender- both Irish and super attentive and most importantly, 3) By far the best Guinness. My friend, who travels to Ireland at least twice a year, said the Guinness tasted like it does in Ireland. And I thought it was the best Guinness of all the Irish bars we visited in NYC!!!“
“First time in NYC celebrating 25th Anniversary. Stopped in for a quick beer and met a wonderful bartender. What a wonderful place, I’ve spent many years visiting Irish bars, this is a top choice. Will definitely find a way to get back before we leave. Owner showed up and spent some time talking with me and my wife. Highly recommend,“
“I visited this bar on a weekend night for a pint. The place has a strong pub atmosphere, with exposed wood and Irish signage. There was a person doing live music in the corner who was great. The bartenders were attentive and quick to serve. Overall I had a great time here.“
“I hosted my fiancé's 30th birthday party at Slattery's and I'm so glad I did! The whole team was easy to work with and very accommodating. The private room upstairs is spacious with plenty of seating. The staff was super friendly and service was great throughout the entire night. We were also able to play our own music which is a big plus for us. I would definitely recommend hosting an event here!“
“Definitely highly recommended!Very friendly and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was very good and "spicy" ;)Special credits to Christopher and the new employee JeffThey helped us with the choice stress. In the netherlands we say: Dankjewel toppers!Greetings from Urk (Netherlands) ?“
“Playwright Irish Pub is amazing! Proud to call it home of #TigresEnNYC. It's always great for watching soccer and of course, any other sports. Mazum and the crew are always great not hesitating putting the game for us and making sure we have a great time. The food is amazing and the beer is always cold as it should be!“
“Visited here on a busy Friday evening without a booking during our recent trip to NYC due to my partners Guinness addiction steering us in that direction. They were really kind and found us a table, the service was impeccable and we were very well looked after. I can honestly say the short rib papperdelle is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth, it was a flavour sensation, I savored every single mouthful. The expresso martini I washed it down with was pretty good too. We went back again on Sunday evening as I wanted to try the New York strip steak which was also delicious. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly be back.“
“Went there with my girlfriend last night to celebrate my first official legal saint Patrick’s day. The waitress there was very nice. She was very informative on the drinks. Knew what she was talking about. The food there was great. Will absolutely return. No doubt. Thank you so much!“
“If I could give this place a million stars, I would because this establishment is more deserving of it than any others I’ve been to. Hole in the wall bar that makes you feel like you’re part of a community. Asad is by and far one of the best, if not the best bartenders I’ve ever met. He makes you feel like you’re family and you’re at home. And in regards to the bar food- some of the best I’ve ever had. HIGHLY recommend the mozz sticks and buffalo wings.Long story short, if you live in or are visiting LIC, this bar has been my go to for years. You won’t regret coming here.“
“Love going here for Knicks playoff games. Great spot with tons of seating and TVs. What I love the most is that they turn on the volume (only for playoff games unfortunately…would really like it if they did it season-round though). Nonetheless, still a go to spot for sports games.“
“We’re not from NYC, but whenever we are in town we visit the Milton. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and they truly make you feel at home. I wish this place was in my hometown so I could be one of the regulars. I will 100% come back any time I’m in the city.“
“What a fantastic place for beer and burger. This is a nice local bar. It’s not a place where you want to take your little kids for late dinner where seats are mostly taken and many people standing around.Staff are very friendly and attentive, great beer selection, and delicious burger+onion rings.“
“I've eaten here for lunch a couple of times and everything has been good. The fried chicken sandwich, the penny burger and the BLT are delicious. I especially like the Love Shack drink. Contains, prosecco, raspberry and I believe vodka.“
“A great neighborhood bar and restaurant. I had ten people over for a pre-St. Patrick's day get together. Decided to order take-out from O'Neill's. Several of the guests requested substitutions, additions, and omissions to a few of the orders. The waitress on the phone was courteous, thorough and knowledgeable. Our orders were perfect. In addition, everyone at the party loved their burgers, entrees, and sandwiches. When we arrived a little early for pick up, how delightful it was when we were offered a free drink! O'Neill's made my family get together even more special.“
