I got the original chicken with rice platters and one chicken mix gyro wrap. Excellent and momma is really hard to please. We’re transplants from NYC and with NYC being at the top of the dining out / take home capital it is tough for many States and counties to compete with the flavor and cooking styles easily found in NYC just around every corner.

OMGRYRO easily hits all the marks with the exception of the Jerk Chicken. Jerk Chicken flavor profile is no bueno in my humble opinion and that is because it doesn’t come close to tasting like jerk seasoning and can’t compare to true jerk style flavor.

Everything else is we ordered and devoured tasted great, high on flavor with decent portion sizes.

Hope they put the Jerk Season flavor to the chicken NYC style.“

“I’m visiting NJ (lived here for a long time) and wanted to eat some of my favorite foods. I ordered dinner from port of peri peri and it was perfectly cooked but missing my fries. I let that be known to the restaurant and received a small refund. Next night, I ordered dinner again and I received a large order of fries on the house as well as a discount card for 5% for dine in orders valid for one more week. Amazing customer service. If I were in NJ longer, I would surely order again! The food is absolutely delicious 😋“

“One of the best halal restaurants in Elmwood Park! Baba Tikka has amazing food every time I visit. The butter chicken is creamy and full of flavor, and the chicken tikka masala is just as good with the perfect spice level. The garlic naan is always fresh, soft, and pairs perfectly with the curries. This is definitely one of my go-to spots when I’m craving halal food near me. “Humble seems to be the best word to summarize this restaurant. The men who run it seem to have a great rapport with their customers; they’ve been there for 20+ years and it shows. They were kind and accomodating. The food was plated carefully and was pretty taste. My only complaints were putting margarine on my pancakes without asking and the tiny plastic utensils, which left my hands covered in syrup. However both of those go to the restaurant being unpretentious. There’s no atmoshere to speak of but it was clean. I’d eat here again but probably wouldn’t go out of my way.“

“I ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Kabab through Uber Eats. After I ordered , I realized that I forgot to order Nan. So I called the restaurant and ask them that what can I do now. “We were in the area to see Cherry Blossom Festival in the local park. We originally planned to eat at our favorite restaurant Istanbul in Clifton NJ. We got hungry and looked for close by Turkish restaurants, found this place. Absolutely loved the ambiance, food and the service. We are hooked for life. Try the Calamari for appetizer, lamb shish kababs for main entry. Food was authentic and cooked to perfection. We will be back.“

Grits platter...well...something of a southern treasure! Beef bacon egg and cheese sandwich is always a perfect on the run, goodie! We tried the shrimp over rice and that was nice. Chicken over rice was even better as it had a slight kick to it. And again, no matter what you order, bring a healthy appetite cause you're gonna need it and a long nap, after!
