Our family love having Familia Dinners here the owners are The sweetest always making sure we are happy with everything. Restaurant is BYOB, so you can enjoy a Nice Cold Beer with your TAQUITOS. Oh And now they have Queso Birria Tacos On weekends the Consume is to die for with a little spicy kick yummy So All You Mexican Food Lovers check this Wonderful Spot .“

“This is one of my favorite no frills hole in the wall spots! It's a mom and pop shop run by a mother and her son. They make Chinese food that is more Southern style (I believe they're from Yunnan) and are consistent with their quality of food. They're cash only, super old school since they don't do delivery or have a phone number and are only open on certain days of the week (at the time of writing, 4 days a week). So be sure to check the posted store hours before you go! If you get any of their noodles it always comes with a side of their homemade chili oil and it's so fragrant and flavorful! It has a little hit but isn't too spicy. It's one of my favorite parts of their noodle dishes and honestly they should probably bottle and sell it. They have a few types of noodles: regular noodles (wheat), knife cut noodles (much thicker and they have an irregular texture) and mixian (rice noodles). Their mixian is very smooth and a good option if you want a slightly lighter noodle. I opt for the knife cut noodles when I want some texture and something heavier. They also have a few vegetable dishes that are simple but give you some balance if you like veggies with your meal. My go tos are the spicy noodle of my choice with the meat sauce or the non spicy version with meat sauce. In our most recent visit I got the spicy mixian with meat sauce and my partner got the mixian with meat sauce with an added egg. You'll see the chili oil pictured as well. I also included a picture of the stir fried cabbage from another visit! Though a bit out of the way if you're not in NJ, I've now managed to introduce the spot to two of my friends and they liked it as well! I'm always happy when I come here and we'll continue to frequent Lucky Foo. I'm so glad they survived Covid and still seem to be doing well. We'll keep coming back as long as they're open!“

“Gem Bistro in Kearny, NJ, deserves a solid four stars from me. While the suan cai yu (pickled fish soup) fell a bit short in terms of broth and flavor, the crispy pork scoop and the fried fish filets stole the show with their excellent taste, especially the cumin-spicy flavor. The diverse menu featuring many traditional Chinese dishes adds to the appeal. With a mix of hits and misses, Gem Bistro is a gem for those seeking a variety of authentic Chinese flavors.“

“My son and I frequent both this location and the North Arlington. Been going for years and they always take good care of us. The variety is great and the food always is delicious. We enjoy the ambience and the staff is helpful.This location is a little different from the North Arlington one that we mostly attend. However, it is just as delicious.“

“Food was exceptional. Def a place to go to if you’re craving some good old fashioned BBQ Portuguese cuisine. Fries were crispy to the tip. Beef ribs were phenomenal. And the chicken of course, well marinated, well cooked, and the taste was excellent. The manager, Leonardo, was kind enough to make sure my service was top shelf and enjoyable. Def coming back more often. A big thank you to the server for being quick, kind and efficient. 5+Stars“

“What a great little spot food was yummy we had the clams in the garlic sauce to start which was nicely cooked. I then had the grilled swordfish which was juicy and yummy. Very chill environment with a pleasant and accommodating staff. Read online the ownership changed recently and wish them the best of luck the only downside was parking but one of the joys of Kearny unfortunately.“

“Been going here since I was a kid and the restaurant was a small spot. Their food progressively gets better as time goes on. I love stopping in to visit, but I mostly order delivery. Their staff are kind and on point.“

“Picked up a large cheese pizza with mushroom and onion toppings late at 11 PM.. They made it fresh, asked us for our preferred spice levels and our preference with garlic and handed it over to us in 10 min! Not like a regular cheese pizza with just the sauce and cheese, I love the bit of spice and garlic notes!! Very delicious and very reasonable“

“The staff is nice, a very authentic place. I ordered a Chaufa de mariscos but I noticed the seafood they used was pretty small kind of like they used frozen seafood. But of course it was delicious. The waitress was very attentive and it's a small family owned place so not many come and sit down to eat. My father ordered pescado a lo macho and it looked absolutely delicious! A giant fish fillet with seafood and sauce, I was jealous I didn't order that dish. Perhaps I will next time“

“Just wow. Ordered the Specialty sandwiches: Chickadinho and Meatball Parmigiana in vodka sauce. They were the best sandwiches I ever ordered in the existence of my life. I must try them all now :) Their pizza is also out of this world. I swear they must be using some sort of magic. Have you ever touched a cloud? Well I did when my mouth touched the bread. I’m literally drooling as I write this.“

“Hello my Foodies! So I was on another adventure with my friends to find great food and we found this Columbian place. It's a very small place so don't go with a big crowd. 4 people at the most. Although it's small, these are the places that usually have the best flavor! The portions were pretty big and the price was average. I had the skirt steak with sautéed onions and peppers, in a delicious red sauce. It came with beans and rice, of course. I ordered the chicharones on the side as well. They were good. I loved the whole meal it was an explosion of flavor, and I need to go back and try another dish. My friends had no complaints and left with full bellies and a smile on their faces. I gave it 4 stars only because I had also ordered empanadas, but my waitress forgot to bring them. But I will get them next time. The waitress was still pretty good and let me know that I could get 2 sides with my meal so I wouldn't have to pay extra for adding rice and beans. If you are in Kearny, I recommend this place to start.“