“Classic spot , newer location,Chicken fingers with honey mustard, fresh homemade pot roast. It doesn't get better.Service is excellent, food selections are excellent.Don't forget them daily homemade specials.TV's galore, and great great crowd.“
“This is a great bar to watch the eagles games! It feels like you are right in the heart of Philly and you can always can get a drink relatively fast! In the fall when it's still warm, they have a set up on 1st street where they block it off and set up tables and TVs to watch the game.“
“We went during happy hour and got calamari and burgers which were an at the bar happy hour special for 50% off (wings were also on special). The calamari was cooked perfectly with a light and crispy breading. The burger was quite large and very tasty with hand cut fries which were actually crispy instead of the limp and greasy ones I usually encounter elsewhere.“
“I just stumbled upon Connollys prior to a concert. We were greeted, seated, and ordered our food without hesitation! I had a burger and fries and my companion had the fish and chips, both which were very tasty. Our server Rory was really attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend Connollys!!“
“A small neighborhood joint with food that will exceed your expectations.Moran’s is known around town for their burgers, which absolutely live up to the hype. I also recommend trying the Irish Poutine. The fries have an even coating of curry sauce, which means every bite is going to be delicious. Me and my partner ate in mostly silence while we were here, which is a sign that the food really hit our souls here.Drinks wise, there is a solid beer and cider menu, with a number of options from Ireland and the UK that you won’t find at other spots around town.Service wise, everyone here is friendly.“
“Was visiting family as we are from the Philippines. was able to have dinner with the owner and his beautiful wife. Can't say enough on the great food, service and company!! If you want a TRUE NYC experience THIS IS THE PLACE. Thanks for the great time...“
“McHales is within a stone’s throw of Time Square and a bunch of hotels, but somehow manages to retain a local feel. I say somehow, but this is because the founder, Paul, is a dead-set champion bloke, the rest of the staff are authentic and welcoming, the space is large enough to have some privacy and small enough to feel cosy, and sitting at the bar is a classic New York Irish treat (without the sticky beer-stained feel). I found it while I was there for PLUS NEW YORK (if you know, you know) and invited brokers to come and see me there. So, when in NYC, get yourself down there and sit back, relax, eat good food, say hi to Paul and the team and enjoy.“
“Very exciting find. Searched for restaurants near my hotel that served wings three different times and did not see this as a suggestion. While walking saw the sign and decided to investigate. Will definitely be back on future visits to new York. Next time I will try an entree... maybe. The appetizers were delicious and the make it yourself tray was great. I do not drink, but the drink specials were varied. Went during happy hour, so it was pretty packed but still comfortable. Wait staff friendly and attentive.“
“I was looking for a decent restaurant for lunch while visiting relatives in the Montclair area. A friend from the area recommended Eagan's. Great recommendation! We had fried calamari, thick cut fries, chicken wings, bangers and mash and fish tacos. Everything was excellent. Our server was fantastic. I would go back again...and again.“
“This place is a nice Irish pub! ?? The Long Hall Pub in Murray Hill ? is a wonderful spot to grab beer ?, watch ? a game ?, and socialize! They have a large selection of beers ? and lots of indoor seating. I wish I knew about this place sooner!“
“I first discovered Finnegans Wake in 1990 and it was and still is my favorite NY place. Those were the days, my friend. We thought they’d never end but I haven’t been back to NYC since 2013. I heard Ignatius passed and May he RIP and Frank, the best bartender must have retired. If not, please give him a shout out from his “California Girls , Maria and Kelly.“
“This might be my favorite bar in midtown! My co-workers and I like to see movies at the Kips Bay AMC across the street and come in here for a few drinks after. The staff is always amazing, they have a real fire place, and the atmosphere is cozy and warm even when they are packed. If you are in Manhattan and looking for an Irish Pub... Do yourself a favor and avoid all the other ones and come here!“
“Loved the cozy little pub feel on a chilly night. Our group of 8 was seated immediately upon arrival for our reservation. The waiter was extremely attentive, friendly and on the ball. Dry rub wings and the sticky toffee pudding were a bit hit with our whole group. The main meals had healthy portion sizes. Great food and vibe all around.“
