“I never imagined that I could taste the taste of my hometown in a foreign country! The dining environment is quite clean. There is nothing to say about the taste of the dishes. I recommend everyone to try the pickled noodles, which are fragrant and sweet. It's just that there are a lot of people during meal time.“

“Delicious food and great atmosphere! After a long day of running around it was so nice to sit down and have a great meal where everyone around you is having a fun time! We started out with the Scallion Pancake and Vegetable Dumplings. I don't eat Scallion Pancakes very often because most places don't make it very well. Joe's Pancake was perfection! Cooked just right with layers of flavors. The Dumplings were light and fresh. For our main course we had Chicken with Broccoli and Sauteed Crystal Shrimp. Both were delicious and very generous portions. It was the first time I had had the Crystal Shrimp and I couldn't stop eating them. The Staff was very nice and we felt very well attended to but not overly so. We are really looking forward to returning so we can try some dishes that we have never had before.“

“Everything is delicious!Depending on the time you arrive, there may be a queue, but it's worth the wait.We ordered dumplings, Shanghai noodles (not very spicy and the most popular in the house), fried rice chicken. It costs 36 dollars for 2 people with service, super fair.I will come back more often when I visit NY“

“Little Alley is a Chinese restaurant offering traditional Shanghainese food in a casual modern setting on 3rd Ave between 37th and 38th St. We saw many Chinese people dining at the restaurant, which is usually an indication of food being pretty authentic and not overly modified to Western tastebuds. Portion sizes are generous, bear this in mind when ordering your food - we ordered way too much! Food was absolutely delicious, as were the very creative cocktails. Staff was professional, but not overly attentive. Clearly recommended if you want to enjoy high-quality Chinese food in a no-fuzz setting, and at very decent rates.“

“Seated right away on a week night, got lucky bc of our party size. Others had to wait with a number outside.Soup dumplings larger and better flavor than anywhere else. Everything else was great as well. Service is typical chinese...fast and efficient and not all that pleasantry stuff. Water refills and table clearings all quick and no waits. We loved our experience. Their food is consistent. I cant say its the best chinese ever but pretty darn good!“

“$8 for 8 dumplings, and they are great!! Soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings were awesome. We also got the chicken pan fried noodle and that was very good. This place is a STEAL for NY priced food. After tax and tip, we payed $15 a person.I had no expectations, and I was pleased. The soup dumplings were yummy. I can’t speak to Price because I didn’t pay, but I don’t think it was too expensive. I’d probably come back again. They had a card register, but they were cash only. So maybe that was because we came when they were about to close, but look out“

“My husband has been taking me here since we started dating almost 15 years ago as teens. Today we brought our toddler here and the service and food is still just as good! The manager (or owner, not sure!) is always so welcoming and even gave our daughter a sweet little Christmas gift before we left. We love this place and hope it’ll be around for our kid to grow up loving like us.“

“Hao noodle not just provides noodles but some really authentic Chinese dishes like sautéed eggplant with garlic sauce; sautéed sole fish in clay pot; stir fried vermicelli with prawn in XO sauce which are hardly find in Chinatowns. Great environment and highly recommended this place.“

“I've been here 4 times in the past month now. The food slaps. Makes me feel like I'm back in Shanghai. Chef/owner is very welcoming and passionate about his food. The menu is a mix of authentic Shanghainese food and more mainstream NYC Chinese food. I recommend the pan fried dumplings (生煎吧), lions head meatballs (狮子头), and crab tofu (蟹粉豆腐). I love the warm and casual vibes and Baodega has definitely become my new neighborhood spot.“

“How have I not written a post for this place yet when this is my go to for soup dumplings! Restaurant has plenty of seating. Service is fast-paced and turns tables quick. Soup dumplings are hot, soupy and delicious and their menu is just as good. Other menu favorites and must try is the salt and pepper squid, scallion pancakes/pancake w sliced beef, with cucumber salad to pair.“

“Can't speak for anything else but bubble tea, leaving review here as the restaurant doesn't show up for having bubble tea but the board outside the restaurant listed them as selling bubble tea.Selection was relatively standard for a non-dedicated bubble tea location (powdered tea flavors, Thai tea / taro / etc., less than 10 flavors), they get 4 stars though because the bubbles did not taste too stale despite being after 7p on a weekday. Not 5 stars though for volume of bubbles, as the amount of bubbles was less than expected. However in this particular zone of NYC with limited bubble tea near the W4th train station stop, not bad, dare I say your best nearby option if you need some nearby bubble tea before getting on the train.Did not have to wait long at all for boba take-out so giving service 5 stars.“

“Awesome dumplings and small eats to get your Xiao lun bao homey Asian fix. Great services, this has been my go-to for awhile, but my recent experience put me over the top. Overpaid a bill with clumsy cash by 20, the owner (I think) was super honest and came back to ask if I messed up, I did, so I gave him a bit more than original tips for honesty.“

“Everything was perfect; food service and atmosphere. And less than $15 for a delicious vegetarian lunch! I asked the waiter if they could add some steamed tofu to the veggies, which they did for no additional charge! My friend had a beer, so hers was a bit more.“

