“Loved this cute little place!!! My daughter and I were out and about, and wanted to get some coffee, but not from the regular “chain” coffee shop, so after a quick search, we headed to Metuchen. We were lucky enough to get parking right outside, and walked in to be pleasantly surprised by the esthetic vibe. The dogs were barking, doing their busy on the sidewalk, spilling drinking water out of saucers. This was a bit too much. “We were looking for Brasilian salgadinhos to snack on during the Copa 2024 Brasil game. We found a large assortment at Cafe Cirino.
It’s a small place, with tables. A surprisingly large menu, with lots of choices. Gabriela took our order, which was made on the spot and well packaged for the trip home.

“I am very happy I took a chance on sunmerry. I’ve had sunmerry in Taiwan, and the products were very good there.

I ordered a taro pudding cake, and sunmerry delivered. The cream was light and airy, and not heavy/oily(like the frosting on the cakes at Paris baguette). The taro was actual taro paste, and the pudding was not overwhelming. It was the first time I finished a slice of cake with the frosting altogether.

“I absolutely love this place. And their desserts are delicious to eat especially the cheesecake and cream puffs ! The staff are friendly and very kind people. It’s a friendly environment and very comfortable as well!

But one issue, although yes I used to work in retail and i understand that people work long hours and deals with customers all day long. And i completely understand what is it like to be in their shoes.
But I noticed that two of male cashiers (9/20/24). They don’t seem that friendly with me. I’m not saying it has to be all sunshine and rainbows and for them to be all smiley or whatever lol. But still, I was friendly with them when I paid for my things at the register and they looked at me as if they were annoyed by me. Again understanding that they were tired and worked hard and I do appreciate all of them for their hard work to provide best customer service! But still they need to practice being just a bit more friendlier ? !
