“Had dinner there for the second time on Saturday night! It was very memorable. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the eggplant with the Barata for an appetizer. It was so delicious and so tasty and my main course was the homemade linguine with lump crab and corn. We also got the meatball which was spectacular and then I got the cheesecake dessert which was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever eaten. I absolutely love love love this place. Can’t wait to go back and eat there again.“

“I've been wanting to go to this restaurant since it opened and we finally made it. We looked at the chef's tasting but didn't like the lack of choices so decided to go on Sunday for the a la carte. The space is lovely and cozy. They had a nice table for us as we were celebrating our anniversary. We brought a nice bottle of wine and started with the beets and the salsify. The beets were super smokey which was fine but after a couple of bites it was very overwhelming as it took over so the other flavors. The salad needed more seasoning as well as some citrus. The salsify was very well done and it was delicious! My husband ordered the cod which was good but spectacular and I ordered the duck which was quite underwhelming. It needed seasoning and the fat wasn't rendered as well so the skin wasn't very crispy. Considering the prices, I would have expected more. We didn't bother with dessert.“

The prices were so reasonable which is rare in Montclair! and they were so dog friendly! it was our first time there but not the last!“

“Delicious! We had an amazing experience here as a party of 7 (4 kids, 3 adults) to celebrate my dad's birthday. The meats (I had the pork chop, my dad the vineyard chicken) were cooked to perfection....juicy and tender. My favorite part was that the kids meals came with green beans! Finally, something other than a beige kids menu. And no chicken fingers. My kids were forced to diversify, and they loved every bite. They had the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and burger. Great family-friendly option for a classy dining experience.“

“Second baptism brunch I've attended here. The staff and food the last time were incredible but the staff this time were above and beyond incredible!! The food was very good and the place was extremely clean! Only issue I had was they put salad on top of each meal after serving a salad to start the meal. Didn't make much sense to me. But I still highly recommend this place!!! Too bad I could only give 5 stars to the service as it deserves 10!!!“

“I walked into this small cafe without even thinking they had such a great variety of food… I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!! The pizza is fantastic, thin airy crispy crust … so delicious!!!

I ordered the drunken parm sandwich and it was made fresh, the breaded chicken was made right then not cold and frozen like other places.. they put the perfect amount of cheese and sauce .. it was crispy and not messy. The hero bread was delicious too! I cannot rave enough about this place!

The DJ set the perfect vibe, spinning old-school hip-hop that created an intimate yet lively atmosphere, even with a smaller crowd due to the storm. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal! The octopus appetizer was cooked to perfection, and the olives that accompanied it were hands down the best I’ve ever had. For my entrée, I had the harper steak, and I can confidently say it was one of the most flavorful steaks I’ve had in years. Every bite was a 10/10, and the pricing was more than reasonable for the quality of the meal.

I’m not from the area, but this experience left such an impression that I’ve already shared it on social media, and I’ll definitely be returning. A huge thank you to the team for making this such a memorable night—I can’t recommend this place enough!“

“We dined at Robert’s for the first time. We were celebrating a relative’s birthday. The food was outrageous! The appetizers were amazing as were all of the entrees. I had chicken stuffed with mushrooms and I can honestly say that it was the best chicken I have ever eaten. The portions were plentiful. We had a large selection of desserts to choose from at the end of the meal. I chose one particular dessert but before mine came out, I asked if I could exchange it for one that someone in our party had in front of her. No problem. They accommodated me and it was beyond delicious. Also, the staff was very attentive during our whole meal. They could not have been any better. The only negative was the fact that there was also another birthday celebration going on at the same time and it was so noisy that we couldn’t hear each other talk. Despite that, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this fabulous restaurant.“

“Hands down the best hole-in-the-wall restaurant I’ve ever been to! You walk into what feels like a cozy dive bar, but when you ask to sit in the dining room, they take you through the kitchen to the back—and wow, it’s like stepping into a hidden gem packed with memorabilia everywhere you look. I didn’t even know where to start taking it all in!

The owner personally went around to every table, greeting everyone and chatting with us about the history of the place—which alone deserves 10 stars. Every single dish we tried was absolutely fantastic. The baked clams were massive, and the garlic clams in that buttery garlic sauce? I could honestly drink it with a spoon. Then came the steaks—perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

To top it all off, the chef came out to greet everyone too and asked how everything was. It’s such a rare touch that made us feel like family, like we’d been regulars for years. And for the kids—there’s even a fun little scavenger hunt, which is such a cute idea!

If I could give Charlie Bloods 20 stars, I would. This place is full of heart, history, and seriously good food. Can’t wait to go back!“

“I had a private event in the Parlor Room and it was fabulous. Food and drinks were spot on and the service was dynamite. There were 21 of us all together and everyone was well cared for by server Lily and the rest of the awesome staff. I really love the unique atmosphere of the place -warm, classy and comfortable all at once. No boring old chain restaurant vibes here. Everyone had a great time.
