“Very good food but service was erratic. Very pleasant waitstaff but we were a group of 8. A few appetizers came out first, the others followed along with one of the main dishes. Then 2 people who ordered burgers got theirs before the rest of the main dishes came out.“

“Can I please give it 6 stars? I recently went there with a group of five family members while visiting New Jersey and we had a truly extraordinary night! As an investor in restaurants I'm very critical when visiting any restaurant and not often impressed even with well known critically acclaimed restaurants. It's very rare when a place has truly incredible food with every appetizer and entree as well as first class VIP vibes for service. You could literally taste the passion and care put into every plate with beautifully prepared flavorful abundant meals. In fact, it was the first time in almost a decade I brought home leftovers as the meal was delicious and easily sufficient for two people. Our entire table raved about their meals and the attentive but not obtrusive service was always there to refill our wine and assist without any of us having to look up for service. The food alone would have made for a great night but what truly made it memorable besides the great waitstaff was the manager, Eli. When was the last time a manager, GM or owner greated you at your table to share a polite, interesting and passionate conversation about the food and why they love sharing this experience with their valued customers? He made our entire table feel like VIPs and made perfect recommendations for wine and dessert. It felt more like we were in someone's home as we were there for close to 3-1/2 hours talking, eating, drinking and laughing. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious and the memories of a great experience will certainly bring us back again.“

“Went here tonight. Had a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, pretty good food, A+ drinks and ambience. Had the tuna tartare- think they can sauce up a little bit and hit with a " vehicle" ( tostada, etc), but overall, fine!! And surprisingly fresh for the area. Grilled Caesar- fantastic. Croquettes ( jamon) more my husbands thing but the sauce was good and I totally enjoyed ! Staff is sweet and super excited to have you. Ambiance is gorgeous. And honestly- food, room for improvement but definitely a major highlight of the area.

For those of you submitting bad reviews, shame on you. I have to take a guess and say 1.) you think you have taste because you lived in Murray Hill for a couple years, did a stint and Hoboken then made your way to the suburbs of Jersey. News flash, it's northern Jersey. You should be appreciative this place is putting an effort in to offer a more elegant experience than the harvest restaurants and chipotle around town. These people are trying, and we should be encouraging this type of development in our town as much as possible. OR 2.) you're so violently upset by the costing of tapas that you blow their whole rating on that, you aren't the target audience.

The service was lackluster unfortunately I don't know if the person was new but we ordered a bottle of wine they brought it to our table open which is not customary. “We had an exceptional experience. This was our first time dining at Capital Grille, Whippany and it was perfect from start to finish. The food was perfectly cooked. We each got steak and it was cooked exactly as requested. The sides were delicious (creamed spinach & roasted mushrooms), the shrimp cocktail was one of the best I've had. The presentation was beautiful. We were never rushed, the pace of the dinner was relaxing and enjoyable. Our server, Luisa G. was wonderful! She was attentive without hovering, she had the perfect personality for her job, she was personable, friendly, professional and helpful. “If you’re looking for old school Italian, this is a great spot. They made it easy to schedule a work dinner for 9 people, and the service was quick and accurate. The Caesar salad was extremely tasty, as was my pasta dish, albeit a tad salty. The front bar area is also cozy and casual, so it’s a great place for an after work cocktail.

“Wide and varied selection of handhelds- burgers and sandwiches which come with fries that's golden crisp. Reuben Swiss on rye. Wonderfully melted cheese and succulent thin shaved brisket beef. Seated ahi tuna on arugula with sauce on the side was a bit plain.“

“Don Pepe never disappoints! Their food is absolutely amazing, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and service you receive. I ordered a calamari to go, and the bartender (a super friendly guy) was fantastic. He was incredibly nice and even threw in a huge piece of bread—easily 10 inches long! “Unexpectedly great. We arrived without reservations on a holiday Monday for a light dinner while traveling thru Morristown. My husband picked this place and we arrived as-is, clearly underdressed. I figured that since it was a Westin hotel that we could pass off as travellers.
The menu had just changed over to the Autumn menu - hearty, earth items like Fall mushrooms, truffle crispy gnocchi, beets salad, foie gras etc. Lots of items to choose from. Our favs were the Fall wild mushrooms and the Caesar Salad. Kids enjoyed the grilled cheese and wings. They rated the fries 4.5/5 (which is really great).
Ambiance: my youngest commented that this is one of the nicest hotel restaurants he's been in (granted he doesn't remember half the places we've been). For a corporate business hotel, the restaurant is very comfortable and warm. Attentive, friendly staff. Decent wine selection and autumn cocktail menu. Plenty of banquet seating along the wall with 2 tops to have a nice solo meal and people watching. On the upper platform of the dining room dedicated for group corporate dinners.
Overall a solid upscale corporate, group restaurant venue. Still comfortable enough for a casual meal. Just be aware of the cost. It's definitely priced as up market.
