It's a time capsule... A dark, cozy bar with a sweetheart of an owner/bartender, Carol. Brick walls, dim lighting and decorative relics from decades past. It feels like a place our grandparents, and even our parents, would have gone to often. Words cannot express the feeling I got a soon as I walked in. Nostalgia in the most perfect way.“

From the start, it was a pleasure working with Glen who was always responsive and answered all our questions. On the day of the event, the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. For many years, my wife and I have cherished the experience of walking into the listening room at John & Peter’s and being completely swept away by the talent on their small but mighty stage. The performances—whether original songs or thoughtfully chosen covers—are truly special. This is real local music at its finest.

When I say local, I mean musicians playing straight from the heart, purely for the love of the craft. These are soulful songs you don’t hear just anywhere, shared by artists whose only goal is to give their gift to the room. Yes, they’re paid—but never enough for what they give back to the audience.

Beyond the music, the food is consistently excellent. From snacks to burgers and everything in between, everything we’ve tried has been fresh and delicious. And for those looking to relax and enjoy the night even more, John & Peter’s also offers a full bar with a great selection of adult refreshments.

Another part of the magic is that you truly never know who might walk through those coolest-of-the-cool stage doors. Surprise appearances and unexpected moments are just part of what makes John & Peter’s so special.

“The food is excellent. The wine selection leaves a little bit to be desired, but our bartender’s knowledge in cocktails and wines compensated for that. His suggestions fit our tastes, paired with our dinner, and didn’t break the bank. KUDOS! We had table service for our dinner, and the server was very sweet which continued the tone set at the bar. In fact, the bartender even checked in during our meal to make sure we were enjoying the dinner and wine pairing. After dinner we returned to the bar, and another bartender took care of us. He was just as kind, and welcoming. The two of them are a great duo, and made the experience so much fun. Watch bright personalities, entertaining to watch, and wonderfully attentive. Didn’t catch the first one’s name, but he seemed to be the heart of the bar. Thanks for making us feel like we were home. Can’t wait to make this our weekend ritual!“

“Me and my girlfriend went there for a Galentine‘s Bestie brunch and had such a wonderful experience. It was the first time either one of us had ever been there and we had a wonderful server named Rich who was friendly and warm and took great care of us making sure we had our bottomless mimosas throughout the entire meal. The food was fantastic. We got the breakfast quesadilla the cheddar grits and French toast and each thing was better than the next. We will definitely be back.“

“Open table is not operational at present. Small restaurant with limited seating. Would not get the traditional margarita again due to lacking in taste and was mostly ice. Tacos were tasty. Everything is ala carte. Nacho chips were mediocre, but we enjoyed the fire roasted salsa. We had attentive service.“

“Very nice anniversary evening at the inn. We had not been there in many years. There have been a few different owners in the recent past but it still feels familiar. Different but familiar which I think is great. My friend is running the place now and seems to have put together a great team and some very nice dishes. Just last week we were texting about the inn and the menu and I mentioned the famous tomato bisque that the inn used to serve. Well not even 10 days later it’s back in the menu, which I think will be a welcome surprise to the local crowd. We are looking forward to returning.“

“We were in town last night for a sports tournament and stumbled upon the Firkin Tavern. With four kids and four adults, we weren’t sure what to expect, especially since the tavern was pretty busy with only one server. At first, we were a little concerned it might be overwhelming, but Mike, our waiter, quickly proved us wrong. He was absolutely amazing! Despite the crowd, he handled everything seamlessly and was extremely attentive. The food also exceeded our expectations, it wasn’t just typical bar food.. everything was delicious and really impressed us. “On Sunday, November 23, 2025 I became reacquainted with an old college classmate and roommate of mine from Cal State, San Bernardino who came all the way from San Diego to visit friends of his located in NJ. We drove into New Hope for dinner and chose the Havana New Hope because we heard it was a great restaurant. Well...the food was terrific...and the service by your wonderful and beautiful server, Harley, made our visit one to remember.