“What a deliciously serendipitous surprise! Okay, so…being freshly back in NYC full time, I decided to go for a jaunt, before a scheduled yoga class - stick with me here. As I’m making my way to a near by Target to browse and bide time, I’m suddenly inspired to detour from all plans made (Target included), go further downtown and walk 14th St from 8th Ave. You with me, still?I’m walking and I stop at a favorite haunt and I pick up a new deck - follow me for more on that later. I continue on, figuring I’d walk over to St. Mark’s because it’s been forever since I’ve been in that area. I’m strolling down Broadway and what do I stumble upon? “3 Times.” Curious me, I’m intrigued, especially because 3 is my favorite number. I go in, I sit and I am ENAMORED.Y’all! The service, the atmosphere, the FOOD! You have got to try their CHICKEN SOUP DUMPLINGS and the FRIED MINI BUNS - the latter comes with condensed milk. It. Was. SO GOOD! I washed it all down with a lot of their EIGHT TREASURES CHRYSANTHEMUM TEA - YUMMMMM! Mind you, I went to the grocery store this morning, but you know…life will lead you to pleasure when you let it. I will without a doubt be returning, and with an even larger appetite. If you end up popping over to 3 Times (Broadway/Union Sq), tell them Donny sent you. If you happen to see me there at the same time as you, say heylo! ?“
“First time at this location but I been to two other nan Xiang locations before. This place is quiet and the food here is solid. I ordered the pan fried dumplings which came with 6 for $10 and soy milk $3.50. Really love the soy milk here. It's not too sweet. The service here was fast and food came neatly in a red bag. This location is also very cozy. The pan fried dumplings didn't have the seared bottom like the other location. It was soft. The chili oil and vinegar goes very well with the dumplings though. The pork meat was juicy.“

“I came on an off hour with a friend for lunch on a weekday and there was no wait. I was influenced by the videos I feel like we all saw. I saw FRIED soup dumplings and my interest was extremely piqued. Unfortunately these fried pork soup dumplings didn't quite work for me. I think they were really well made and held a good amount of soup inside, but ours veered slightly burnt, and you could taste that burnt flavor. They are also heavy-- they're oily and eat more like a fried bun than a fried dumpling. That quality of soup dumplings where you feel like you can eat a bucket of them is not there. I loved these rice cakes though! I thought they were seasoned really nicely without being too salty and included a ton of cabbage and pork. The portion size was also somehow more than I expected. And the prices here kind of can't be beat for dimsum food in nyc. My friend and I split these two dishes and it came out to around $16 for each of us, including tip.“

“Food ranges from average to great. They've got all the basics but my favorite by far is the Sichuan spicy chicken. Crispy, a little spicy, beautifully aromatic. The skin on their dumpling dishes were all a little overcooked. Service is readily available and quick. We had a reservation for a large group on a weeknight and were immediately seated. Restaurant was empty when we arrived (630ish) but was pretty busy by the time we left (8:30ish).“

“Juan was our bartender and server and delivered exceptional service!! Very attentive and sweet. The ambiance of the place is lovely , right next to our hotel. We already ate dinner so had some light snacks here and a couple of beers and a cocktail. When my cocktail was a little too sweet , he added a little whisky to balance the taste. Cold and windy night in New York on ling island but a little visit here was a good night cap!“

“Noodles were pretty good, wraps are good, and nice to be able to mix and match with some bao or veggies. The interior was fairly nice. I dont remember exactly what happened but i wished i had more water, wasnt sure if they were supposed to refill it.Not the most amazing food ever but its a good stop while shopping or checking out the area. Probably not a regular favorite of the localsVegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options clearly labeled“

“I grew up in Shanghai this one is authentic and have dishes other restaurants don't typically offer. My son doesn't like vegetables, but he loved the cabbage dish there! If you like authentic Shanghainese cuisine, the place is a gem.“

“Good food. Has booths & open tables. A little dark. Affordable prices. Fast table service. Friendly wait staff. Scallion pancakes are too oily & not hot. Most of the others food was delicious. Shrimp dish was too doughy, but the shrimp itself was fresh & firm. Xiao Loong bao was juicy & hot. Fried dumplings was meaty & crisp. Baby bok choy & cucumber dish was juicy & tasty. Vegetable soup was tasty. Duck dish was succulent & skin was crispy. Donbo pork was tender & juicy. Crispy tofu taste was crispy & hot but best with the sweet & sour sauce.“

“I wanted something filling and warm. I looked online and this location was close to work and I saw that it had great reviews. I reviewed the site online and the menu and ordered the small wonton soup and fried noodles with seafood. I easily paid online through the YELP app for pickup. The pickup time was quite quick and I immediately went over to pick it up. The location faces Water Street but there is work being done to the surrounding area so you have to really be observant of your surroundings to locate the restaurant. The restaurant is a bit small but adequate for dine in. The service is okay, no one really greeted me or ask me if I needed assistance. I had say excuse me twice to get their attention but my order was ready and I took it and left. The food was great the servings were large and the soup was nice mix of broth, seaweed, and wonton. It was warm and filling. It was also not salty. Which was so nice. So many times when I get wonton soup it's salty. The fried noodles were great but it only had shrimp and the description said seafood. I was expecting some additional types of seafood. All in all it was a really good meal“
