“My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit and have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose Hens & Honey Shoppe for Swedesboro, our 136th town.

We had seen this place pop up on our social media feeds, and couldn't wait to try it when we came to town. (Check out their Instagram for great coffee pics and the funny Reels the crew makes.) Valerie & the H&H team exceeded expectations! First off, the shop itself is a work of art with lots of insta-photo-friendly decor.

The iced coffee flight is a must. It's what we came for. We got to try the Fall Special line up (Jack O, Pecan Lane, Flannel Jacket, and Harvest Moon).

It's not just a coffee shop though. The gourmet toasts they offer make for some of the most unique & delicious breakfast or brunch options I've seen. We tried the Smoked Salmon and Bourbon Sweet Honey toasts. WOW! Each of these were a party in our mouths. If we lived close enough, we'd come back more often to try all the toasts out!

The place gets busy, so you might have a wait, but it's WELL worth it.

Disclaimer: I'm writing this review almost a year after we first visited, and the shop has expanded to a larger space in the same plaza that looks just as cool. “I highly recommend the Royal Mile! My husband and I enjoyed a nice coffee date here yesterday. We enjoyed chatting with the worker Matt, who was very professional, welcoming, and helpful. The atmosphere is warm, relaxing, and clean but the coffee is even better. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the decaf options. The decaf pumpkin spice coffee I ordered was so good that I bought a bag of coffee. We can’t wait to go back.

Kid-friendliness: The shop is decorated with fun cartoon illustrations and and Pokémon figurines for kids to find.“

The sandwiches are a bit on the pricier side but usually big enough that I split them into 2 meals. If you go on a weekend or holiday I suggest ordering ahead on their website, I was quoted 25-30 min when I ordered at the counter on a Sunday.“

“Absolutely love this bakery! They offer handmade treats that you won’t just find at any grocery store bakery, but instead a real nice and upscale mini bakery. Their menu items often change, incorporating new and exciting ideas often. Some yummy ones that I tried are tiramisu, pavlova, caramel cheesecake, pumpkin cheesecake, fruit tarts, and more! They also offer unique beverages such as a hibiscus flavored lemonade and a minty sprite. Not to mention they also offer crepes which I have yet to try but I bet they’re delicious.“

“Has the best people and a friendly environment“

“I am in this store frequently (they're right by my job and my boss has a Dunkin addiction, lol). Anyway, I love the service here, especially by the manager on the morning, and the malr employees on the afternoons and evenings. The couple of times I have ever had to have them fix a mistake, they did it quickly, and with a minimum of attitude (though both times, it was young women who gave me attitude, the young men were sweet and apologetic). The only thing I would say needs improvement is the lobby needing to be cleaned properly.“

“We had my husband’s surprise 30th birthday party and not only was the staff wonderful, the space was perfect! The best thing was that it’s not just beer. The last time I was there, I was hoping they’d maybe have a plum danish in stock - no luck - but the cashier was super kind for accommodating me with another pastry. “The employees are so kind and helpful. When I came in with my stockpile of coupons, they took their time to make sure my order got credited for every promotion. As we were about to leave, one of the employees gave us two Munchkins for my restless toddler.The owner was their that day. “Rude and ignorant staff to a Veteran on Memorial Day. Not sure if it was one of the owners. People working the counter have no hospitality experience what so ever and are clueless. They get offended quickly when you ask a question about their watered down product. And I quote the red head bearded guy behind the counter wanting to know what was poured into the coffee "I didnt poison you if that what your asking" when I questioned the container of liquid being poured into my coffee of what it was located in the mini fridge with a red top after I ordered a decaf cold brew and I saw him pour maybe 2oz. of I assume decaf coffee into the cup, the rest 3/4 of ice and cream. big rip off for $3.50. would. it recommended or ever go back. Took 2 sips and through it out. Learn how to treat your customers and don't employ your buddies friends or family members or local kids who have no hospitality experience because they have no clue what it means to actually work or serve the public.“

“Great place! This one is always crowded, but the service is fast and the Baristas are nice. They always make any issues right and I don't think they have ever gotten my order wrong. Prices are a bit high for food drinks and coffees but the convenience makes up for it. Be sure to get a Starbucks card if you are going to go there a lot, you can earn free drinks and food with "stars". All in all a great place with a nice atmosphere and good service.“
