“I have been coming here for YEARS for their amazing ice cream, and today was the first day I stopped in for lunch. The food was delicious! I had the Jersey Melt and it was so good! The burger was very juicy and cooked perfectl. The service was excellent! The staff is extremely friendly and so nice to the kids. Prices are very fair and the food came out so fast even with the dining room packed with people. This will definitely be my go to lunch spot for sure!“

Both were rich and creamy, and were a delicious treat. While the Viking Vanilla was more of your typical vanilla ice cream, the Strawberry Fields really stood out as high quality as it contained pieces of actual strawberry inside...probably the best strawberry ice cream in the area. Although it's cash only, the prices are reasonable with generous portions, with a kids or regular size more than ample size to satisfy any sweet tooth craving. I'm happy to support small businesses like Gil & Bert's, and recommend them to others.“

“We just found this place a week ago my son comes into the store to purchase our low-fat or sugar-free yogurt. He was skeptical at first because it's hard to find a good yogurt place since we used to a place in Brooklyn New York that was fabulous. The owner helped my son with the various products that were either low sugar no sugar or low fat. We both must say that the peanut butter we consistently get was absolutely delicious we were very impressed with the quality and the taste. I know it seems a little pricey but with the cost of everything today it doesn't seem out of place and with the quality it's worth it my son signed up to get the rewards because we're going to be coming to this place very frequently“

BUT, I ordered a chocolate banana shake. What I received was a chocolate peanut butter shake. Granted, it's tasty. As is the norm. But if it were my niece who sipped it first? You'd have an ambulance at your doorstep. No exaggeration. People die from accidental exposures to allergens, ladies. And when told of the error, the correct response is "I'm sorry", first. And THEN, offer to make another. Pretty simple. The response is NEVER to cop an attitude, question the customer being "sure" and simply just offer to make another. Ignoring the potential dangers. We both know the lovely boy in the other window eating and sharing his ice cream with you was the reason you were both distracted. It's an honest mistake. But for some people, it could be a lethal one. Otherwise, hard and soft serve ice cream consistently delicious with fair pricing. Always worth the stop.“

One thing disappointing is today I ordered the absolutely delicious birthday cake doughnado which I always order, and the girl gave me the tiniest scoop of cookie dough! I also had the twister here with chocolate custard and peanut butter cookie dough cream ice. It was good, but not nearly as good as the doughnado. The peanut butter cookie dough cream ice was good, but not great. I’ll try another cream ice flavor next time. I recommend Ralph’s Italian Ices in Spotswood!“

“Never one to leave a review but I felt this was necessary. My mother is unfortunately not doing well with her battle with stage 3 cancer. Right now, it’s the little things that mean the world to her and for right now, it seems to be the same for me as well. Tonight my mother was craving one of her favorites, Rita’s! When I got to the window and gave my order to the woman working (large vanilla custard with chocolate sprinkles and a cone on the side) she asked me very politely, if the order was for me? I replied saying no, it was for my mother. She then asked me if I was sure I didn’t want anything and even though it was very hard to say no “on a diet” I did and told her nope, just the custard! She proceeded to put 2 cones and 2 spoons in the bag, packed it so nicely and then told me that I am a good son and that my mom is lucky to have me. I don’t need any recognition for what I do for my mom, but let me tell you when you are at your lowest and a complete stranger shows genuine kindness and compassion it hits different! Thank you for making my day, (I should have gotten your name!) woman at Rita’s! Please continue to spread the love ❤️ And as usual… the custard was top notch, she ate it all!“

“The shake & soft serve cone was good. The soft serve is more dense than some other places and creamy. It was fast service. Cash only, but there's an atm right there. The menu board is overwhelming because there's stuff written everywhere & there's so much of it across the whole front of the shop. I wish I had noticed the soft serve dole whip before I told my husband to get vanilla, but there was too much to read and he was up next in line.“
“I love Ralph’s Italian Ices! The staff at this location are super nice too. They let you have a sample before you buy. My favorite Sundaes here are the apple cobbler and the hot fudge brownie. They are so DELICIOUS! The hot fudge brownie ice cream I swap the soft serve for Mississippi mud hard ice cream. Hot fudge sundaes are better with hard ice cream because soft serve melts quickly when it’s topped with anything hot. Their Ices are far better than Rita’s too! My favorites are the chocolate chip cheesecake, peanut butter and jelly, and peanut butter cookie dough. They also have cookie dough sundaes here too which are also very good! The cake batter a peanut butter cookie dough sundaes are the best! The choices are endless here! I recommend Ralph’s Italian Ices in Hazlet!“

The icy can be very sweet depending on the flavor you choose. My favorite is a Swedish fish with vanilla gelati. Probably the best combination known to mankind. This is the best ice-cream hands down. I highly highly highly recommend.The person who served me did a great job and followed my order to perfection. He delivered the ice-cream to me with style it had the best shape and it was easy to manage.
