“Can I please give it 6 stars? I recently went there with a group of five family members while visiting New Jersey and we had a truly extraordinary night! As an investor in restaurants I'm very critical when visiting any restaurant and not often impressed even with well known critically acclaimed restaurants. It's very rare when a place has truly incredible food with every appetizer and entree as well as first class VIP vibes for service. You could literally taste the passion and care put into every plate with beautifully prepared flavorful abundant meals. In fact, it was the first time in almost a decade I brought home leftovers as the meal was delicious and easily sufficient for two people. Our entire table raved about their meals and the attentive but not obtrusive service was always there to refill our wine and assist without any of us having to look up for service. The food alone would have made for a great night but what truly made it memorable besides the great waitstaff was the manager, Eli. When was the last time a manager, GM or owner greated you at your table to share a polite, interesting and passionate conversation about the food and why they love sharing this experience with their valued customers? He made our entire table feel like VIPs and made perfect recommendations for wine and dessert. It felt more like we were in someone's home as we were there for close to 3-1/2 hours talking, eating, drinking and laughing. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious and the memories of a great experience will certainly bring us back again.“

“Went here tonight. Had a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, pretty good food, A+ drinks and ambience. Had the tuna tartare- think they can sauce up a little bit and hit with a " vehicle" ( tostada, etc), but overall, fine!! And surprisingly fresh for the area. Grilled Caesar- fantastic. Croquettes ( jamon) more my husbands thing but the sauce was good and I totally enjoyed ! Staff is sweet and super excited to have you. Ambiance is gorgeous. And honestly- food, room for improvement but definitely a major highlight of the area.

For those of you submitting bad reviews, shame on you. I have to take a guess and say 1.) you think you have taste because you lived in Murray Hill for a couple years, did a stint and Hoboken then made your way to the suburbs of Jersey. News flash, it's northern Jersey. You should be appreciative this place is putting an effort in to offer a more elegant experience than the harvest restaurants and chipotle around town. These people are trying, and we should be encouraging this type of development in our town as much as possible. OR 2.) you're so violently upset by the costing of tapas that you blow their whole rating on that, you aren't the target audience.

“We had an exceptional experience. This was our first time dining at Capital Grille, Whippany and it was perfect from start to finish. The food was perfectly cooked. We each got steak and it was cooked exactly as requested. The sides were delicious (creamed spinach & roasted mushrooms), the shrimp cocktail was one of the best I've had. The presentation was beautiful. We were never rushed, the pace of the dinner was relaxing and enjoyable. Our server, Luisa G. was wonderful! She was attentive without hovering, she had the perfect personality for her job, she was personable, friendly, professional and helpful. “I visited this restaurant on this day for the Afro/Caribbean night. My complaint is for the DJ and not the restaurant itself. The food, drinks and wait staff was top notch and definitely excel in their crafts. But the damn DJ and mic man. Event was advertised to start at 7pm, I arrived at 7:30pm and he's sitting at the bar. At 8:30 the DJ queues up some Afro beats nicely but late. The mic man joins him and omg he was shouting, picking on one damn girl and her friends ALL night; it was giving stalker vibes. The music was all over the place SMH. I love HOUSE 157 but this is the first time I've been disappointed in the entertainment. I won't visit Afro nights or won't promote it to others; it's a shame though.“

I am so surprised that I haven’t been to Mandara’s before considering that I have been frequenting the Essex County area for the past four years. Decided to go for dinner tonight and we can’t wait to come back!

Highlights:
You HAVE to try the pizza, one of the best margherita pizza’s in this area and the chicken marsala was phenomenal! The portions are generous!!

The service was amazing, our waiter came by to check in on us at appropriate times, they brought over extra napkins without us even having to ask, and were attentive to our requests.

Overall, ambiance was amazing, great food with huge portions, and amazing staff!“

I’ve been living in the area for about 15 years now and just randomly tried this place one day, and let me just say it not only exceeded my expectations but blew them out of the park. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is nothing short of simply the best. I would highkey recommend trying their freshly house made pizzas, they’re finger licking good as well as their pastas which are chefs kisses. I’m genuinely amazed at how not many people know about this restaurant. The owner is the sweetest woman I’ve ever met, we talked for 15 minutes just about her business it was 2 minutes before they closed and she offered me all of the left over pizza they hadn’t sold that day FOR FREE. I’ve found my new favorite go to Italian spot.“

I ordered a calamari to go, and the bartender (a super friendly guy) was fantastic. He was incredibly nice and even threw in a huge piece of bread—easily 10 inches long!
