“Nestled in a small neighborhood, the location is unassuming but is a neighborhood gem. They have all of the traditional Caribbean eats plus a few items that I've never seen before. The ox tails were spectacular (will go back for those) and the mac n cheese was snap! The rice and peas were a little al dente and unfortunately the greens were gritty (not in any way saying that they are all the time, just happened to be this time) but had super great flavor and perfect texture. I will need going back to try more of their selection next time I'm in Bayonne,NJ“

The jerk chicken, plantains, rice and peas are excellent and the homemade ginger beer is a real plus. Ignore the ambiance, embrace the food! “My opinion is 8.7/10. Is it the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had? No but overall our place that makes handmade Jamaican beef patties with a good overall flavor I recommend it. “I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

“This place has amazing Jamaican food! We have tried the mild beef patties, oxtail, jerk chicken and chicken curry. The meals come with a cabbage- vegetable blend and fried plantains. The owner gives so much food and is very friendly, but the food is so flavorful, hot and delicious! We come back here a few times a month. I especially recommend the oxtail- it’s like a party in your mouth with all the delicious spices!“

“Peppa’s never misses! The jerk chicken is always juicy, perfectly seasoned, and has that real smoky flavor I grew up on. I’ve also had the curry goat and oxtail both are fire 🔥. The rice & peas, cabbage, and festivals always hit, and the portions are more than worth the price“

“Anyway, I went on TikTok craving a good plate of jerk chicken and we all know Tik Tok is an amazing guide. I saw a video about irie jerk and KNEW I had to try it the same day. And I did. Since then I have been a regular at irie jerk. I have always had a great experience and my chicken is always up to par. I truly appreciate the copious amounts of sauces available! My favorite combo is the sweet chill and chilli jerk. It gives me the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. Since the closing of the jerk spot on church and 94th I haven’t found a place that gives the same jerk chicken taste it was popular for until I found irie jerk.

After reading all of the reviews, let me say the time of day in which you purchase food makes a big difference at ANY and EVERY food establishment. There are busy days and there are slow days. This will directly affect the food quality. Additionally food is subjective, what I look for in jerk chicken may not be what the next person looks for.
