Today they forgot my tres leches in my Seamlwss order. I called to request it be sent over because I’m I love with it and they sent someone over shortly after. Wonderful people, wonderful food. “I've been here 4 or 5 times. The quality of food and service is inconsistent, so it's hit or miss. However, when the carne guisada isn't overcooked and they serve it with enough chile gravy, it's one of the best things I've ever eaten.“

“Our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in NYC closed about 9 months ago. Since then, we have been searching for a replacement with no success. Last night we found a great one, Javelina. The chips were very crisp, and the salsa was spicy and delicious. My skinny margarita(s) were full of flavor and not too sweet. The guacamole was excellent. Nachos were way better than you normally find. Chicken and beef tacos were both great. Even the rice and beans were far above average. The only minor issue was that the tables are small and a bit cramped. But the very reasonable price offset the minor seating discomfort. The room was crowded and a little noisy, but totally to be expected on a Saturday night when the food is excellent and the price is low. We will definitely go back to Javelina, but probably not on Saturday night, A total Tex-Mex find!“

“This place is an old favorite that I haven't written a review for, but I don't want Lobo to think I'm taking it for granted. The staff is friendly and attentive. They keep your drinks refilled and refresh your chips and salsa (the chips are really damn good!) I love their chicken fajita tacos. I haven't had a bad meal here. Highly recommended. If you have small kids, you can get there early and they'll take good care of you. The food comes out fast and the upstairs booths are sturdy and strong, so you don't have to worry about kids knocking stuff over. You might find this comment odd if you don't have children, but it's true.“

“Was skeptical about this place at first because I didn't want to pay $5 for one fish taco (shame on me) BUT after tasting it... I was hooked! Especially since they use cod and not tilapia like other places do.
The establishment is authentic and the food tastes like it with really reasonable prices and great food. Now fyi the guac and churros aren't the best by themselves. You should order the guac mixed in and the churros.. I don't know what to advise on that one but hey you might like it.. idk
The agua frescas are delicious especially the watermelon when in season.
I can definitely say try them for that quick casual local neighborhood spot that will satisfy your cravings for Mexican food. ❤️“

“I went in wanting to hate on the place, being that it looks so new and bougie. I thought it was an Americanized place with high prices…. I had the fish taco, birria taco, esquites and birria soup (consome) with a tamarind water. I spent around $35 bucks - and after eating, I was sad to admit I LOVED everything about this restaurant. The tacos came out and the tortillas smelled like a tortilleria in Cuernavaca Mexico. Freshly made and I would assume made in house. I complimented the staff, tipped accordingly and brought my girl in to try it shortly after my first visit - & she agrees! (Ps:we’re both Mexican) sooo lo and behold we have our new favorite Mexican spot in the neighborhood. You have to try it! I’ve only gone in person, never delivery- love the freshness! Actually writing this review while heading in for another round.

They’re open until 2 am so if you got the munchies and want some pupusas or tacos or a drink this is a good place to go or order out from. The pupusas are amazing and they got masa de arroz, which I personally like way more than maíz. If it’s just pupusas you can eat with like 10 bucks. The drinks do add up. Give them a try !“

I loved the cecina (salted beef) taco with its tender, flavourful slices of meat, chopped cilantro & onion, and avocado crema. The chicken taco was well-seasoned and tender, too. “been coming here for a real long time. there isn't a better place to get a decent burger around. burritos are good too(chipotle on 65 is terrible in comparison). it's a mom and pop shop that can definitely miss on some foods but it's one of the best value/foods around with inflation and all. they need to put a little more detail in how they make their food but definitely go for the burritos/combos burgers as others have stated.“

Service was excellent, and ambiance was very warm. But the food… the food was the star of this place. If you ever pass by this place, PLEASE do yourselves the favor and try the banana oatmeal. It is a perfect treat to end your meal as a pseudo dessert. Anything from this menu will tantalize your tastebuds in a way that will keep you coming back for more.

The two men behind the counter were preparing orders already but they were quick. We were ordering withing two minutes. Christian and Rafael were their names. They were so attentive and efficient we had our food within minutes. We sat down and started eating and the food was out of this world. Then they brought out churros on the house that the kids loved. They were so kind. You don't see that a lot anymore. Especially in fast food places. The place was spotless. Very clean and welcoming. “The food is always at the proper temperature and the portions are generous. Pretty clean and their salsa bar is always full. Only gripe I have is it’s always freezing inside! In the summer, the air is on full blast. In winter, the heat is barely turned up, if it’s even on! I guess it’s because the kitchen area is warm so the staff doesn’t realize how cold the dining room is for customers.“
