Not only did he take my huge order last minute...he delivered it in time for lunch for the teachers and staff!!! They loved it. “I absolutely adore this old school, multi-generational, Cantonese style bakery. Its pricing and offerings still cater to the old school Chinese crowd. It’s got a huge selection considering its size which translates to a lot of labor and my sense is that they probably rely on volume (fortunately they always seem busy!) for profit like many Chinatown businesses do.

We continue to lose traditional places like this in favor of bubble tea chains and shops that cater towards younger generations and tourists. Please cherish shops like these and keep the Chinatown that serves its own community alive.

“1st time to New Jersey. We decided to order from a deli, so we ordered from Poppies, best decision we ever made. We ordered through a delivery service and it was still hot when it arrived. We ordered the hot roast beef sandwich on long roll and a bacon cheese burger on long roll with 2 bags of doretoes. They did not disappoint they were big, hot and very tasty. I will recommend to friends and family if they are coming to New Jersey from Texas anytime in the future.“
